Getting my first guitar and amp back from the brother in law (gave them to him when I shipped out for basic back in 03) and I'm finally going to learn to play the dang thing. Lol. Got this ordered now and I really want to play and make music in the djent style. Life goals.....lol
I just picked this pedal up and I don’t know if I got a defective one or what but it just doesn’t sound anything like this. No matter how much I adjust the settings on the pedal or my amp (Orange Crush 20) it’s like there is no low end. All treble. Very high pitch and screechy. I have a new Orange Crush 35rt coming tomorrow that has an effects loop. I’m going to try it on that and see if it makes any difference. I had high hopes for this pedal!
I bought one and at first was kind of dissapointed, cause i used the fx loop in my amp. Then i tried to put it in the main input, and holy war, sounds sick!
Cool sounding old school metal distortion, sounds like raw 80's metal with that Jackson guitar at 0.51 in the video. And what an equally cool 80's metal looking guitar!!! Who did the custom paint job? Looks like the album cover art on the old Metal Massacre compilation albums from Metal Blade Records, 😁🤘
It's called the "Pile Of Skulls". It was a production model. I bought it from someone who did a mild sanding and painted it black. I took the black paint off to reveal the original artwork. Looks pretty cool! Cheers -Ryan
@@Crypticmaskguitar Cool, I have not seen that Jackson guitar before, so I did not know it was a production model. I am watching your video on it with the Mesa Road King. Thanks for the info. 👍
Hello there you have that pedal sounding real good on this video ...do you think just having it plugging directly into front of my amplifier with amp set nice and clean I can get it sounding similar to how you have it sounding I have a Gate in the FX-Loop of my Marshall so just going to be guitar into Holy War then from Holy War into front of my Marshall ? Also wondering what you are using for your Drum tracks ...next investment for me is figuring what to get so I can have drums to play my Riffs too and also for recording my Original stuff ... Thanks for your Demo on this Holy War pedal I have been wondering if it can sound good for Metal Riffs or not Cheers from Canada, Ontario
One time I plugged this pedal in my (REALLY old) practice amp and the amp just broke. It's been like 2 years now and I have a good amp again but I'm still a little worried to use it
@@zombiemontage That's funny. Use a different pedal to fix another pedal. Maybe just buy a pedal that has a fuller tone to begin with? Sounds too hi-frequency and not enough mid and low freq.
I have the same issue with this pedal. It’s all treble. No matter how I adjust it or adjust my amp. I so wanted it to sound good too. It sounds amazing in this video. I picked up a Caline Tantrum pedal with it and THAT pedal is amazing. Highly recommend.
That dime with the skulls is dope

This pedal sounds very DRI I kinda fuckin love it 🍻
ah yeah, now that you mention it, like sample tone 3. i couldn't put my finger on it. very crossover ish.
Ordered this pedal last week. So stoked to get it.
Great demo nice playing

Parce, bonitas guitarras , tremendo😊
nice sound
I been having this pedal for awhile, to be honest I feel like it sounds better then my metal muff pedal
I found my Metal Muff way better than this.
@@markoz777 do you have them both?
@@markoz777 try first bro ahahah
It sounds more defined than the metal muff but it's abit too thin and treble compared to the huge mids of the metal muff.
Mine arrives tomorrow , looking forward to giving it a try out, cheap as chips. Cool review by the way , thumbs up :) 👍👍👍☮☮☮
I seen something saying it was big muff clone.?
That’s cool
@Austin Perdue I don't know anything about this stuff, but I have:
Input: 100-240V/50-60Hz/160-80mA
Output: 9V/800mA

A bit MT2 eh? Beehive mess with the gain but nice for a booster/eq!
Is that a song?...cool riff
We always use our own stuff. You can name it if you want haha. Cheers -Ryan
Is that a reissue 900? 100w or 50w? EL34's or 5881's? Sounds good Thanks

That's how I used it in this video, rather than through an FX Loop. I'm using Superior Dummer. Cheers -Ryan

Is this a DS-1 copy? I think chinese pedals have their own circuits now..
I found this pedal lacking on low tone that heaviness. its more on high treble sound. how can you fix that
Boost it with an OD like a tube screamer

Your Jackson how much
I can't remember what I paid for mine, but you can usually find them for $1,200-1,600. Best bet would be to check Reverb. Cheers -Ryan
Your Jackson like that we have a Philippines or us
This model hasn’t been made in a long time. Cheers -Ryan
works for bass?
It would work for bass.. might be a bit shrill but you could make it work. Cheers -Ryan
