Why when you press you code to unlock it you press the code then follow up with the kwikset button? Wi just press the code with no need to press kwikset and it immediately unlocks my door
@DAT-TEXAS-DUDE this is the programming process. Once it's programmed you don't have to press the kwikset button before or after anymore. Unless you want to turn on the back light, or restart your input if you put in the wrong number

She moved into new house in August I put the Schlage locks on two exit doors that work with the app to lock/unlock or set codes to allow access for others if need be. Need a code lock for a closet door with valuables and bought this lock and absolutely love it. The keypad is easier to use than the Schlage I bought.

My kwikset lock not working - no beeps or flash when I touch buttons. I replaced the battery but still nothing. However it does beep when I move lock/ unlock lever on back. I did the factory reset which beeps like it should but then no beep or flash when trying any program functions. Any suggestions?

My key turns but it doesn’t open the the door. It allows the handle to move as if it’s unlocked but it doesn’t allow it to open, doesn’t actually disengage the door knob. Help?
@@GrantButler it does. I figured out that you simply turn the key to the right and leave it in that position while turning the knob. Operator error lol. Thanks for the reply! Did you actually watch the video? From your previous comment, you weren't following the on-screen instructions. You may have to do a Factory reset & start over.

How does the interior lever work will it unlock itself if pulled down? Have a toddler and dont want them to be able to open door by themselves.
Inside is always unlocked (that's fire code)
I tried to turn off the sound with 5 present and it still didn't turn off the sound

Once you've disabled the program button ..how do you set a new lock code?
You can't disable the program button, you can only disable the master / programming code
What to do when to when the code continuously beeps red and will not accept any commands or factory reset???
It may be "locked" from wrong entries. So if you can't wait you may have to factory reset it

I don't think so. You can either flip the auto-lock switch on the back, or wait for the auto-lock timer.

You should still have either the default code setup or be able to use the new code you set up on it

4 is to DELETE all user codes.
6 is to disable it

What stops intruders from sticking a pin in the reset and using their own key to break in?
You have to have the original key before it will allow you to reset it
So I was able to change my code once and now I can't do it again
