We just bought a 2022 Powerboost F150 and this has been the most informative video that I have seen about my truck. I found out things, like 6 pages of radio presets, that I did not notice before. After have this truck for several weeks now and getting 25mpg, I am quite impressed! Great job on this video, and looking forward to see the other ones you did on this truck!
@@OutofSpecReviews it’s an amazing vehicle. So versatile for every day use. More practical than the Tesla for me. I’ll miss certain aspects of the Tesla, the f150 is so comfortable to drive.
I tow a 37ft travel trailer with my 2012 f150 Ecoboost max tow. I think it's a good idea I want the plug in hybrid one so I can hook up trailer to the inverter and go boondock camping with the rv I think Ford is way ahead of the curve on this one I think it's a great application
I would say the all-electric F150 will convert a lot of truck buyers to EVs. The vast majority of truck owners I know rarely use their trucks to their full abilities. Here in Oklahoma they’re just normal commuter cars for most people. It’s a cultural thing. A nice new F150 is something of a status symbol. For those that use trucks as a commuter car and only occasionally haul/tow (most owners I know), it makes sense. A lot of people around here, including some pretty country people realize electrification is coming and that it’s the next big generational change to cars. I for example, know some people who are holding off on buying a new car until the right EV comes around because they believe a new ICE car would basically depreciate into being worthless by the time they trade it in or sell it. If Ford can put together a good looking, quick all-electric F150, I bet it catches on around here.
I just watched this while sitting at Monaco Ford while my Ranger is getting serviced. I really had to resist going into the sales department and ordering one!
Truck buyer here - definitely looking forward to more electrification in trucks. I wish Ford had skipped straight to a plug-in Hybrid with the PowerBoost. All that Hybrid tech - how hard could it be to add plug-in capability?
Was thinking about this too. I would have preferred a PHEV option but I think this gives enough functionality and a taste of electric for most truck buyers to feel comfortable buying it
I have the same sentiment. Even if it wasn’t a monster battery, a plug-in would have netted a monster federal tax credit. Huge missed opportunity. I still plan to buy a PowerBoost shortly though.
The problem with PHEV trucks is they would require a much larger battery, which would significantly add cost and weight which would reduce acceleration, payload and towing capabilities. Trucks sell on numbers and thd hybrid offers very little compromise in terms of capabilities versus gas and diesel powertrains with the added benefit of much better city fuel economy and an available 7.2kW inverter.
Kyle, I have a 2017 90d and considering this truck highly. If you might … if you had a 2017 90d (fully upgraded to everything it can have , fsd beta etc) or this truck. Which would you honestly pick?
I'm eager for truck electrification. I have a 2003 Tacoma and am watching the market for it's replacement. My plan is a BEV pickup and I'm currently watching the Rivian R1-T and the eF-150. However, I'd consider a PHEV for those areas where charging infrastructure isn't ready for BEV pickups. This hybrid F-150 is a step in the right direction but I'd really rather see it as a PHEV. Once the eF-150 and R1-T are out and tested, we'll see if they will satisfy all of my needs.
I love this truck; still trying to decide whether I want to spend that much. This truck would certainly add a little more enjoyment to my retirement years.👍
@@dickschwede8096 Mine is getting it's second oil change, I love it too. I can complain about the wireless charger, that's about it. It's quick as shit.
You know Toyota missed the opportunity to come up with this when they’ve had a hybrid for how long now?? But glad to see hybrid power being put to good use which is exciting and no range worries no worrying about finding a plug to generate anything. The best of both worlds right here will always be better than one
Other than the connectivity in the bed, what’s the point of hybrid if the engine kicks on every time u go faster than a parking lot crawl? I’d rather have the high output like the 19 and 20 limited.
My gas mileage has not gotten over 16 MPG. Very disappointing in this! No where near 24 MPG as advertised. I run in ECO mode most often. I’m not sure why they advertise as they do. I wish I knew who I could complain to other than my dealer as they don’t have a clue as to why..
If you dont mind , let me do the test , i at least know it is a truck , you seem to have "car" ingrained in your mind !! ... Let a truck guy do the test , they will know more than a car guy!!
What kills me are the hard-core truck guys that will say a truck isn't a truck unless it makes the truck sound. That alone shows you how backward thinking people think about the progress of the evolution of the pickup truck.
This guy must not be much of an RV or tow package person. Trailer routing is for avoiding low overpasses or bridges that your trailer might hit on another route. I just de-subscribed this rookie.

I’m a Tesla guy, non trucker person but, I was impressed with the demonstration, excellent job
People like you are what's wrong with the world.
For those that tow RV's, this truck gets 24mpg non towing. Towing max specs: 12,700 lb towing, 2120 lbs Payload
Generator is life
Great video! I've been a Chevy guy my entire life but this new F-150 caught my eye a few weeks ago and this just sealed the deal.
I just got one. I love it so far. Sold my Tesla model 3 for it. Never thought I’d do that.
That’s awesome! I seriously thought about selling my Tesla for it too. Such a useful vehicle! - Kyle

great video! was very helpful setting up my new truck
Happy to see Out of Spec reviewing this truck. Looking forward to more of this and some Tesla road trips.

Looking forward to know more about the Powerboost. Question though. Can you sleep in it overnight without using a gas with the AV on?
No every thing uses power.
What is the payload number listed on the door jamb? Thank you for your videos, always extremely well done.
Great explanation of some of the features. What colour is the truck...Black or Antimatter Blue?
KBCO, nice!

Whats the MSRP? And additional taxes in the USA.
