Hi great video, is there any chance you could do a step by step video on how to remove everything, like where all the screws are located and how to get the centre console off? There are so many of us on the z4 UK Forum who would love to know. Thanks
Great video! I am about to remove my dashboard trim and I needed this info. I had an extra large piece ( where the radio is) to experiment with. It's made out of casted aluminium. I have now polished up the entire surface.....and also as a final touch I have polished the concave front face with a method called jewelling...check that up on the web...used by old school race cars...according to me it looks awesome and except for the 10 hours work to polish the part this enhancement is virtually for free.
I have wood as well and this is a job I'm planning for the summer when it gets a bit warmer in the UK. However I will be going for piano black as I have beige leather. That centre console looks a real pain.
I'm not a big fan of the carbon covering, but that's just because I don't like that design or shade... But I do like the tips you're passing over and it shows that anybody can do it with a bit of ingenuity, and of course your tips
Zed4me,That looks fantastic. I am in the process of vinyl wrapping my trim in carbon fiber as well and do like the results thus far. Must add that I appreciate your vids. They are concise and instructive. Keep up the good work!-rj
+ddaryoush16 Higher is better for radar, and lower is better for laser. (Higher is still better since by the time you detect laser you're screwed already). Anyway, I can't afford a Valentine. And the detector doesn't even get used much.. I rarely speed anyway lol it was just a gadget I bought to play with and see how it worked.
Hey this is nice mod. You did bro good job. I’m also working on mines, but the problem is I don’t know how to dismantle the interior so hopefully you’ll make a video how to take off the interior.. lol 👍👍
Hey man you have some great ideas .. I enjoy watching your vids ... I have a problem with my left hand window.. in Australia it's the passengers side - it's a bit loose ... I was wondering if you had any ideas in how to fix it ..or at least how to remove the panel and be able to see the window ... maybe it needs tightening ... thanks
Hi Red4me. Nice video clips. I want to replace the cigarette lighter socket in my 2003 BMW Z4. Do you have any installation video or tips to remove and reassemble? Thanks. Allen
Hi Zed, I have problems to take off the center console in the front. I take all the back part already but the front have a clip or something i can't find. Did you can show me in a video?
I'm thinking of buying this car (Used), I am in Canada but I will only use this car as going to school is this a good car for that or I would be beetle of with a another car
+Saad Ahmed It's good for that if you don't need to carry stuff.. its great on gas, looks cool, and doesn't break the bank, while still a lot of fun. If you need something 100% bulletproof though I'd look for something else. That being said, I've only had mostly regular maintenance stuff, so its a gamble.
+E85 Blue Yes, you need to remove the knee pad. There are a total of three screws each side that hold the center console in. And one more under the ash tray. That's on top of the stuff for the rear. There's a good PDF online somewhere, let me know if you can't find it.
I would like to know what model year Z4 you have and does it have a dipstick for checking oil? I am looking to by the 2006 -2007 with the 3L or 3si engine. Thanks
Thomas Erga Sognnes wow interesting. Didn't know they came without that padding. I'm not sure, I always thought it was stock. Might be a factory option
Hey there, would you please inform us on how much you used? I for one am trying to do the same, and quite frankly don't want to over spend and buy too much, or not end up having enough. Thanks so much for your prompt response! :) +zed4me
James Robinson I can't remember off hand but I believe I bought a 1ft roll x 10ft. I would buy more than needed, you can always use the leftover on small bits and pieces here and there.

That look suits the car so much better than the woodgrain look.
+Gonçalo Santinho Totally agree! That's why I did it

Nice Bmr good choice.Video good however people may want a more detailed description of how you remove the parts and how you wrapped/dipped them.

would love to see a video of how you remove the center console.

Actually the answer is yes. You can wrap the console without removing it. I have done it 3 times myself. It's actually quite easy.
You've gotta mount that radar detector higher up on the windshield for better signal. Also, I'd go with a Valentine over anything else

Looks great, need to do the same thing on my Z4, only thing is my interior is beige, wondering how it will look.

How much wrap did you end up requiring?
No more update on your Z4?
Is that a radar detector on your windshield? Is it really work? Any recommendation?
Is that a Mazda 3 parked next to the z4? Wrap looks great btw!
+Kwezzy Its a golf R :)
how do you install the screen on the desk ? I have tried to find a video about it, but can not find it anywhere..
The parts you've wrapped look good. Just don't over do it haha.
+GoDoddsStudios Very true, debating wrapping the nav console.
i've done the same with mine 2.2 Nice Job..
Looks great. Where did you get this 5D vinyl?
+miyawam Off ebay.

Whose blue Miata is that parked out front?
Ever drive one?
+NSXTypeRGTRLM Housemates, and yep.. although that one is an automatic, I've only ever driven manual miatas.

I did except center console. Could you teach me location of fasteners? some of them are hidden in the knee pads?

Mines an 03 and it has a dipstick. Think the si engines don't.. the M model may not either.
@Pilot Ace: I have a 2006 3.0si Z4 Coupe and it is not equipped with a dip stick
Where did you get the armrest pillow in the middle??
Thomas Erga Sognnes that padding is stock
ohh, so it is not possible to add on by myself?
Thomas Erga Sognnes yours doesn't have it? What does it have?
i will tag you on my instagram picture, i dont know how to explain haha

Alright, thanks so much! And also, any specific reason for 5D? Just look better? or is it better quality?
James Robinson looks glossier and more realistic in my opinion
Alright, thanks man. I really appreciate the help and responses! Keep up the great Z4 content
Added 20 hp! lol
