Tying a Blue Flash Damsel - Stillwater Fly Fishing

The blue flash damsel is a fly that will catch you fish on any day of the year, and really is one of the most consistent patterns.
I mainly fish these as part of a two fly cast, with a cruncher or similar on the dropper.
Hook - Kamasan B175
Bead - Flybox 3.2 Brass Bead in Golden Orange
Thread - Uni 8/0 Olive
Tail - Damsel Olive Marabou (David Downie’s) and Damsel Blue Holographic Flash
Body / Rib - Flybox Fusion Olive Thread, Damsel Blue Tinsel, UTC Ultra Wire in Hot Orange
Hackle - Metz Cock Neck Hackle in Grizzly Chartreuse
Head - Veniards Glister Dubbing - Olive

Hi Chris, nice damsel , I’ll give it a go, might palmer that chartreuse hackle down the body, tied down with the orange wire, as you say there’s variants everywhere of the damsel and they all take fish . Regards Jimf
