The end of this match brings to mind a term from competitive AoE2: "Post-Imperial Age".
Post-Imperial Age (Post-Imp for short) refers to the stage of the game where both players are in Imperial Age and nearly all resources (mainly Gold) on the map have been exhausted. There are several powerful Civs in AoE2 who are insanely dangerous in Imperial that fall apart in Post-Imp because they lack decent options for Trash Wars.
"Trash" in AoE2 refers to units that don't cost Gold to produce, usually Spears, Skirmishers (Archery Range unit designed to counter other ranged units), and Light Cavalry, a "Trash War" is when both players have run out of gold and are forced to resort to primarily Trash Units with the occasional Gold Unit thrown in from w/e you scrounge from Trade.

Awesome game. I think its often over looked that the English late game composition is not very powerful even though their economy is. Sure they can often win through sheer economic force, however pound for pound their pop usage is less effective than many other civilizations. This is why I believe they struggle against the HRE even though they have similarly powerful late game economies.

Network of citadels + hand cannons + Chad at arms + shattering trebs is a really strong composition

Holy crap I completely forgot about Ribauldequins. Nice to see them being useful! The more options we have, the better, after all.
Also, Randy just moving down leagues of spears is very satisfying, in the same way mangos are. Although mangos are a bit scarier since you never know if they'll miss or wipe down the entirety of enemy ranged units.

I love Bee he is such a unique player and he stands out, his strategies are always crazy and it's apparent he has a different mindset from any other player
I was an English main that moved over to French when I learned of the improvements to chamber of commerce. Its basically 7 or so early traders for free which is easily better than the cookie cutter landmark
Disagree that it was an improvement. I'd take 30% trade buff over a few extra cheap traders any day.

Dude I don't believe Bee had like 5 huge W by the 20 minute mark and then Beasty stalled the match for 35 more minutes. Sure Bee choked a bit but nerf english lol

At 18:42, Bee gets +2 melee attack as soon as he ages up to castle age without queuing up the upgrade! How does that work?
French has a unique civ bonus that when you age up you get the melee attack upgrade immediately and for free, provided that you have built a blacksmith

Amazing the game lasted that long given that Beasty got jebaited by the trade multiple times and then found himself with most of the gold mines near Bee's keeps. I do wonder at what point Beasty could have started his own trade or if slowing down his aggression would lead to death via raids.
