If I remember correctly, in the same mission where you go to the top of the windmill, there are these giant goop balls rolling down the path. But if you spray them with water it's revealed that they are just giant piranha plant heads that are covered in goop. So the question is do they count as touching a piranha plant?

For Mario 64, there’s a Pirahna Plant much closer to the start of Whomp’s Fortess, in the grass next to a flower bed a bit to the right of the start position. Unless it’s not there when you select the first star for Whomp’s Fortress? There’s that pesky possible Mandela Effect…
I remember there being one over there in Galaxy 2 for sure, but I've never played 64 so I can't really confirm.

Yeah there is always a Piranha Plant at the start of the level, guess he just forgot

Fun Fact: In Super Mario Bros., level 1-1 is hardcoded to not have Piranha Plants in any pipe. Outside that level, every single pipe in the game has one, and if it doesn't, that's only because the game's sprite slots are full. However, the devs specifically made it so there aren't any in 1-1. If you play the same level in a glitched world (basically any world past 8, which you are not supposed to reach and which can thus yield very interesting results, but some are just normal levels like 1-1), there are piranha plants in the pipes because it's not 1-1 anymore

Fun fact in Super Mario Sunshine, In level 1 of Bianco Hills, you don't need to beat the goop plant. Petey Piranha is in the stage and you can just go all the way up to him straight away. It's one of the only shines you can just do out of order right away.
IIRC It's even a little easier since you don't have to clear all the goop

No pirahna plants will spawn in 1-1, it’s programmed like that
But all 1-1 copies in the “minus realm” will
There is one after you go through the pipe and exit it
Your videos are such a great example of taking a silly question and making a great story that happens to be very informative.
You may have stopped me from correcting you on the Venus Fire Trap in SMB3, but you can’t stop me from correcting you on the Superball Flower that you called a Fire Flower in Super Mario Land, you probably mildly embarrassed duck.

The non-piranha plant thing in Mario bros 2 is called a Panser (pan-zer)
You can actually skip Bianco 1 and go straight to the Petey piranha fight.
In Sunshine, you don't have to complete chapter 1 in Bianco Hills. You can directly go to Petey Piranha even in chapter 1.

There's actually a piranha plant in world 1-1 just enter the 4th pipe and exit then walk on the stairs and you'll see a piranha plant

I think in the original super Mario bros there is a piranha plant in every pipe but there’s a flag to not spawn them in world 1-1 and most of them get despawned by other enemies

There are Piranha Plants lining the path to the Big Windmill in Super Mario Sunshine. You don't need to go all the way up to Petey.
SMB2 Note: You can also do Cobrats in vases, because you can go down them.
I’m surprised in Sunshine you didn’t count the piranha plants that spawn out of the goop in Bianco Hills as eligible (not the Polluted Piranha which is the one on the airstrip) since after spraying them just a bit they look just like regular piranha plants, just a little bloated with water. But maybe you didn’t know about these, they are a lesser know enemy

Fun fact: not only is there not a Piranha Plant in SMB1 1-1, there's a Piranha Plant in every single pipe in the game... except specifically if the level you're playing is 1-1.

I have an idea that's kind of stupid you have to touch literally anything in every Mario game but the catch is the cutscenes and the title screen count as your time to be honest I don't care if you do this or not because it's a really dumb idea anyways
