Appreciate the comment! I’ve contacted Rough Country to let them know that the hidden mount fits the 02-06 Avalanches, so hopefully they’ll update their website information for folks looking to add a winch to their Avalanche.
Awesome find! I have one of the GMT1000 avalanches - it looks like they make the same style adapter for the newer ones, so I might have to give that a try too!
Just an FYI, 2007-13’s are GMT900’s. But yes, they do make a hidden mount for the 07-14 Silverado/Sierra models. Provided the front frame sections are the same between the Avalanche and standard trucks, it’ll work.
I just found this video and didnt know they made that part! I may have to get that for my 04 avalanche that like yours....is the without body armor version. Wondering if I can bolt a warn winch to that mount. Thanks for the video!
I’m not sure if it will or not; all depends on whether the front frame section is the same for the 1500 and 2500 trucks. A quick call/email to Rough Country would tell you. Just ask them if it’ll work on a ‘02 Silverado 2500. They told me it wouldn’t work on a 1500 Avalanche but they were clearly wrong (which I did let them know it works after installing it).
Awesome! Thanks for taking the time to show this set up. Looks good!

Very nice! I dig the red valve covers too! hahaha! Well done!

@TakeRoadsLessTravelled
Now you can’t do a front hitch receiver if you wanted to, right?
Correct, but I've also never wanted to do one, nor have a need to, so I'm good with that.
I’m installing this winch mount this weekend it’s a 5/16 drill bit? I can’t find the drill bit size listed anywhere but this video
Yes, 5/16 drill bit for those other bolt holes.
@@takeroadslesstraveled6505 sweet, about to go to the local ace hardware and pick some up and the forums basically just said read the instructions
@@takeroadslesstraveled6505 sitting at home now with 2 5/16 drill bits
What winch did you use and how do you access the clutch brake handle. Have an ‘03 classed that I’m wanting to do this with. Thanks
What your chances of getting winch snear catching on something!??
Never had an issue
i wonder if this still works on cladded models
it does
@@takeroadslesstraveled6505 awesome, thanks
Is the Rough Country mount made for their winch or is it compatible with other manufacturers? Thanks
It can accommodate any winch that utilizes a 4.5”x10” 4-bolt mounting pattern.
@@takeroadslesstraveled6505 Great Video, appreciate the details and explanation of the installation.
I understand this is a year ago but does anyone know if this mount will fit the 02 2500 av?
