Can't thank you enough for your helpful instructions and video - we couldn't have done it without you! We had assumed changing the door seal would be a pop-out /drop-in procedure..how wrong we were! You deserve a crate of beer!!
Excellent. Watched another video from a competitor which suggested you could seal through the hatch without removing the front panel and the concrete block. Don’t believe them! Follow this tutorial step by step and it’s trouble free. Good job.
Yes door hinge bushing are worn how can i replace them
Bought a new door seal thinking it'd be a fairly straightforward fix, not realising I'd need to practically take apart the washing machine! Thanks for this video, it's an absolutely suberb guide - the machine is all fixed and working perfectly, and I am feeling extremely pleased with myself! Enjoy your beer :D
Glad you got your machine working and I'm glad the video helped you
Glad it helped and you got the machine up and running again
Thank you so much for this video. I have the same machine and needed to replace the inner spring as the misses pulled it off because the seal needed cleaning and was unable to get back on. You life saver.

Thanks, Paul 👍
Legend! Thanks so much.
Foolishly I decided to clean the washing machine of all the fluff the day before I moved out of my rented house. Of course, not being trained in the ways of washing machine maintenance, I decided to pull the grey door rubber part out to clean it... well that was a mistake. What was suppose to be a 5 minute task ended up taking me the best part of 2 hours to amend. Thankfully this video was on hand to tell me exactly how fix my wrong doing. Now I hope that it all works fine and I can get my deposit back, of course there is no time to test it now as I need to continue cleaning!
Thanks for the great video, really helped me get out of this pickle... I hope :D
Not as easy as it looks! I watched the vid through four times and then took my time on the job. Perfect!! Thanks for the post, very helpful.
I tried to fix and replace the seal from the front without taking anything off, except the door, as advised by a friend and other people online, and I couldn't do it. I'm good at this kind of thing, and it was impossible! Trying to get the rim of the drum into the grove of the seal, it was horrible. I failed. and it hurt!
I followed the video here really carefully., and it worked brilliantly. I used washing up liquid, it really helps.
In the end I didn't need to take off the concrete. Just having more access to the drum with the front-off was enough (just as well because I didn't have the right tool for the concrete anyway).
My machine was a different model (Zanussi ZWF 16070W1) from the one in the video, and some things were different - more connections in the circuit board, for example, but it was the same in principle.
My machine is a little rusty I used wd40 on a few of the screws... and I am so glad I wrote down the position of the screws as i took them off with a little diagram; there are a lot of them, and they're not all the same. There's a lot that can go wrong if you forget.
I focused hard on getting the seal lined up properly, and I had to shift it slightly afterwards, the washing-up liquid helped here. Easy.
I checked and double-checked the seal was fixed properly, which is important as I thought it was on at one point, and it wasn't.
I gave the machine a good clean and treated the rust. It's working brilliantly. Good as new. I am a big believer in fixing things when they break. A few people said just scrap it and get another - no way!
The video here is amazing. So detailed and easy to follow. And I purchased the seal from them. Good value and it came quickly. Thank you so much. Job Done.
I’ve replaced numerous door seals over the years but this was my biggest challenge yet, as the machine needs to be almost dismantled. Thanks to your wonderful step by step guide, I was able to install the new seal and the machine is now leak free and up and running perfectly. I know you mention it several times during your video but I can’t emphasise enough the need to take photographs during the disassembly in order to replace the correct screws in their original positions. Thank you so much for this great installation guide!

Thanks for this. Didn't see the plastic door seal back on. Guide worked a treat and forgetting the plastic door seal until the end made no difference.
I did this on a Zanussi ZKG 7165.
I recommended drawing some big squares on paper to represent the washing machine and then numbering each screw as it comes off. There 19 screws for me as I missed out removing the concrete block. I didn't have the special driver and wasn't going to buy one.
I just used two flat head screw drivers and a wife to brace the wire spring and then prized it on in a circle. Thanks again.
This video may be 9 years old but you my friend are a fcking life saver thank you

I don't know how you got the seal on so easily - Ive been trying for 4 hours now and i still can't get to stay on without flipping off
I have a new door seal already coming tomorrow (sorry I didn't know about you before today) and thought I would just check to see if there were any videos about it's replacement, and thank goodness I did. I did not realise I would have to virtually strip the front down to do it. What an excellent easy to follow video. Thank you very much- I feel very confident in being able to complete the task now thanks to you.
no probs you know for next time the most important thing is you manage to get your machine fixed

Thank you for this video. There are others out there which are less honest about the ease by which these seals can be replaced. It is, as you show, simply not possible to fit the seal without removing the facia and the concrete block.
Very good video. Others suggest you can do it just by removing the door and you can't! Thank you
There are always shorter routes to achieving the objective the problem being. If you don't do it for a living you will find this exceedingly hard on your fingers but that's just my opinion. Dude, helped so much, knew exactly what I was getting into with this vid, now the other half has clean drawers and the machine has clean drawers too. Thanks!!

HI...we have changed many of these seals ..without having to remove all the parts on the video,,,,mind you we have been repairing appliances for 35 years !
Beer coming your way. Fantastic video which I followed methodically. Job took an hour with testing and leak check.
So helpful! I did manage it without removing the concrete piece but it was fiddly. I did take off the front panel and took the opportunity to treat some rust and repaint it a bit.
Excellent channel Thank-you! I've just been given a ZWN6120L. "It's only a year old, if you don't want it it's going down the dump". Mucky, slimy, crunchy when manually rotated. I've sat on the floor, PC behind me, and followed your instructions. The crap-trap was solid with stones/grit/etc, as was the drum to pump hose; half a pint of solids! All cleaned out now, door-seal removed and scrubbed in the sink, all surfaces cleaned. Just needs a boil-wash with vinegar/bicarb/whatever. Previous owner was a mud-biker and just stuffed his clobber in it when he got home. My Hotpoint Aquarius WMA30 still works but is noisy and tired; I'll pass it on to a needy person.
thank you!!!! this video helped us to change the rubber and the ring!!! you guys are amazing!!!
Thank you for your help. I was able to change the rubber with no problem thanks to the video.
This was brilliant we followed all the way and we can't thank you enough ... X x
I just followed your tips and the job is done! Thanks!
Brilliant video lads, I watched it all and like a hawk from 10:00 onwards as out rubber deal came away and a full load was pouring down the front of the washer. I watched you re-fit the seal and hey presto! All good here! cheers

Thanks very much for this. Helped me replace my door seal in no time.
Found this after a nightmare trying to fit a new seal (I've done numerous in the past and never been thwarted like this).
Video worked a treat, thanks to you guys
Shocking design by Zanussi, getting one of their 'qualified/authorised' engineers pretty much makes it uneconomical.
Your guide notwithstanding, having to remove the concrete ballast just increases likelihood of more damage to machine.
Job done though and leak free, thanks again 👍
Thanks please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
Great video, massive help and fantastic service online through the website too. Highly recommend this company
Thank you so much!! Great video and very helpful! Just a shame I spent the best part of three hours trying to fit the seal to the inner stainless drum! A;ll sorted now!!!
A great help. Took a while but I managed it thank you.
Thank you so much for this video! ! ! ! So helpful 👍
Quite informative, thank you
thanks for this video,
complete novice, but watched this video, decided to give it a go, watched video again, whilst dismantling it.
i think i used torq size t45 or 50. most difficult part was removing counterweight and needed hubby to help, also got a bit confused when trying to put nrw deal on, but rewatched video and all was good.
tip: tape the door hinge bracket to secure it, as i had put front cover on, then when going to reapply door, the bracket fell down into machine and i had to dismantle again 😤.
engineers told me these machines are tricky, but if i can do it 99% of the population can.
Thank you so much for this video. I may even give it a go. My washing machine rubber has twisted rather badly so a replacement is the order of the day. Ty again

Followed your tutorial to the letter and replaced the door seal in an hour. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Excellent, clear process.
Thank you very much. This was very helpful!
In the end, the seal that comes out at the front of the door is not really tight. Not even when I attach the plastic ring on at smallest rate. Is that normal?
Thanks Paul its excellent video
Excellent help video!
Our Zanussi is pre 2012! Is the seal replaced in the same way!! Thank you!!!
Excellent video. Can not fault it!
Excellent video as usual, you make it look so simple and it’s a great tutorial for beginners.
I’ve contacted you already as I have a John Lewis JLBIWM1403 and I want to remove the weights so I can manage the machine up four sets of stairs. I removed the 2 screws from the facial panel, 2 screws from the soap drawer and 5 screws from the strengthening panel but I can’t get the facial panel off. I can ease off the right hand side and push down the plastic tab that connects the facial panel & strengthening bar but I can’t separate the pair on the left hand side. Both are still locked together somehow. I move the facial panel and the bar moves with it. Can there be another plastic locking piece that needs unlocked to separate them or is there an alignment plastic pin on the facial panel that slots into the chassis. I don’t want to break any of the plastic fitting, is there a technique to it or just gentle persuasion. Hope you understand and can advise me.
I would like to tnx for this superhelpful video.managed to clean the seal and put it back. Tnx

This was a great video, however what l needed to know was why had a good gauge rubber seal split ? When l removed the concrete weight l found there was a razor sharp burr left from the casting, so when you rub the seal when cleaning it the burr cuts the seal, l chipped it off and then scrapped it till it was smooth, hopefully in the life of the washing machine l won't be replacing the seal again.
...spot on...thanks for video...new door seal just fitted and working...
Really glad that this video assisted you
Great video, thanks! Trying to find the wire band as mine has snapped
Glad it helped Thanks please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
we need a video for the zj-1218! I knocked/pulled the spring off while cleaning the seal.
Hi. I have a Zanussi ZWF81441W Model. Is this going to be the same procedure to change rubber seal for my model. Thanks.
That is amazing, where did you get that tool that popped up with the red hair and a pair of hands from? Then she just vanished, I presume she folded back into a tool box of some kind? Whats it called? Stanley's little helper?
Haha, good job on the explanation, very clear and precise :-)

What a ball ache to change a rubber seal 😣 Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks, it's jammed and I stripped the machine to clean the filter.
Nice tip!
I have a Zanussi Eletrolux ZWF1421 W. I have something stuck within the inner and outer drums. The drum paddles have six holes, I have been trying with results to take a paddle off, so that I can look inside to see what is stuck. I am having no joy, is there a trick in taking off the paddles? Would very much appreciate some guidance.
I have followed your video with success however I did disconnect the two wires from the pump. The pump is marked L & N and the terminals are marked T & B . Do I assume this isTop and Bottom? Can you help me?
Does it go over outer drum or inner drum ?
Mine doesnt seem to sit correctly ?
Very helpfull and hope you have more vidieos in channel
Just watched the video again and noticed the lugs on the facial panel that slot into the front panel however, I can’t separate the strengthening bar from the facial panel on removing all the screws and I fastening the clip. You’re able to to free the strengthening bar before remove the facial panel whereas I can’t get the two separated, it feels as though there is still a fastening, screw or probably a clip holding them together. Hope you can identify my problem.
feel free to contact me at the website Monday to Friday i will try and help

Hi mate great vids, i think my zanussi FJD 1466W bearings have just gone, its been making a noises the last few washes and today while washing i heard what sounded like a bolt drop off inside and when it got to the end of the wash and about to spin the drum drop or something and i managed to stop it and im hoping ive saved it, but before i start taking it apart i need to know abit about it, its a old washer and doesnt have a back inspection cover and i dont know where to start with looking inside to see whats wrong and im really hoping you can help me please? I dont have any bolt at the front to take off the fron cover so i dont know if i have to go from under it or from the top, be really grateful if you can help plz, thanks matt
Hi. Our zanussi doesn’t have that plastic retaining band it’s got a metal wire spring loaded.
i am having trouble with the lights - or indication of power to the machine. It is a Zanussi Lion 1200
perfect tutorial as usual but how in gods name do you change a door seal on older Zanussi with split cabinet??? one repair ive never mastered???
You can change nexus cabinet seals in place but if you find that hard you will have to split the cabinet there is two hidden screws on the side behind some plastic lugs at bottom middle.
how-2-repair.com i know ho the cabinet splits just on the few times ive tried i cant get the seal to hold onto tub the concrete block seems to be in way? on like some older AEG i just used to remove fromt panel and weight block hey presto just these darn split cabinets always catch me out grrrr
where is the condensation in this kind of machine?
hi, what size is the bit you use for the concrete block , and is it the security type ?as shops I have been, only sell the small ones. cheers
its a torx bit cant remember size sorry

it's t50 or t70 from the looks of it / doing a bit of research
fog various T50
It's a T50 Torx, changed the seal on mine today, you will need 8mm and 7mm sockets for the chassis bolts
Hi there, I can't open my Zanusi washing machine water filter. Is there any special tool to open it?
Thanks!
it just unscrews ant clockwise. or it is jammed and you will have to strip it down

How to replace door hinge bushing on a zanussi washing machine
A video on how take the front cover off when it extends halfway around the side is needed, hidden screws, cable clips, drum falling Argh! This video whilst being accurate and very useful for that model bears no relation to my Zanussi.
You wanna use an impact driver for the screws dude, using a drill driver could ruin your wrists, and your day!
Why does my washing machine creep
They all do but its usually down to an uneven surface.
Sorry mate you only need to remove the top and nothing else, as one of there engineers I can see all the potential pitfalls the customer could do wrong, over tightening and cracking the tub, and not tight enough and shaking and cracking the tub also even dropping the concrete
i can´t take the glass of my ZWG7120K out. i take the screws and the inner plastic piece. but then i can´t take the glass from the front part of the door. is there any special way to do it?
thanks a lot
i think on this model the plastic trim splits look closely
how-2-repair.com thanks for your answer. it does split, but i can't take the glass from the front part of the plastic trim, i think if i force it i may brake it.
I really wish that manufacturers would stop using the style of plastic posts that splay out, they can be such a pain in the butt, especially when used on motors.
Why do you take the front panel and weight off very amateur I can fit these in 5 minutes without taking anything apart
You have to remember that not everyone has done this job before so I make the video easy for general public please remember to subscribe as that's is was keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
Great video help out alot....but seriously that inner rubber ring took me like 2hours to fit on what a fcuking bitch of a thing and then to secure it with the metal ring clamp thing what a joke......you obviously using a demonstration one as you mention and ur rubbber ring stuff must be loose as fcuk not like mine it was tight as anything......
