Haha I love the clips from the end that shows how hard it is to record a video and your effort!! that made my day, thank you for the honesty! now I understand it also takes good practices for the bloggers to talk so fluently
Thank you, I don't know how the bloggers/podcasters do it
@@northerntesla I dont know either, but what you did is already amazing! thank you!
The absurdity of a car I paid tens of thousands of dollars for telling me which of its features I am allowed to use, tracking my movements and eyes, and spanking me like a bad puppy for breaking the rules, is beyond all belief. I didn't realize how desperate to be subjugated you needed to be to own a Tesla correctly. You seem like a nice dude, but this shit isn't healthy. Thanks for the info though.
Blame the NHTSA for this nonsense. They aren’t as strict with other manufacturers yet they constantly harp on Tesla
I've never had a ban or strike I don't understand what others are doing to get them it's common sense
@@dabbingduskullz Simple. You are trying FSD for the first time in your life. Oh wow, this is cool, I can take my hands off of the steering wheel. This blueish thing goes on on the screen, but I have no idea what this means. Next it is red and it gets disabled. Would be good with there was some audio chime to let you know that your attention is needed someplace. I can see in the video it beeped at him, but I do not recall that when it turned blue on me (have M3 2024). I was not staring at the screen when it turned blue, my son mentioned it. Would be good if it came with a video training before you can activate it.
yeah well it has to be or every single shitty and stupid and dumb driver would end up never paying attention and then get into a 1 in a billion scenario and kill someone. If you behave the same way you do when driving normally then you wont ever get banned. Except honestly by the way you sound complaining about this you probably drive while on your phone anyway so of course you aren't going to like actually following the fcking law.
Woah god forbid an experimental never-before-seen technology that's "Out of beta," controlling a 2-ton machine, going up to 60 mph, driving within a few feet of other traffic/pedestrians, and used daily by people who are likely to do stupid things, have safety features that try to prevent some danger. No one's desperate to be controlled. If you don't like safety features or basic common sense that leads to safer road conditions because "Aw shucks I'm turning into a submissive girly girl because of my seatbelt and backup camera," then don't comment about things saving lives and making people feel better with their mandatory to own in the USA death machines.
With FSD technically no longer being in beta, I am surprised that drivers can still be locked out of it for a week. That should have been a beta only feature.
They have to dissuade abuse somehow. My question is if you’re paying a subscription, do you get a $25 refund?
I just bought a brand new model y I've had it for one week. Use FSD everyday and I already have three strikes. All three have been at night time and I'm always looking forward and I use a little scroll wheel every time the blue light starts flashing. I'm thinking maybe the inside camera can't see me that well at night 🤷♂️. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong
same here
Very helpful video. I bought a Model Y 3 weeks back and already have 4 strikes on my first month free trial of FSD. Once the free one month FSD is over and if after that, I sign up for monthly subscription, will the strikes reset to 0?
Planning a trip and that's why want to subscribe but dont want the strike count to start at 4 and then get locked out right at the start of the trip.
I’m not sure if it will reset. My suggestion is on the last day of the trial, purposely get your fifth strike, you’ll then start your week suspension. Hopefully that is before your road trip. But be mindful that you’ll also lose regular autopilot during that suspension. When 12.4 is released you’ll be able to get rid of strikes
@@northerntesla thanks. I did 5th strike on purpose but had to do it during free trial period so that my one week suspension was over before the trip. Do you think Tesla would give me additional week of free trial. And how n where can i reach Tesla customer service?
I highly regret updating my Tesla to a version with Autosteer Suspension. This new version senses wheel weights etc being sold online and you get strikeout for cheating.
Since there's no way back to the previous version, I'd to improvise. Now I've unlocked Elon Mode (I won't mention the details), where I never ever need to touch the steering wheel whilst on Autopilot and the car doesn't sense that I'm cheating ☺️
Engineers might be smart. But some consumers might be smarter 😎
FSD 12.5 doesn’t require you to touch the wheel. Everyone has Elon mode now
@@northerntesla not in Europe. And the MCU1 is way behind MCU2 in regards of functions.
Idk if this is the fact in the US, but on Europe, we still struggle with strikeouts.
Let me guess, is that a weighing object? they sell things like that on TB where you can cheat the system. I didn't look into it because I hand on wheels, but very unfair to suspend my FSD due to it took me a bit long to finish my lunch that I had to hold the bowl up which probably blocked the spying camera. =(
I’m currently in “Tesla jail”. We went on a day trip to Niagara Falls and while driving, I was showing my nephew from Italy, some of Tesla’s features on its screen. Because I was on the highway, and there was very light traffic I didn’t think I was doing anything unsafe but Teslas lawyers must have . Also, I didn’t really understand the strikes system. My question to anyone out there is when you do get strikes, do they ever reset after a certain amount of time?
The latest FSD update includes a strike reset system where for every week of good driving, one strike will be removed.
I have a Model Y, the jerking of wheel every few minutes is annoying. I do not think Tesla auto drive will ever working perfectly unless all cars have auto drive and can communicate with each other
That would be ideal but in the meantime this is pretty good
Why are you jerking it? Just resting your hand on the wheel so it resists the slight movement is more than enough.
Or give one of the scroll wheels a nudge. That will also clear the nag. With a light hand on the wheel I have driven well over 100 miles with no nags. You can also nudge a scroll wheel every so often proactively.
In other cars you can clamp a small weight on the side of the steering wheel to make it pull that side down just a bit. That is enough to fool the system that you're still holding the wheel.
This is ofc not recommended, but you do you...
I got a strike when I was sitting at a red light checking my phone. Very annoying.
Did you have many warnings prior?
@@northerntesla it was strange. All the warnings were kinda rapid fired at me while I was sitting there
Great video
Thanks!
I get a warning looking out the front window.
It’s really sensitive now. Now that we have strike forgiveness I’ll do a test to see what’s changed
4:34 for the info
FSD trial for everyone in the USA.... 😔
Canada too! But I don’t think that helps your situation.
If you don’t have a Tesla… settle down. The warnings hopefully save lives. I use it and like it a lot. I hate highway driving and I use fsd to do the heavy lifting. I’m ready to avoid human error. It’s not perfect and it drives better than 75% of the texting folks, makeup while I’m driving folks, I’m way too old to be driving but my kids and grand kids don’t love me folks… 😆 that’s too much.
Yes it’s not perfect but drives better than some
Lol my model Y yells at me more than my wife. I can't even look at my phone while on autopilot because it starts complaining to look at the road. I've been banned from auto pilot "for the remaining drive" about two times in the last week. LOL!
Get a screen phone mount. You’ll still get the occasional warning but far less than holding the phone in your hand.
"I can't even look at my phone while on autopilot"
Where did you get your license?
@@logitech4873 at your moms house 😂😎
I wonder if tesla's camera could be fooled like they used to fool security cameras and you just take a looped video of you using fsd normally for like 20 seconds and then play it to the camera on a loop and then it cant see that you're not looking at the road. or maybe just a photo of you looking at the road since sunglasses work. you still need weight for the steering wheel tho.
