I have wanted a corgi for 20 years and will finally be adopting one in about 4 months. I'm so excited!

@@devonandwillo I named my boy Tiggy and his sister KiKi , but when I sold his sister to a very nice home they named her or rather couldn't think of a name and came up with Missy, Sissy ? I think Kiki was cuter. :) They are a love to have.....

One tip that I've been using for training my Corgi puppy with aggression towards other dogs (he's not aggressive but to prevent this from happening) when we're around neighborhood dogs who are fenced (with permission!) we have him sniff and interact with the other dog through the fence and then give the other dog a treat first and then him a treat. This way he knows that just because there is food involved or us giving another dog attention he's still going to be rewarded and isn't getting anything taken away from him

Just found you! What a treat! My 8-week-old Corgi puppy Tulip comes to me next week. I am excited and nervous. When I last had a puppy, the only food around was Purina Puppy Chow. That was a while ago. Your videos are super helpful and fun! What puppy food do you recommend?
Harrison, my corgi friend, growled sometimes if I pet other dogs while on a walk. They do get jelly. Had the same issue when someone got near his food, worked on that right away and yet never made the connection to petting strange doggos.

Another resource tip for me that works is everytime I pass by my dog or cat whenever they eat I pet them or even give a kudos. The issue I have is if someone brings their dog/cat over, my pets will wanna eat their food too.

hi, thanks for the content! I have a corgi who suffers from separation anxiety and I feel guilty every time I leave him alone (just like you said in the video), you advise creating a safe environment so he doesn't suffer so much, the problem is that when we leave toys around the house he destroys and eats them... do you recommend any toys that he can safely destroy?
How do you train them to not chase after your ankles? Like it seems instinctual and I’m concerned I won’t be able to break that habit
Side note, what are you feeding her exactly? Looks like kibble with some toppers? Just plain veggies and a blueberry…? Getting a pup soon and was wondering if I should venture beyond just plain kibble at mealtimes.

My corgi potato LOVES her cat brother Merlin, their both playful, corgis are very friendly but it depends on the cat!
Any tips on how to introduce a new puppy corgi to your cat? We have a 3 year old cat who is very protective of the home so we are nervous about bringing the puppy home and introducing them!
Thank you so much, i recently got my corgi puppy Yogi and he is awsome, He already knows sit and shake (give you his paw). Do you have any advice on how to teach them to not run away from you when they are outside off leash?
it's going to take a lot of practice but you basically want to start by rewarding them with a treat every time they look at you when you're outside with the leash...let them walk a little bit and then call them and give them treats every time they come to you. You basically want to make them want to be with you! Not a very in-depth description though sorry lol!

You have an Angel my boy is block headed. He runs away from me. Knows his name and is a lovey , just a lovey. However, the sit command even with food he backs away. The collar and Harness are a large issue he shakes and cries. Finally I played with his collar with him and he thinks oh, this is fun , so we have passed that issue. Now for the Harness shaking and crying.... I have and will never hurt my loves I have had many dogs this one is so different in his thinking. The Harness is a happy thing he gets to go for walks, but this guy doesn't recognize this.
I just bought a beautiful boy corgi but I am having a hard time on when to know when he wants to eat or go to the bathroom. He loves treats tho but hardly eats his food.
Hes 4 months and I have three days with him. Help!

would you recommending isolating your corgi while training her from other dogs that are not trained if they live in the same house?
I would try keep your corgi separate during your actual training time, just because treats will be involved and you don't want to create any conflict or make you dog feel protective over those treats. But the rest of the time they're fine to be together and will help your corgi get used to being around other dogs :)
Would these work for an almost 2 year old corgi? We got our little guy 2 months before he turned 1 and we were his 3rd family in that first year. Prior two families were terrible and locked him up all day and night
Yes! These are just great basics and can be taught at any age :)
another tip for name learning is (especially if you have 2 puppies) say the name and tap/ grab that puppies

Hey, does willo love to play in the mud and in water? Because they say not to wash them. And don't want to have my girl to walk in with mud all the time
We have an 8 week old corgi and really struggling with the biting and ankle nipping. Any advice would be so appreciated!
I just got a Corgi puppy about a week ago, he was 14 weeks old, so we're behind on his training (which makes it kind of hard).. But we're currently doing the method of everytime he bites, get his attention (so he knows it's not a game or toy) then give him a chew toy and give him praise when he chews and bites the toy instead of us or the thing we don't want him chewing on. Also giving him treats sometimes when he chews the toy instead (not too much just to keep his calories down since he's actually kind of a lazy corgi..) 😅
@@Aragon3571 We definitely do the giving him a toy to chew when he bites and that helps a little. Our main issue with him is that biting the backs of our ankles when walking or playing outside 😣 Lord my ankles look like I’ve been attacked by a gator 🤣 So looking forward to colder weather and wearing pants! Otherwise he’s amazing 🤩

Omg these things bark like no other, been a Dachshund house for 16 peaceful yrs then spawn of satan shows up and I can’t decide if she’s half cat or half bunny but seeing she likes to sleep on my head at night I’m leaning towards cat-dog. They are definitely a different breed for sure
I'm actually shocked, cause I too had a dachshund house then adopted a corgi, and I'm amazed someone has one that barks more than a dachshund, of all breeds!
@@dormiebasne3578 got lucky mine aren’t yippy or nippy, they roll over on their backs for tummy ribs around new people and shake like leaves during storms
