I wish I could "like" this 50 more times. My wife recently passed away and this is the last song she asked me to learn. By providing this isolated acoustic track, you've greatly helped me learn this song, and to honor her. Thank you so much.
May your wife Ramble On to more beautiful places and adventures. I'm sure you will meet her in the clearing at the end of the path one day.
@@jamesmikita1107 Thank you
I'm so sorry for your loss. You honored her in the best possible way.

My father left me when I was 5 years old.
At fifteen, I discovered Led Zeppelin.
Immediately struck by their music, "Ramble On" was my favorite song on Led II, more than any other.
Listening to isolated acoustic track, it reminded me of how lonesome and frustrated I was (at that time of my life) by not having a father figure. I thank Page, Plant, Jones and Bonzo for what they done to my life and how they gave me the strength I needed to be a honest, better and true man.
Led is my life.
Sounds like you already had the strength and character, and the music just reminded you.
@@pmfnr yes true !
makes my eyes well up and he never plays that riff the same way twice. so organic. so perfect. Swirling and swirling and swirling.
I’m sure like all of you jimmy is my favorite guitarist. He is the whole reason I picked up a guitar. When I was a boy my dad would drive me and my sister around town in his 88 suburban while blasting zeppelin. Ramble on just takes me back to those days of when I was kid and listening to this music. As a man who is passionate about the guitar I never stop to wonder how someone so genius could think of all the great riffs he made. Jimmy is the greatest guitarist to ever live in my personal opinion
Thank you SO much for this! My 12 year old son has been attempting to learn all the guitar parts from the full original recording (and iffy interpretations on UA-cam) off his own bat. I shall not forget the look of joy on his face when we found this and your other posts today. These isolated tracks are educational gold dust, and wonderful ear-training to pick out all the subtleties and shades of performance essential to becoming a great player. Please post more when you can and heartfelt thanks again. Jeremy W
Im a guitarist, started lessons at the age of 6 in 1967. In 1983 living in Florida, I attempted for 3 months to figure this song out. Let me tell you, it was NOT easy at all. For those that don't know or understand, not only is this pure magical genius, but one of the most beautiful acoustic songs this world has ever seen. Still to this day, playing this song on guitar, it just elevates you to a new spiritual high. There is no doubt Led Zeppelin has found and been that magic in the bottle. 4 of the very best musicians we have ever had the beauty to behold...Then put Plants voice to this song and your wings take flight. Thank you Led Zeppelin for all of your gifts to humanity!...You have served hundreds of millions.
I totally agree ; kind greetings from Marie in France !
Jim, I started playing guitar in 1969, aged 9. It takes lifetime to capture this song, not 3 months.. Same with Babe Im Gonna Leave You... but sure any attempt at it elevates you to a spiritual hight.. So I play,
and play :) never to get enough
@@rangvi1956 Greetings Marie in France.... Wishing you happiness and wellness in all your days
Man this is the best comment ever i've read on RAMBLE ON
You're welcome! More isolated tracks from other songs still to come.
I used to listen to this album as a school kid throughout the night as a 15 years old with a bunch of other friends just after it was released - it was utterly magical to us and it truly remains so to me today 5 decades later…thanks for this.
You can really hear him get into the song at another level at 2:12. He hit the 'flow' right there and he's dancing (guitar player-wise) with the music.
Likewise, the isolated electric guitar track also kicks in and they come together in such a way that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.
Musical pioneers. Buried in the song is this incredible sound track. hippies didn’t know how good they had it. I’ve heard this song done by many talented artists and none of them come close. Ever year there musical pedestal gets higher and higher. They are untouchable.
This needs more likes. I'm a HUGE fan and I learned how to play every led zeppelin song except for this one..
With it isolated like this, can really hear a lot of stuff goin on. Nobody can play that!!
:} The reason I play an old beat up six string. Beautiful James.
Man, that's some heavy guitar playing. I always thought that Led Zeppelin heaviness comes from Bonham's drums, but on this isolated track it is plainly audible that Page was the heaviest player.
Yes, but the drums come in like a machine gun. One of Rock's great moments.
You got it right ! So true... it is the attitude ( but he could play so subtly at the same time.. incredible..)
I do little concerts from my garage, they aren’t huge but the neighborhood enjoys them especially during COVID. I only do classic rock and I’m do an all electric version of this.
This is outstanding. I am complete. Please post some more!
Simply Awesome JP !!! Excellent work. Beautiful. Big influence. Hope to meet you.
Thanks !!!
This is pure gold so I cannot understand why anyone can give this a thumbs down. It's clear that some people just aren't ...
Thanks soo much for sharing this Virtuoso !!
so beautiful. JPP could sure put the notes in the most unusual places and it makes sense.
Awesomeeeeeeeeeee ! Thanks so much for posting.
James P!!! Your channel is pure Uranium for masher uppers like myself. Let me thank you in advance ;-). I hope you have more coming. No Quarter, When the Levee Breaks....well, I guess that list just keeps going on and on doesn’t it. Great stuff...so cool to hear these isolated tracks. Many thanks!
Jimmy Page - The Lord Of The Strings 🎶🎸🎼❤️
Jesus! My mind is blown!
Awesome!!! Thanks for posting.
Magia pura ❤️
Fantastic! Thanks so much!
can you get one for over the hills and far away?
2:31 the magic happens..
never did i or anyone realise he plays an A chord after the triad chord strumming
it is so weird and fits so nicely. Page was quirky with his playing in a genius type of way. I bet he was an excellent tetris player.
Awesome, looking forward to them. The Rain Song....
Counting in, 1 2 3 4 whilst also inhaling
…thanks to you , I’m much obliged.
Brilliant
2:31 beautiful 10 seconds of bliss.... Jimmy buried that in the final mix :(
It is there, if you listen carefully..
Great
The sound of a 1962 Gibson J-200 in the hands of Jimmy Page.
It’s actually a vox country and western with a bolt on neck.
@@yahooty07 You been watching Rick Beato's recent recreation of Jimmy Page's acoustic part? It was very interesting but Rick played it wrong in my humble opinion.
ChorltonM21 I think Rick plays it mostly correct. It’s a funny tune that’s full of mysteries. I’ve been trying to nail it for years and I feel like I never quite get it right. If you look on UA-cam, there are a thousand people playing it a thousand different ways.
That famous J 200 Most/Sullivan guitar was only used on Zep One, and Beck´s Truth (Greensleeves).. yep, it was THE same guitar on both these albums..
Jimmy later said: He would not lend me her for second album, cos Mickey knew he wouldnt be a producer ;)
Beato ... so full of himself 😂 not only playing it wrong (hardly anyone can), but the guitar Jimmy used was in fact a B-25 Gibson owned by Juggy Studios where this number was recorded... he even has a photo of Jimmy playing it right there and then on his video... but no, he cant back up, even after I told him all this... funny guy
Nice, Thank you.
Fantastic! UA-cam hooray!
Alguém sabe os acordes da ultima parte?
One person attempted to ramble on - but fell in a large ditch and never escaped.
bottleimp007 Hmmm...are you a Mod or a Rocker?

the good good audio starts at 0:05 THANK ME LATER
Pre-chorus…. 1:04
Chorus…. 1:14
This acoustic track is surprisingly difficult to play authentically !
Dont feel bad ;) What you are hearing here are two acoustic gtr tracks mixed down. Not even HIM could play this on one guitar.. listen carefully with earphones.. Truth is, few of us mortals can even play one of these 2 tracks right... and I´ve been trying for some 50 years :)
8 dislikes??? Why, in Pages name!!!
Leaves are falling all around, It's time I was on my way.
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged for such a pleasant stay.
But now it's time for me to go. The autumn moon lights my way.
For now I smell the rain, and with it pain, and it's headed my way.
Sometimes I grow so tired, but I know I've got one thing I got to do...
[Chorus]
Ramble On, And now's the time, the time is now, to sing my song.
I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl, on my way.
I've been this way ten years to the day, Ramble On,
Gotta find the queen of all my dreams.
Got no time to for spreadin' roots, The time has come to be gone.
And to' our health we drank a thousand times, it's time to Ramble On.
[Chorus]
Mine's a tale that can't be told, my freedom I hold dear.
How years ago in days of old, when magic filled the air.
T'was in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair.
But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her....yeah.
[Chorus]
Gonna ramble on, sing my song. Gotta keep-a-searchin' for my baby...
Gonna work my way, round the world. I can't stop this feelin' in my heart
Gotta keep searchin' for my baby. I can't find my bluebird!
I swear this is an alternate tuning and when you see him live he plays it in standard but this recording is alternate. It almost sounds like dadgad
This is clearly played in standard tuning, no doubt

This acoustic rhythm part is deceptively complex. Lots of subtle chord changes
is it just me or goes it feel like some parts go slo mo
Can ANYONE play the sequence of chords from 3:20 ?? I know the stuff, but there is more... so much more :) oh well, our little Jim was just a stealing boy, sloppy at best ;)
I think you can faintly hear Jimmy mutter something right before he starts playing
Is there bass in this track at all? Is it one guitar?
One acoustic guitar is all that's there.
The thumpy sound of the EKO ranger VI acoustic guitar.
LOL

man it felt like I was hangin with Jimmy personally, like Jimmy man show me that tune ur workin on I'll let u know if it's good or not:))!obviously I'm kidding people
+hawkwind Of course you where kidding, You where acctually hangin' with Jimmy back in the day and he said "show me the tune ur workin on, I'll let u know if it's good or not.", then stole it. Clearly
had me in tears ! lol
+MrACangusyoungDC my friend I just saw this and also in tears good one !!:)
Paulo Vinicius Maya, Brother with respect. Sometimes you can have a mother and a father physically around you but they don`t give a fuck about you. My mother left when I was 5 but she actually opted out when I was about 3 and my farther never wanted kids. He was very clear about that. I had a mother and a farther both were useless. We raised ourselves and baby sat our own parents. It's not just the presents of your farther you want. It is a Man that take responsibly for your education, your growth of your self hood and someone to shower you in positive regard. To tell you you matter your important and able. That is actually really hard to find for several reasons. So I feel and share your pain but make no mistake there are those of us with fathers that still wonder the earth with holes were are hearts should have been. Those of us that had fathers that said and did things which still bother us.
I know he ain’t supposed to sing but kept waiting for Robert plant to step in and say “leaves have fallen all around....” 🤣
WHAT TUNing is this in? Anyone know?
Spoiler: It's like 3 different guitars
standard
The acoustic track is a single guitar part. There are other electric guitar tracks on the song.
Standard tuning

Is he on a 12 string?
ua-cam.com/video/epjai_p9TQo/v-deo.html
anyone know what acoustic was used on this recording?
either a d28 or a j200
Evan Bourgeois or his harmony mb
cheers dude, i know he owned those guitars but was hoping for specifics. no worries man :) appreciate it.
Welll it says he used the harmony hd1260 throughout the entire recording of zeppelin iii, so I'm gonna assume it was that one hah
oh cool :) cheers!
Who on earth could possibly down vote this? Oh I know, A Bieber follower who knows absolutely nothing about rock and roll.
Love the ISO tracks, but this just has to much of JPJ's bass to really even hear the guitar, listen to him on This Might Get Loud!
Listen with your ear buds, there is no bass guitar, just Jimmy on the acoustic with some strings tuned lower giving a bassier sound. By the time this track was mixed into the song, I'm sure a lot of that bass on the guitar was removed to make room for the real JPJ bass part.
He is an overestimated guitar player
I think you mean overrated. And no, he isn't. The influence that Jimmy Page had on modern rock, pop, blues and metal can't be overstated, from his playing to his producing. Hater's gonna hate, though.
He is a virtuoso. Some people just like to throw out stupid comments to get a reaction. Ha I do it from time to time.
Great
