    Willo is best known for being the corgi howling while eating! She is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi living in sunny Phoenix Arizona. She's been howling while eating since she was about 4 months old. We call the noise she makes an "Awoo"

    im considering getting a corgi as a service dog!! (tasks like retrieving things and alerting to my disability) i think honestly a corgi is perfect for what i need help with because it gives them lots of stimulation and a task!! i also am mobile enough to give one walks, and taking them out not only to be a working service dog but lots free time as well like walks, and going to the park

    So typical of her not wanting to go down the stairs once she felt it was "your Idea" to go down them!!! Corgi's love to do things on their own terms, they have that your not the boss of me mentality for sure! Great video! Just love this breed of dog! Cute, loud, feisty, smart, stubborn, short, and almost always food driven like me!!! That's why I tell people my Corgi Shiloh is my spirit animal! :-)

    Whenever I move to California I’m getting a corgi once we settle in! I live in NY right now and I don’t think it’s best time to get a pet since In Cali I’m moving into a pretty big house so my corgi could run around a play! I’m gonna spoil my corgi a lot for example getting lots a toys and my corgi gets a full on giant play room! Can’t wait even tho it’s a year away I’m getting ready so I know how to be a good pet parent! My mother has had lots of dogs in her life so she knows how to take care of them, her recent dog lived up to 14 years! I found your channel best out of all! I love the way you treat Willo! I got a year or less more to learn!

    Great general video about dog care. Entertaining and both of you are so cute. I would love to go to a raw diet for my dog but my partner is concerned about bacteria. So we compromised and I grill chicken and mix it with a bit of high quality kibble and canned food. We think she's part Corgi and Chihuahua. We rescued her when she was 11 years old. Regardless, she's still in good health. Thanks for all the good information.

    We are bringing home a 3 month old Welsh Corgi in two days. We will be feeding her raw food as we have all of our other pups we have had. No issues I am concerned about over feeding though so will be monitoring how she goes. Raw has no fillers so far less allergic issues too.

    I'm bringing my Corgi mix home on October 5th and these are really helpful! My baby has her tail and I think it adds to her cuteness! Her mom is a Pembroke Corgi while her dad is a miniture Australian Shepard but she's gotten a good mix of genes from both so I'm excited to see how she looks as she gets older.

      I had a Corgi/German Shepherd mix and she was a real sweetheart. She looked like a Shepherd but the legs gave her away. She had the most beautiful bushy tail. What I loved most about her though was her personality.
      I have had two purebred Corgis and the sweetness is very obviously a part of their DNA.

    Hi Devon! I absolutely love your videos, they're extremely informative. I'm about to be a corgi owner myself. Quick question on the trimming of the nails, does this need to start immediately at 8 weeks?

    • @devonandwillo
      @devonandwillo  2 роки тому +3

      The sooner you start the easier it is to get them adjusted to it. I didn't start Willo at at 8 weeks but if I got another puppy I would start desensitizing them to the dremmel at 8 weeks! just do things like give them treats for touching the dremmel and for being calm around it when its off and on!

    Hi Devon, I love your videos and love Willo! I’ve been considering getting a corgi for many years now and the only thing I’m wondering about is whether you find that Willo smells like dog often? I know breeds like golden retrievers get very smelly very quickly due to the oils their bodies produce, but I’m wondering if corgis are similar? So far what I’ve found on the internet seems to be contradictory so wanted to ask you and anyone else here who owns a corgi if they think the breed is particularly smelly? Thanks!

    Hi Devon! Thank you so much for your informative videos. I became a corgi owner for the first time about a month and a half ago. He's now 9 months old. He is very active and jumps up on everything! People, couches, high
    beds! Any tips on how to stop all the jumping? Im worried he's doing damage to himself in the long run. Thx.

    • @devonandwillo
      @devonandwillo  2 роки тому +1

      Ahh yeah that's rough! Do you have stairs for the couch and beds at all? I know they would prefer just to jump and he's a puppy so he has a ton of energy... I would just work on training him not to jump off and on high things by rewarding him with treats. At his age he's probably fine but the more you work on it the less he'll do it :)

    • @devonandwillo
      @devonandwillo  2 роки тому +9

      Ooooh this is a great video topic idea but I'll give you a few things I can think of off the top of my head! Definitely things like teaching them to wait (before eating) teaching them leave it, place (or go to your bed), sit, heel (walking next to you on a leash) and setting overall boundaries for them! An example of boundaries would be not letting them past a certain point in your house before you open the front door, not walking through doorways before you, etc

People seem shocked when I tell them how much my corgi weighs (32lb) vs my corgi/border collie mix weighs (26lbs). Both dogs get the same amount of food and maintain their weight on that.

    Hi! Looking to get a corgi in a few months :) just wondering, if I’m wanting to get a red and white corgi but when they’re puppies they’re different colours. Should the breeder know which puppy will end up red and white? :)

    Hi Devon! I just got my 8 weeks old corgi puppy a week and a half ago. She learns super fast but she's a handful ahah. She's nipping and biting a lot when she's excited. Any tips for this ? I'm trying to enforce naps because she has a tendency to be excited all the time and forgets to nap. But it's hard to pet her, she's always trying to eat my fingers :')

      Nipping is just something they do as puppies and for the most part you have to wait until they grow out of it, but freezing toys like kongs and other rubbery toys is a good way to keep them busy. Also a whole frozen carrot with keep them busy for a while and give them something to bite on!

    My Pembroke Welsh corgi loves boiled chicken I was wondering if you cook the raw food or if you feed her uncooked I would like to start him on a raw diet but.. I don't know where to.stsrt because I have a piece picky boy.
    As lately I have noticed he has been chewing at his back heels and his anal gland areas we have had him since 2018 and he is my first corgi and my first dog so he is a extra special boy to me.

      You should try the Stella and Chewys freeze dried raw patties! They make feeding raw really easy! I use them as treats for other dogs and they're all obsessed with them so I think they'd pass the picky dog test :)

      Tell your mom to stop! She can't do that. You can't discipline dogs by hitting them! She has no heart! Look up some methods of training dogs in a productive and kind way, not by abuse. If you know your mom is going to hit your dog and you won't protect your dog from her, then DON'T get a dog. Let a person who loves dogs get that puppy, not you.

    Hate to break it to you, but both corgi breeds are born with tails (except a few that's being born with a short tail, but it's unusual) and the puppies gets their tails docked when they're 2-5 days old.
    This is illegal in a lot of countries and I think that we should all spread the awareness about the fact that they actually have a tail, so that people can be aware of how their puppies gets treated at the breeder.

    Purina is one of the worst dog food brands. You should really feed raw. Kibble/dog food is terrible for dogs. Its not food. You wouldn't feed your kids cereal everyday or chicken nuggets so why do that to your dog. Dogs benefit from food just as much as people do. They are meat eaters should be eating raw meat and eggs and fish.
