I absolutely love my 07 ltz! I took out the midgate to allow a passthrough for my subs. For having 174000 on it, it still runs and drives very very well. Was a sad day when I found out that gm discontinued the line. It's that vehicle that has just enough room to haul something if you need to, but is a cloud to ride in on road trips, classy enough for date night, versatile enough for a camping trip. 12 years old and it still gets looks and compliments in public!
@@dillonh321 That's awesome. I think a lot of modern cars have party tricks will go completely unnoticed by second and third owners. I to never knew about that rear window system on the Avalanche.
It is one of the main reasons I wanted one. Found a good deal on a well-equipped 2005 (has the same midgate, bed, and toolboxes) and have been happy with it since! Fun fact, if you just have a shorter, long item (8ft lumber, for example) you can just open the bottom portion, leaving the glass in place. This combined with the bed covers means it is still all sealed from the elements! I actually used this when waiting to pick up a friend at the airport, laid down in the bed while still having full access to the passenger compartment.
I own a 2010 and just love it .I'm 73 years old and have owned many pick up trucks , non match this . will drive it until the wheel fall and then I will put them back and keep driving .

Pick a Parts are the best racket ever. Out here in California Pick n Pull is part of a metal processing company that converts the cars back to raw steel/iron. They also pull alternators, starters and other parts for the core values before crushing. In the 90’s there were enough vintage cars coming in for them to have special sections for them. The fuel issue is because the anti roll over valve in the bottom of the fuel filler neck is gacked up. The easy fix (might work) is to use the gas pump to work it loose by squeezing full blast, stopping, squeezing, stopping, and squeezing till the problem no longer persists. If that doesn't work, you may have better success taking the full hose off the tank and fingering it while it's still in the vehicle. If it's still sticky, add a pinch of fuel as a lubricant and keep going. If this fails and that valve is still sticky, then you may need a new tank rollover valve or whole new tank.
*Same thing as my 06 Cadillac EXT. if the hose kept cutting off while trying to fill it that's because the evap canister needs to be replaced. common problem with all of those trucks. I figured you would have used your Milwaukee cordless solder gun on that repair, I bought that because you had one, i wasn't even aware there was such a thing until i saw yours in fact, those sensors are usually $50.00 or more each*
The problem with fueling cutting out is with emission control device mounted mid Chassis up behind the spare tire. Sometimes you get codes P0449, P0455, P0446.
Every Avalanche owner has experienced the same problem with the gas pump shutting off. Personally I think it’s a Chevy design flaw caused by where they placed the screen to prevent you from siphoning gas.

Hey JR, if that cab extension is some what flexible plastic, try a heat gun and burn off the oxidation. While doing that process, it would heat up the polymer. I found that it only works on certain plastics. Mounding etc. it worked great, but side mirror plastics was a no go.
I think the fuel filling issue is a result of the filler neck's shape. My Tahoe at work does the same thing. I just reposition the nozzle out a little and it works fine.
Easy way to disable a park sense on that generation gm, locate fuse in box under the hood, pull fuse, disconnected battery for 10-15 seconds, reconnect battery and start truck. Did it on my 2012 being they hate life in the winters with snow and pulling trailers
I have the Cadillac and the setup is the same. Can you build a whole car from just the (similar) cars at the Pick-a-Part?
You were impressed by gravel road blasted fenders and quarters? I can top that. You get the same thing from 300k + miles of year round highway driving in the northeast in a full size ford van. If you run them around the clock they don't rust. Looks like sandblasted stripes that match the rain grooves in the tire. 😀
Like the vid👍Wonder if GM will ever bring these back?
Hey JR, you should check out my 04 GMC Envoy XUV. It has that feature like the Avalanche, and some more goodies 😉
The fuel thing may be the charcoal canister being plugged
You hit it on the money, it has been over filled so many times the canister is full of fuel. Simple to fix remove turn up side down and run the truck for a few hours.
Can also be evap solenoids are stuck
Clogged vent for the gas fill neck. Wizard said it's a know issue on his Avalanche video.
Great video - satisfying repair and a cool truck lol
