I still remember seeing them at Sydney's Macquarie uni. It was only 1000 or so in the crowd. It was awesome. I went with a gorillas mask on and there were a few others dressed up as something random. They refused to play ANYTHING from the original album. But before we went in Mike blitzed the mic with a warm up song. Man, wish I had THAT recording. It was intense. But the best song was a cover of an old 60's song they did called "Tower of Strength". "...And I'd walk out that door!" Go Mike!
@gurra9. This song was written by Burt Bacharach and sung by Gene McDaniels originally, then covered by Frankie Vaughn and then Bungle. The Celentano song Bungle covers is "24000 Baci"
I don't know why, but I like very much, that Mike doesn't change the melody, and sings very close to the original when he makes covers. In this way I think he shows great respect for all those composers. But anyway I always like more his versions :)
I saw this Tour & was Tripping my ass off on LSD & My irl was fighting w/me & it was like he was singin right to me total MindPhuck Bad-Trip....But Stellar Show (& I seen them 5 times) This one & I feel for You are Great & Mike Really Sings his ass off!! Thanks for the Flashback!
So underrated! Who can sound almost better live? Not only that but cover an original masterpiece BETTER than the original?! Unheard of!!!
16 years later, I just saw them in 2024, and they get better and better every time!
24 years! it's from 2000
you just watched master musicians at work
I reckon it'd be awesome to see Patton do a caberat show in Vegas!

They did this cover in Melbourne in 96 as well, so great to hear songs like this interspersed with the hard core stuff like Cold War.

Watch Trevor chug water from 2:18 - 2:45 while Mike is doing jazz hands.
Patton doesn't really sing like this much anymore. I miss it.
I saw him live back in 2019 (with Mondo Cane) and let me tell you something: he still has it.
I wish he still could sing this way. Not all his Tom Waits junk
@@TheKafkianProcessBut he's been wasting his vocal talent on Dead Cross and so-called "Mr. Bungle" for most of the last 5-6 years.
Look how he dance
mike patton is a legendz
jezus thats cool
#*&@% hot!!!!
Garbage, listen to the man who made the song in 1967 Frankie Vaughn .
