- With it being almost a year without an Inside the Mind and almost a year and a half without a Splatoon related Inside the Mind, I wanted to revive this series with a one-off episode about a type of splatoon 2 player that I’ve been wanting to talk about for a long time. These players are some of the top splatoon players in the world. I’m talking about the splatoon 2 x rank players. While it is in and of itself only one rank, it is made up of a cluster of different playstyles and players. From the frontline slayers to the more reserved backline weapons. From the casual players to some of the most dedicated top players. All of which will be observed with detail in today’s Inside the Mind. What is your favorite Inside the Mind thus far? the way i get more dc’s in x than i did in s+ and below
At least the punishment when you lose is shorter when someone dc
At least it's *sometimes* a draw if you have a dc.
You forgot about the people like me who'll get into X, then drop back down into S+9 just to have fun again.
You're one of the players that got out of the void but had a quick little stumble x)
As a X ranker who sits at 2000-2100 most of the time, I woulda done this too, but....I grinded to X because I WANTED to be here and turn into a stronger player, and I'd feel like I'm throwing away my hard work climbing down on purpose.

I'm so glad we get another Inside the Mind! Hopefully, when Splatoon 3 comes out, we can get some new ones - based off new specials, weapons, the singleplayer, etc :)

X rank, the rank that I may or may not attempt at reaching. It would be a nice accomplishment to get and give me something else to do in Splatoon 2, but I lack the motivation to do so. Who knows though, maybe I'll consider putting that onto my bucket list. If not S rank isn't bad either.

X Rank must be marking the spot on your heart with how often it hurts you
Im on rank x and i can confirm alomost everything you said.
I had to fight a lot to get on that level, and it's a real challenge.
Not only for the hight skilled players, but for the game itself, your wrost enemy is the game itself, cause for the illogic hitbox, casual disconnections and many more.
It's a pain, bit if you sucseed: it's worth it^^
I keep do my best to improve but with never forget the main objective: have fun!

The closest I was to S rank is when I got to A+ in splat zones and lost it immediately
I was so close to S rank but then my teammates were being dumb so I got a maintained rank

10 S+ ranks is stupid, I see all of these other people skipping to S+9, or at least halfway through the ranks, but I only rank up once, and that has happened twice, plus I barely even lost any matches
I agree technically. 10 s+ ranks to get to x are dumb and I think there should be MORE ranks to go through to get there. X rank is supposed to be “the best of the best” but 13 year old little Timmy is in x going 1-17 every match. If they were to make it that you need 20 ranks or something like that x rank will actually FEEL like x rank imo

One time, i needed one more win to get to the S ranks, and I had no crack in the bar, then i lost every single match till I was back at A- one loss away from ranking down.

I only just got into rank S splat zones, rank X sounds like a nightmare
Once I was playing Splatoon 3, and the entire enemy team got disconnected except for one person, and all of my team stayed connected. And it was clam blitz
I saw your username in a match once and I didn’t think it was and you he was using the dynamo roller. Now that I saw you holding it Im pretty sure I played a ranked match with you
Made it to S rank Tower Control, time for the grind
This video really explains x rank, like for me, i just get a few more points when i win a battle. Then you suddenly put me into a lobby where there are multiple crowned players and you just can’t handle them- and the point system has been pretty chill on me, like the most points I have ever lost were just 20 points, and i usually gain 10-20 points if i win. But seriously, x rank is so stressful for me to handle, then i have to have my team carry me cause i am way too stressed out to handle it

It is worse on x rank. A lot worse. I manage to sneak on x rank for like a few days and y rapidly got kicked out to S+ rank without mercy.
