Jim had one of country music's purest voices. He was still singing when he was eighty-two and sounding better than almost all of today's crop of so-called singers.
Agreed!! and he really sang it like he meant it. He connected with the lyrics in a very special way and made you feel like he was living the song! Amazing voice and an incredible talent.
Was stationed at Kirtland in early 90’s. Used to sit up on Monzano all night working and looking out over Albuquerque. Loved this song then and it still take me back to an 18 year old me.
Such a beautiful song...The words are enchanting and the music is succulent. I have no explanation as to why this great song was not number one for a long time.....It is worthy of being called a classic.
My wife, son and I took a trip out west in the 1990s. We didn't go into Albuquerque, we drove around it. The only part of any town I remember is the lights of Albuquerque. It seemed like we'd never get around that town.

Aren't they in the Country Music Hall Of Fame?!!! Why??!! Well, that doesn't matter, what matters is that, are they in the Heaven's Hall of Fame?😊 I hope we'll meet them up there.
Albuquerque is my home , no matter were i go in this world , i can tell a Buurqueño accent. I wore a Dukes hat in San Francisco one time and a assistant coach from back in the day struck up conversation about how much he loved ABQ.
This great song only made it to #40 in Billboard's country chart, which is as much a mystery to me as the Loch Ness Monster, The Bermuda Triangle and Flying Saucers in Arizona!
Yes, he’s just so good, nobody can believe it! Two others are Hal Ketchum and John Berry. All three have voices and talents many levels above today’s bunch.
Saw this man when he came to England many moons ago. No idea who he was. Loved his voice, Years later hearing him and his brothers - just love their music xx
He Was Just Great And I Cannot Think Of Anyone Else That I Could Compare Him To He Had Not Only A Voice Of His Own Style But A Style All Of His Own You Are Dearly Missed Jim Rest In Peace.❤
Amazing music. I’d listen to this driving to El Paso on my way back from being on leave from the Army. They always played this song in a saloon there in El Paso and it’s one of the first songs I can distinctly remember dancing to with my wife. It’s a shame this music is so hard to find and purchase or stream.
Of course, another GREAT performance of this song by Jim, as was for ANY song he ever sang! One of the great three of one of the greatest County trios. Beautiful melody and lyrics by three talented and different co-writers: Bucky Jones, Dickey Lee (remember him?) and the great Bob McDill. Might be Doyle Grisham on steel, but wondering who the bass player, acoustic guitar player (to right of Jim) and lead player (to left of Jim) are?
Danny: Jim's bassist was Michael St. Clair; rythm guitarist was Paul Gauvin; lead guitarist was Steve Hembree; and on drums was Tom McGregor...And although not a regular member of the Jim Glaser Band, Jim's good friend Doyle Grisham often played steel...They were a great band and backup vocalists as Jim picked the best of the best...
@@suehunsinger Hey Sue, what a sweetheart you are for getting back on this. Thanks so much. We all can tell, no question, that you love the Glasers and I can certainly understand. Along with The Browns, the best trio to hit Nashville or any place. Are you a musician? I am and have played professionally since 1963. Yes, Jim would select the best to back him, no question. They are all great, but Paul Gauvin is really super with Jim. Wonder if Steve Hembree is related to Mark Hembree who played bass for The Nashville Bluegrass Band. And the steel player in this vid may well be one of the Opry's house steel players as opposed to Doyle Grishman, but who knows....anyway, thanks again for the post. Much appreciated

One of the very best singers ever!
Also was never recognized as he should have been. Better than most.
I love this song, it’s so beautiful, sometimes reminds me of the old times and the city where I was born. ❤️❤️❤️
He had such great diction! You can understand every word he sings, every syllable. Too many singers are unintelligible.
Jim and his Brother's Trio is one of the finest male trios ever. They are conspicuous by their absence in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
Jim Glaser was one of the best - and most under appreciated…and everything I’ve read about him- seems like a real good guy.
I saw him on the Marty Stuert show .. when he was older .. and he sounded just as good ) 😎👍
Jim Glaser is also a superb composer ...He wrote song "Woman" a hit performed by Gary Pucket and The Union Gap.
One of the best all time singers.
Very pretty song ) 🎼🎵😎👍
Have always loved Jim Glaser's music! I still have my 45rpm of his first solo record. Not only was he a great singer, he was a very humble man.
Oh how I miss the best harmonies of all vocal groups. The Glaser Brothers

This is one of the best songs I have heard, he sings it perfectly and being in Australia I had never heard of him until I started exploring youtube.

Magical.
What a talent and great guy. Love Jim!
One of the truly great songs that never hit big. I've loved it from the day his single came out. DJs never gave it enough air time. Jim got cheated.
Love them Glaser ,bros. Specially the crazy one

I neglected to acknowledge Jim's pianist, Ray Cobb who was also a member of Jim's band...

Great talent...
Would love to see a reissue of Jim's catalog. I can't seem to find this album; prob out of print. Apple doesn't offer it either.
