I suposse you might already know this, but "historia"(is tori ah) means history in Spanish. As in the events that developed to shape our society. This term will take a really deep and dark meaning to what is to come, like, "Why that name?", "Who gave it to her?". This anime it's such a political allegory, that it works in any time in history and stays relevant. We as humans tend to behave on a certain way, and this representation is a mirror to us. Those born in the high castes are defended by those born on the lower ones with the promise that over time they will also belong, and will be accepted in the inner ring of the "King's" circle to be treated as an equal, as long as you demonstrate loyalty and obedience, as well as the will to give your life to protect the life and lifestyle of those "above" you. If you die, we'll give you a beautiful funeral, and if you live long enough, you'll get a "prize" at the end of your service to live comfortably. But if you question our authority, be ready to get farter outside the circle, until you become an outcast to society and get devoured outside the walls by titans(Be judged by the court of public opinion, either in your family, community, work place, etc) and never to return.

I doubt Historia could have concluded Ymir was a Titan at that time. The idea that humans could turn into titans hadn’t been considered at all until they saw Eren come out of his Titan and that happened some time after this flashback
mmhmm.. people seem to forget that, although we know now, and everyone in the military does pretty much, this was back when they were younger and probably years even before Eren would become a Titan depending on when in training they were.
