Man you guys have taught me everything I know about how to rig lures to fish offshore. I have watched all of your clips and have my stuff ready. As soon as Florence leaves I’m hitting the water for the first time in my 76 Formula twin engine! Thanks I’m going to post my very first trip with a GoPro and hope I catch something! Thanks Jeremy in Greenville NC.
Go get 'em! - Capt Mike
About to head out for my first time offshore fishing and I have been watching all your videos....I feel confident we got this. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. This is very helpful
I live on the gulf in panama city are trolling leads a good alternative and ive been trolling a LOT but no knockdowns over about 10 hours of trolling and i always switch up after a while, any reccomandations ?
How deep of water are you trolling in? What baits/lures? What species are you trying to catch? - Help me help you. - Capt Mike
4:12 Hey Captain! Watch those crazy landed mahis with hooks in them.. they will bury it in your calf in a New York minute. I've seen it happen first hand!
I’ve learned that lesson the hard way
Hi to everyone question what is the speed that you go with these tipes of lures thank so much
I am starting to fish offshore in the Florida Keys but I can’t seem to find a dredge/holographic teaser for under $100. Is there any budget option for a dredge or is it worth saving up the $100?
Ive had excellent success with holographic teasers so I say save $$$$. Capt Mike
Florida Sport Fishing thanks Mike for the response. I will definitely save up for one and hopefully it will be in my spread soon!
@@FloridaSportFishing what do you think About a homemade dredge using 4 inch mini squid skirts
Capt. Mike, I noticed that you had your bait laying on top of ice. I'd always thought that the fresh water would degrade the bait. Do you not agree or do you go through bait so fast that a few hours on top of ice isn't gonna hurt them? Thanks!
Correct, I would never submerge the baits in fresh water, we lay them on ice but blow them in hours so no real detrimental effects. - Capt Mike
You dont need to hand line when planer fishing. Take 2 250lb wind on swivels make your bridal with those. Then take 2 250 lb double ended swordfish swivels cut 1 end so it slides into the holes on the wind on swivels. Now your mate just simply pulls your planer off the bridal and you reel it right on the spool👌. Few youtube vids showing how its done. The Gale Force twins have a decent explanation on their feed planer fishing vid. Only way to go imo & much safer
Even better than the bridle method is the rubber band/shower ring method. You don't even interact with the planer until the end of the day, plus it's much easier on all of your gear. Cheers 🍻
