Notes (and spoilers) for those who haven't read the original version:
    1. This podcast leaves out the fact that Alice has heard the celestial entity's voice before: once when she was first examining the C4 in the field, and once when she was trying to reach the radio in Bluejay's car after Bluejay had shot Rob. When the entity says, "I've watched you questioning; I've watched you struggle," in the written version it conjures those scenes specifically, and the reader realizes that when she had initially heard its voice, it had been from this very conversation, reaching through the fractals of time.
    2. The celestial entity's physical description is: "composed entirely from electric arcs of brilliant, magnesic light which burst from a volatile and blinding central core ... its plasmatic tendrils snapping and crackling, bursting chaotically through the night air." So its appearance is like a giant galaxy-patterned tentacle humanoid. And yes, it is Alice, or what she will eventually become as she travels the road.
    3. The child-creature from Part 8 is speculated to be Marjorie and Rob Jr.'s unborn child, and Rob Sr.'s grandchild. The podcast changed its introduction to have it come out of a deer, but in the original, the stampede of deer were running away from it as it terrorized the forest. Marjorie's obsession with the road while she was pregnant likely led to the fetus becoming stillborn. She possibly left its remains in the forest and continued on the road until she met her own demise in the vast lake, where Alice eventually finds her.
    4. After Marjorie's body is buried and her spirit was finally able to confront Alice to obtain closure, it's heavily implied that she no longer occupies the 34th turn and that Rob has taken her place. Which likely means that he _did_ make it out of the silent city, but had to walk back through the tunnel. And it was established at the beginning of the game that you need to be in a car while passing through the tunnel to return to the normal world correctly.
    5. In the written version, while recording her good byes, Alice intends to leave her notes and sound clips to Tom, not Rob (though she doesn't explicitly say Tom's name). When Tom makes it to Phoenix, he drives around with the mirror shop as the starting point and inadvertently starts playing the game. As his route is in the reverse direction from the one the convoy took at the beginning, Tom's 34th turn takes him to Rob's street, and in the distance in front of Rob's house, he sees the silhouette of a man (implied to be Rob, who replaced Marjorie on the 34th turn). The tunnel also appears for Tom, and the story ends with him having to make a choice but hesitating. It is then reiterated that only Alice is destined to make the farthest journey on the road.

I've actually read the original before and i still really appreciated your explanations! For some reason i knew Rob was stuck on the road but i never put it together that he was Marjorie's replacement on the 34th turn.
Also regarding #1 i found it really strange that they included the entity saying "I've watched you questioning" during the c4 scene but didn't include "I've watched you struggle" while she was hiding from bluejay. Its like they forgot to put the line in, i actually took it back to see if i missed it when it was supposed to happen. They even put in the wind whipping around like the entity was about to speak and then it just didn't lol

Listening back to the beginning of episode one and the end of episode ten, the car crash sound effects are the same.
I think Tom is stuck in a time loop of waking up in the hospital and then crashing the car later when he tries to play the game.

Nah, our boy Rob didn't make it out. You said it yourself, he took Marjorie's place. Was Marjorie alive, then? No, clearly not. That's Rob's spirit. He has taken his rightful role of the ferryman, there to help those who wish to cross.

Great podcast, I enjoyed this so much week to week! I'll miss it, but did like the ending. Looking forward to the TV show. My big "miss" with this show is that I feel the action sequences sounded good, but weren't always clear. Some narration or description during or after the fact would've been nice.
Here are my interpretations of the end for those who care:
    * The being Alice interviews is herself from the future, in the form of a spirit deer (see the artwork). Future Alice pushed people into the game so that Alice would eventually get prompted to go. She showed Alice to Rob in AokiGahara, pushed Margery down the road to cause Rob to continue expeditions until he did this current one where Alice joined the expedition, etc.. Alice will continue on the road until she basically ascends, and then continue going further and further. Note that the being tells her it remembers when she says it doubts what it says, hinting that she's talking to herself. I'm sure it also sounds exactly like her for a reason. If you listen to the interview a couple times, it is quite interesting. Ultimately, she decides to push on down the road and never comes back, leaving a blankness where she was in our world.
    * Rob gets out and escaped the silent city. It sounds like Tom does find him at the end, although a little worse for wear. I suppose he ultimately decided that his time in that particular run was over. Rather than press onward, he retreated. He got about as much closure as he'll ever get, and seems to understand that Alice is the only one the other dimension desires. (After relistening, it sounds like Alice uses her powers to send him back so he can later be found.)
    * Tom's main purpose was ultimately to go find and help Rob. I do believe that Alice does care about him, but she doesn't want to be found. She only wants to help Rob one final time.
    * Worth noting that Tom followed the rules of the game, but an entrance didn't appear. Sounds like Alice or something within the dimension is satisfied and doesn't need or want anyone else to enter... For now anyway.

A pretty amazing analysis. I found this story a year ago as narrated by the Dark Somnium, and it features more narrative dialog than this version. The chaotic moments are more clear as I suspect it is a faithful retelling of the original reddit story. It would be interesting to see if you reached the same conclusions after listening to it as well. I think a repeat of it for me is in order now.

There is a serious lack of narration throughout the story. While I enjoyed the voices, there were many, MANY times where the only reason I knew what was going on was because I already knew the story. I loved the voices and the creative decision to make some of the narration into dialogue for the sake of the Left Right audio rendition. It honestly helped the story a lot to make it more comprehensive. It was lacking in some aspects however like the emotional impact of most of the character deaths are diminished. It’s not completely absent but it misses the mark on how dreadful Apollo and Eve’s death was considering the story breaks it down how terrible it was to watch Eve slip.
Also those scenes are really hard to grasp if the original story isn’t referenced. Like it’s hard to follow since all we have are voices to go off of.
The style reminds me a lot of The Magnus Archives so this was a very pleasant experience to me.

Ok, while I love the voice acting, and even though I prefer the original intros, I like the new changed intros, I really don't like the changes to The Silent City and Alice meeting Marjorie.
Like someone else here already said, the Silent City is supposed to be, well, silent. I get that there's limitations when you're working with an audio adaptation, but like, the silent humans shouldn't scream, that's ridiculous.
And the fact that Marjorie started choking Alice is just beyond insane. In the original story it's the conversation between a chosen traveler and a broken woman. Not someone out to kill, like wtf.
And the fact that Marjorie here just walks off and REJECTS BOBBY LOOKING FOR HER is just... WHY!?
Like I said, the voice acting adds a lot to this story, like Ace being towed and Clyde crying about Bonnie, as well as Clyde's conversation with Alice about his life with Bonnie.
But some of these changes were just unnecessary.
And like many have also said, there's a real lack of narration in this one.
I appreciate the addaptation, but the og story is better imo.

I think Tom sent all recording back to himself. Inside the tunnel is a different world and it has a different time from the real world. Tom forgot Alice before he got these messages which explains why Alice hadn’t contact Tom for a year. I think the car crash sound at the end is when Tom had the car accident. He was injured at the beginning, do you remember? I think they created a time loop or something. It’s a very nice story, but I’m confused sometimes(even listening twice will not help). I hope they can have a TV drama. It will be nice to watch it.

One thing I really didn't like is that Alice finds Rob before losing her arm. That part of the original story was really good, the tension was crazy cause you don't know if Alice is the only one left or not. I don't know if that was changed to accommodate the lack of narration but whatever the reason it detracts heavily from that part of the story.

Most of the story was pretty true to the original.
Not sure why they felt the need to change Tom's story and Alice's ancestry. Guessing Tessa just wanted to put herself in the story

This was kinda messy compared to the original, I dunno why people always feel the need to change the original. Many things added or removed did not really make sense and felt unnecessary. Also you guys really need to narrate stuff I have read the original but anyone who has not is gonna be completely lost so what's the point of this?

This version is a farce and a stool sample vs the original and Dark Somnium’s rendition of it in audio form. You guys managed to strip out the context of great shit while adding nothing of significance.
