Great review. I appreciate the SD references. Higher interstate speeds and high winds is all we deal with. Very informative. Details that I was looking for
I just bought a 2021 King Ranch Power Boost Hybrid with only 4100 miles on it. A friend of mine traded it in for a new 2024 Lincoln. He didn’t drive very much, after he bought it, his wife passed away and he only drove it a view times. I don’t think anyone ever road in the back seats. I’m looking forward to driving this vehicle, I pick it up in a couple of days. Love to hear how your liking your vehicle now that it’s 3 years old and any problems you have had with it. Thanks for the Great Video 😎🇺🇸 I bought my truck this year and it’s a used lease that only had 4,100 miles on it when I bought it 3 months ago! I talked to the previous owner today and he said he only washed the truck one time because it always looked clean, it still does 😊
That Mac recline function is probably the best thing ever. If it's comfortable enough you could sleep overnight and save yourself the hotel bill on longer trips.
Still have my Dodge Durango 2009 Hybrid. I reserve the lightning F150 . Looking to the newer generation trucks. May get the the powerboost instead. This was the best review so far. Thanks
This is what the family suburb hauler looks like in 2021, never a payload unless you go to Lowes and back, tows 4 times a year, and costs $80K. At least rust comes standard on all 21' models

And I'm pretty sure the Denali is probably not going to be a truck you see all that often with a six and a half foot bed.
Oh by the way you're sitting here talking about Apples to Apples and you are comparing a Denali to a King Ranch when Ford's Top model is The Limited. You she probably be comparing it to an SLT.
I like how the ruler is centered between the wheel wells. The actual inside space between wheel wells is approx 50 inches and some change. neat. Also the 8 foot bed is available with the supercab, along with the single cab.
I love my 2021 King Ranch Powerboost Hybrid F-150. I’ve already hit 25 Mpg several times and it’s crazy, I get better gas mileage going faster, on the highway,I used to drive around 68 mph with my old 2009 F-150; but now with my new 2021 it’s gets far better gas mileage.
I've been given several delivery dates, and they've missed them all. Two days ago, the date was "5/4". Yesterday, it got updated... wait for it... "10/31". They pushed it out FIVE AND A HALF MONTHS. So, the trucks are sitting on lots getting weathered, customers are waiting for half a year or more, and Ford is reporting record profits on their overpriced vehicles. Dealers are putting second stickers on stuff they are able to put on the lots. This is short-sighted on Ford's part, and may well cost them in the long run.
Great review. I watched another video on this truck and several items were not covered by Ratti’s Rides. So thank you for the awesome review. I am gonna get this or the full-on electric lighting truck.
Very comprehensive real experience review. I learned a lot. I learnt to drive on a F100 so I love the F150s . Living in a third word country I am not sure how the Hybrid would hold up, so as impressive as it is I would prefer the V8 because I would be keeping the vehicle for at leat 15-20 years. Your advice please?
Glad to hear it! Considering the hybrid setup in this F-150 is pretty much new with no track record…I would also prefer the V8. The hybrid longevity would definitely make me nervous. Can’t go wrong with a V8 for the long haul
I hope they can make the running board on these long wheelbase a few inches longer in the back (it appears to be the same running board as regular short bed crews). And I agree that they need to move the auto-hold to a hard button, maybe move that 120V light into the screen instead.
I'm a tundra guy but with toyota ending the V8, I started looking at other trucks. I like the zone lighting, power on board, and other features but I will not pay 80 thousand for a truck, that's absurd but this truck is very nice.
Not only that I'm not surprised that the F-150 is the best selling car in the US for the last 40 years, I'm baffled why pick up trucks aren't the best selling class of vehicles in the world. The versatility, usability and in the last few years, even the style of a pick up truck, are above and beyond any other vehicle on the market. They are spacious, you can carry anything from the lumber to the IKEA furniture in the bed, they are comfortable, fast, you can go off roading.. What else can one hope to get out of the car? Yes I know that many city dwelers need a small efficient cars but for the majority of the people pick up is an all rounder, especially with different sizes one can buy. And now with the electric pick ups coming to the market, from the F-150 Lighting to Cybertruck to Rivian to Hummer, one is sure to find the one that ticks all the boxes.
So true! I think most people that never own one are because they were raised in cars and always relied on friends for trucks. If you take anyone who has never driven a full sized truck and let them drive it, they always mention how they could never own one because they are too big..
Great review sir! Enjoyed your presentation style. If Ford offers the Heavy Duty Payload Package with the Hybrid in their XLT I would uy one in a heart beat. WNt that extra Payload.
Haha seriously the black trash bag is creepy huh? Thank you and thanks for watching! We had a bunch of random things in the trash bags because it rained off and on a lot during the trip so they wouldn’t get wet
My only real complaint is that it is kind of rough starting up sometimes. It jumps from 1st to 3rd and with the engine coming on, it jerks. If you start easy or hard it doesn't do it. They need to tweak this. I also notice the brakes are pretty firm compared out our Explorer Sport. I got the 6.5ft bed with the Super Crew.
Everything I heard says the breaks do take getting use to, as the first portion of pedal depression, is actually doing the regeneration and charging the battery,. After that they say it feels more normal when you’re finishing breaking. You’re not the only one to bring it up, but it’s performing a function other than breaking and they say it can take a little getting use to. Let us know if you get use to it, as they say, and stop noticing it as much. Would love to hear, as I’m still waiting on mine.
@@olddognewtrix I don't mind it driving, but I find it very annoying sitting in drive thrus or long traffic lights. I tend to set the parking brake, but keep it in drive. This way I can remove my foot from the brake and tap the accelerator when it is time to move. On several occasions I was sitting in line and started creeping forward because I wasn't holding the brakes firmly enough, so I started using the parking brake. It would be embarrassing to roll into the car in front of me while reading emails in slow lines. lol
I have a 2022 Platinum powerboost. I love everything about it except the transition from electric to gas. I don’t like the bump, so I’ve nicknamed her the “jerky turkey”.
Wow! I just got my 2022 Ford F150 Lariat Powerboost and this review is spot on! Very informative! I have the B&O unleashed sound system but i can't hear sound out of my head rest. Any way to figure that out?
I have a Platinum with the long bed which is great. My only complaints are the bump you get when you take off from a stop along with a hesitation when it shifts from 1st to 3rd gear. It has a slight hesitation because it skips right over 2nd gear. My next complaint is the stiffness of the break pedal from the regenerative breaking. I can live with that but the clunk at take off is annoying. There is so much that is good about this truck but anyone thinking about getting one should drive it first, it is a little different.
Steve, I have the 21 Limited and have the same issues with the brakes being stiff you really have to get into it to stop, a little uncomfortable for my liking and the transmission is a little suspect, so I'm glad it's not just me.
I saw your Lariat review as well. What are your thoughts on the 5.5 box vs the 6.5 box? I ordered the 6.5, but not conference it might be a little long.
Thanks for watching them! I really like the 6.5 box because that extra foot seems to make a big difference with hauling things and the extra wheel base seems to improve ride comfort too. I didn’t get to spend as much time with the 5.5 f150 but this one didn’t feel too crazy long. It does get tight in some areas but it also seemed easy to park most of the time. Hope you enjoy it! 👍
only downside to the 6.5 is the turning radius for parking. it's better than the 5.5 in every other way. more stable towing, and rides smoother. not to mention the significant extra storage space. For a family of 5 that 5.5ft bed packs up tight quickly. 6.5 allows other items beside just suitcases. it also holds plywood much better.
I’m debating lightening or hybrid, currently have 3.5 eccoboost What I am wondering is at what point the electric motor does not come on ever 1. Tow weight 2. Payload
Mine at 80 mph averaged 22.5. Also the electric motor will come on if it’s flat and level even On the freeway. I have driven 118 miles and have 486 miles left in the tank. My “Old Truck” got 11.5 down hill.
Mine will switch to electric on the freeway at 80mph on the flat. Just bought it on the 12th of this month. Mine is a Crewcab Larait 6.5 foot box . It’s 0-60 is around 6.0-5.8 depending on traction
I'm thinking the same way. I thought I would order the Lightning, but I just had a family emergency that required me to drive ~450 miles having to stop and charge for an hour or more would have been a hardship. So I'm going the order a power boost when the ordering for 2023 opens up.
Ordered mine Feb 15, 2021 just check build was started April 29 and is held up for bed cover and chip problems. ,Due in August 24 , If you want one that is not already in the system it will be a 2022.
I really want one of these but I’m to old and can’t afford these Ridiculous prices ! In two years with the way our government is going, this truck will be a 100 thousand dollars!
1900 miles you haven't even break in your truck yet. Mine has 6000+ miles now, mileage got better than advertised. All truck mileages gets tanked when you go over 75, I still get around 20 driving at 80.
I've asked several people about the the weight scales. Do you know how to access it or is it a option. I have the Lariat 502A pkg. 7350# GVWR, trailer tow pkg.
I drove 2,600miles to Yellowstone and back. I got 49 mpg in a Honda Clarity PHEV. Plugged in twice. 98% gas motor. Ford nerds a plug-in and a bigger battery.
@@TheAnnoyingBoss the crack I get comes from a brother on Elm. I don’t ask what kind of crack it is. I drive a PHEV. It stands for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle. If you want to plug it in (like I did at home in California and also at a hotel in Montana) you can. If you never want to plug it in, you can do that too.
I have a Lariat 40/20/40 six seater on order. What were your thought on the productivity tray in that configuration? I'm worried it will feel cheap resting my arm on that plastic tray.
Very nice! I definitely like having the configuration in this truck shown, useful with day to day situations..but the 6 seater option is a plus too. I got to spend a little time with that as well and could see the benefit to it as well in addition to just adding the seat. The fold down shifter with this one really made me nervous about longevity..time will tell. If the hard plastic gets old, I'm sure there's some cheap adhesive pad you could put where you arm goes that wouldn't get in the way. One option could potentially be the old wrist pads that people put in front of keyboards..some have grips on the bottom and a squish pad on top. Enjoy your new truck!
Wow the hybrid looks great and has impressive power, but that fuel economy is still where my old 5.3 with a 6 speed is at. Not sure who this truck is intended for.
@@trp2413 true, although 90% of those trucks are going be grocery getters and pavement princesses. Still trying to figure out who the truck is for? Anyone who tows trailers frequently are going to go 3/4 ton or 1 ton.
Got mine today. I'm finding the noises at rest and low speeds are driving me bonkers. Did you find the brake whine or the pedestrian speaker sound insanely disturbing? Anyone else?
@@chadk9231 same. Embraced. I did end up finding out that I had a heat shield rubbing though and got that repaired. The electric sound is kinda cool now lol.
@@1998targa I guess maybe like a cordless Ryobi leaf blower. It's just a more steady hum versus a choppy combustion engine sound. It will stop bothering you soon don't worry. I did just see that Ford is issuing a recall for this heat shield problem though. The other issue I'm waiting on a solution for is my back window rattles with the music bass.
Unless you work for Ford , why don't you tell about the problem with the 3.5 motor ,? Water pump located inside the engine and when it gets older it leaks and water in the crankcase ruins the motor . Check it out on the internet .
I love everything about my platinum powerboost. There is a odd noise it makes when it is decelerating. A fluttering noise. Anybody have this same issue?
Cool truck, reviewers always seem still act like a 77,000 dollar king ranch is still going to be used for work. Ultimately most people that have to work with these truck aren’t gonna get any of the productivity features, ford locked so many of them behind expensive packages.
Not necessarily. If you're wanting the Hybrid engine with the 7.2KW Generator, you can get that on any trim as long as you get the Crew Cab ((Simply because there needs a place for the battery)). I forget which channel it was, but they bought the XL with the Hybrid and 7.2KW Generator. I myself have a special order for a Lariat with those.

Did i hear right? 77k? At that price, I'd expect an air ride suspension vs leaf spring. Is there an option for air ride or coil spring, to the least?
I really want one of these but I’m to old and can’t afford these Ridiculous prices ! In two years with the way our government is going, this truck will be a 100 thousand dollars!
You mentioned headroom. Moonroof seems to detract from that a bit. Can I ask how tall you are?
1900 miles you haven't even break in your truck yet. Mine has 6000+ miles now, mileage got better than advertised. All truck mileages gets tanked when you go over 75, I still get around 20 driving at 80.
That's a beautiful truck
Could you do towing review with it?
Nice truck. Great review!
I've asked several people about the the weight scales. Do you know how to access it or is it a option. I have the Lariat 502A pkg. 7350# GVWR, trailer tow pkg.
what is the fuel efficiency of the gas guzzler?
I can't find it on the ford official site.

I love ford f150 👍💚💛
I drove 2,600miles to Yellowstone and back. I got 49 mpg in a Honda Clarity PHEV. Plugged in twice. 98% gas motor. Ford nerds a plug-in and a bigger battery.
Wait you're telling me you had to pay for gas and still plug in? What Crack you smoking brotha 😂
Wonder if Ford fixed the 3.5L TT phaser issue on these engines? Hum?
I make my mother in law ride in the truck bed too
I have a Lariat 40/20/40 six seater on order.
WOW
Wow the hybrid looks great and has impressive power, but that fuel economy is still where my old 5.3 with a 6 speed is at. Not sure who this truck is intended for.
@@trp2413 true, although 90% of those trucks are going be grocery getters and pavement princesses. Still trying to figure out who the truck is for? Anyone who tows trailers frequently are going to go 3/4 ton or 1 ton.
What are your thoughts on leveling with 33" tires, still a smooth ride?
I have a limited leveled on 34s, and it still is a smooth ride
@@d.scottblacktopchanel5699 mpg?
Very excellento!!!
Can you get xlt, power boost, 6.5 ft bed , 302 group combinations ?
Can you?
Yes 100%
Most highways are getting 75 or 80 now so epa rating should be base on 75 speed instead 60 or 65
Agreed!
Ford isn’t first for full-size. GM had a full hybrid Yukon several years ago. But the Ford implementation seems much better.
Got mine today. I'm finding the noises at rest and low speeds are driving me bonkers. Did you find the brake whine or the pedestrian speaker sound insanely disturbing? Anyone else?
I’m with you on that, that electric sound and reverse sound is kinda annoying but I’ve been accepting it over all the other awesome stuff
@@chadk9231 same. Embraced. I did end up finding out that I had a heat shield rubbing though and got that repaired. The electric sound is kinda cool now lol.
@@Grubbbee Was it a sound kind of like a leaf-blower at a distance? Mine is making an annoying noise.
Yes. Exactly. Dealer says it's supposed to sound that way. It didn't do it when I test drove it and for the first 500 miles.
Unless you work for Ford , why don't you tell about the problem with the 3.5 motor ,? Water pump located inside the engine and when it gets older it leaks and water in the crankcase ruins the motor . Check it out on the internet .
What was mpg?
My old turbo diesel got the same millage with high winds high speeds
Yes, to bad they cramp all that emission shit on them diesels now, expensive and problematic
Enjoyed
is that mph? That was FAST
What fuel octane is required for this vehicle?
87 (although they recommend 91 when towing, which makes no sense at all to me)
I love everything about my platinum powerboost. There is a odd noise it makes when it is decelerating. A fluttering noise. Anybody have this same issue?
Transmission?
Is this model FOUR WHEELS DOWN FLAT TOWABLE behind a motorhome?
From what I’ve read they are but must investigate before purchase.
Yeah I want to use a $77,000 truck to clamp lumber to it and use a saw LOL I think not LOL! This is a real bad ass work truck LOL
Wow
The maverick should have been a power boost vehicle. He'll make it a diesel would help Highway mpg
The chromes on this truck would be seen from space
how far and fast can it go JUST ON EV MODE???
It’s not that type of hybrid
What grade of fuel is required? 93 Octane?
premium is not required
@@mitchrivara3180 Flex or E85?
How’s the excessive undercarriage rust? Many lawsuits pending at this time.
Driving 80 is too fast for my Truck.. Driving under 50 I'm getting almost 29 mph with my XLT
My 2022 F150 Lariat Fx4 Power Boost sold for $65,179.00
1,900 miles aint shit. How much will cost to replace the battery and electric motor when it fails?
I only get a week with them so I can’t offer long term info. Obviously reliability isn’t known yet since it’s pretty new but I can tell you it won’t be cheap!
It is not good for that engine to be coming on and cutting off. That’s going to be a lot of maintenance later on.
1200 pounds of payload seems very limiting
