You are smart for your age..I’m 66, and I’m through with negative people and negativity! You’ve got your hubby and family…my husband passed away 2yrs ago,and I’ve been alone since…I’ve embraced my wonderful life with no worries and have made positivity a habit!

Carnivores definitely stand alone. Immediate family can be difficult… They used to think I was crazy with keto. Now with carnivore they are adjusting after seeing results… Still can be difficult at times!

For real! My family have been the only ones out of everyone I know who have criticized me for this! It’s been almost two years and they have seen how much healthier I am and how much weight I’ve lost, but as soon as I say no thanks to some vegetables it’s all about how I need a balanced diet and blah blah blah… Thank goodness for all my friends on UA-cam and other social apps, friends that I’ve never met and probably never will. 😂 But at least we have each other!

I'm so grateful for you, your transparency, your vulnerability, your encouragement, your honesty. I'm just really grateful for you, Amanda. I was doing really well for 6 months and felt the best I have in years. For the last three months, I have allowed my addiction to win a few days a month. For the last three nights, I have been binging again...alone. I feel terrible (physically). I'm not sleeping well. I've gained back several pounds. It just goes to show...every day is new. Every day is a struggle and a fight. I'm never going to be "over" my addiction or my desire to binge. It will always be with me. I just have to make sure I have enough tools in my coping toolbox to deal with whatever emotional event I am treating with carbs.

      I know…
I tell myself “ you are a carnivore! Is this what a carnivore does? No? Then that’s not for me!
Don’t tell yourself you will always be what you were. No! You and Amanda and all of us are carnivores.
      It’s worth the lifestyle change!

Dr. Wayne Dyer says: Whatever you tell yourself becomes true for you.
Tell yourself that you are able to overcome your addiction. One day at a time. And that it will be easy! Know that you are so loved and supported. Totally accept, love and be good to yourself. You are awesome, you know. Shine your light, beautiful you ❤

I now have no laundry baskets. We take our laundry down to the washer every morning where it makes a load about every other day. I also fold my laundry out of the dryer and take up you our room to put away all warm. It makes such a difference, no piles, weighs nothing, and makes me take an extra trip up and down stairs

I'm not ashamed, I take my condiments with me. LOL I have no issue whipping out my hot sauce in BWW (or anywhere else for that matter). And we have to be so careful about who's around us because it's so very impactful. I've realized more and more how I have to really guard myself against 'casual influences' - I'm really fighting for my life through diet and mindset. So no, I can't have the random foods and going to various restaurants without researching what I can have. We're the sum total of those we hang around with the most, I've heard that multiple times, and for the first time in my life, I'm taking heed to that and being mindful. It does take a special strength to really walk a carnivore path - especially if there's no in person support. We go against all the grains of what's around us. Whew...

You're absolutely right,I had to distance myself from my own family because they were negative influences in my life full of drama and bad habits,If its anything I hate it's criticism that has no positive affirmation or helpful advice. If im going to be around people its going to be people who support my goals to those who tell that you're no good, you're wrong or you do something they're probably talking about themselves. Aloha! I love your story Amanda
Low carb has changed my life and I have always been heavily meat based since I started in Dec 2022 but I’ve been closer to carnivore as the time goes on.
I initially started for major fatigue, insulin resistance and mental issues I was experiencing, I had always tried to lose weight but at this point I was over trying as I felt I had tried everything. I started feeling so much better after 2 weeks and continued to eat this way, I started to get a lot of compliments about 5 months in and everyone kept asking how much weight I lost but since it wasn’t about weight loss I hadn’t been checking (doc did weighed me in @ 215lbs 12/22 I’m 5’9)
After 8 months, so many asking how much weight I lost and my shorts completely falling to my ankles I decided to hop on the scale and to my surprise I had dropped 47 lbs!
I’m now down 50lbs, I cannot believe how effortlessly the fat comes off with this way of eating and I feel so much better.
I’m so passionate about it and would love to help others who are interested!! I have some friends and family members that have asked for info and now eat a similar way.
There is so much fluff and misinformation out there but when you look at the basic nutritional needs for a human.. meat based is the absolute way. Prioritize protein, Don’t fear fat & Control the carbohydrate has really helped me (quoted from Ben Bikman Phd)
I always thought meat was so bad for me but I still ate it because I just loved it! I saw it as chocolate cake, I was so misinformed and I’m not trying to change anyone.. I just want to help others that also love meat and think it’s bad for them and let them know if they ate more and cut the other stuff out.. it may just change their lives!!
I’ve struggled with emotional eating and sugar/carb addiction and this way of eating has saved my life!!
Does anyone have any recommendations on how to start a UA-cam video? Wondering if I should start with my story and if there’s a better way to go about it!
    Mahalo!

Hey Amanda! Thank you for your encouraging videos. Im a 66 year old lady and started carnivore on July 3rd. I was doing really well until I bought some cheese. I think Im stalled, so out with the dairy (except heavy whipping cream for my coffee). I know what you mean about others wanting to share a meal. Lol...my son who is 26 is always offering me pizza and pasta and various sandwiches. I gave in a little bit at first and drank a sugary drink. It was nasty! Lol...had to throw it out because it was sooooo sweet. Anyways, its hard knowing Im not reducing my weight right now. Thank goodness I feel better or I might have quit. I started at 252 lbs. I dont weigh so Im not sure if Ive reduced my weight but my clothes feel a bit better. Again, thank you for all you do!❤

      Keep on keeping on! 😊

Peer pressure sucks. And it even happens as adults. I've came to the conclusion some people like to sabotage us because they're jealous of the progress and fear they will no longer be the center of attention. And yes I agree, our success makes them look at themselves and realize they could do better if they put in the effort.

Great vid! And I also like Dr Berry’s vid about the “sugar pushers”, it has really helped me! Btw I got rid of clothes that I do not absolutely love, and it was freeing and now laundry time is so much easier! Plus the Walmart thin flat white (no velvet covered as it rubs off in a mess) plastic mainstays hangers are cheap, 10 in a pack, awesome and gave me even more space in my closet without crushing my clothes to death.

👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 @ Amanda, I’m looking for your video that you did where you had the 17 (?) Co-mobidities which you had been labelled with written in white writing, and in which you were giving us an update after having been to a doctor’s appointment and where you told us that the “die-ab-ate-us” (my silly-serious coinage) had been rebuked/retracted. Could you please point me to it because I think you might have changed the names and/or the thumbnail photos on some of your vids and thus I am not currently finding it. I called BWW a couple of weeks ago to ask if they use 100% tallow and the gentleman I spoke with read the ingredients and as he started to read the ingredients he said I can’t pronounce one of the ingredients and he also said there was BHT in the ingredient list. So, no more BWW for me I’ll just make mine at home in my air fryer. Unfortunately BWW does not use 100% tallow.

    • @ARefinedMe
      @ARefinedMe 11 місяців тому +2

That is probably the ingredients list for the sauces, maybe? Also, there are a few of the BWW locations I have heard do not use tallow because they use a shared kitchen, I think in Atlanta, per the website. But the majority use “beef shortening” which I understand to be tallow. I do have inflammation if I have wings cooked in oil elsewhere, (which is sometimes the best available option anyway if I’m traveling). I do not have an inflammatory response to wings from BWW - so my body is okay with whatever they are using.

Hey, we are allergic to (fill in the blank) because eating those things makes us swell up. We retain fluids and get puffy; we are fatigued when we eat _____; we have joint pain; we get stomach aches, headaches, heartburn, restless sleep, blood pressure trouble, what else??? This is why we have discovered through trial and error that we must eat the way we do. For some it’s strict carnivore while others can do keto with certain plant based foods/condiments. For some people just smelling certain foods can trigger allergic response (think air born seasonal allergy ) (think eating binge). People understand a diabetic declining birthday cake and a alcoholic declining invitations to the bar. They just don’t understand that our diet is based on our health needs ( they may benefit from a eating style change but don’t know it). “I recently learned I’M ALLERGIC TO THAT. “

Word of caution!!! I eat those wings occasionally and noticed a strange feeling the next day. The server recently told me they fry everything in it - including their fried foods, french fries, onion rings etc that are frozen with inflammatory seed oils which in turn saturates that so called tallow oil. So BWW really is not a healthy option for us.

I've been saying this now for awhile...THIS DOES NOT work the miracles it seems EVERYONE is saying. I'm in this now for 8 weeks and i got nuthin...pain, same..weight, same..sleep, same.
I ONLY eat beef, pork, chicken, the only thing i don't eat is the fat. Fat gags me. But as i have gone along i have kept eliminating til all that's left is seasoning.

@winterwhe8t779 It would help if you can eat fat. Find one that doesn’t make you gag, like ground beef 72/25, or just tabs of salted butter. It sounds like you are eating pure protein, which isn’t great for you - you really need a good amount of fat. Good luck!

The best advice I was ever told when I started this way of eating - your body needs to heal. The first 8 to 10 weeks your body is adapting and you may not see results. Also, some folks are sensitive to pork and chicken. Please don’t give up. Try eliminating one thing at a time like chicken or pork to see if that helps.

I bet your friend will never admit she sabotaged your health. She'll say, "But I didn't *make you* eat that chinese food." Etc.
I think one of the reasons Family and friends sabotage your progress that way is they have a fear of loss.
That's essentially what jealousy is: Fear of Loss.
In this case, it's weird, cuz their fear is not that you'll be better than them, but that you will Move On and leave them behind... and leave them alone. They want to hold you back, because they want to hold you close; they don't want to lose you.
Perhaps, also, they have a superiority complex and, subconsciously, they realize you are actually better than they want to perceive you to be. Possibly they want you to always fit the mold you have always fitted and, thus, always fit the ROLE you have always played in their lives. It seems to me there is a bit of Narcissism in that. And Possessiveness, too.
They don't think of themselves as an "Enemy" because... they love you... right?
But do they? Do they love you... or do they love having you... possessing you? Do they just love what you do for them?
I have friends who quit drinking alcohol. I don't offer them drinks or pressure them to indulge.
I have friends who quit smoking weed. I don't bring them weed or pressure them to join in.
I have friends who quit doing hard drugs (crack, crystal) and I don't offer them drugs.
I congratulate them for quitting and encourage them to continue doing the thing.
I don't sabotage my friends, or Family... because I CARE.
