After a heart attack, i was perscribed statins for almost two years. My heart attack was nothing compared to what the statins did. At least 10 side effects that still linger today, even after one year of quitting the rat poison and now I'm looking at a possible statin induced lupus.

Dont be its been going on since 1920, the American housewives used virgin coconut oil for everything especially cooking, they tried everything to get them to switch to canola oil when they eventually did in 1928 American doctors were reporting an explosion in heart diseease that they had never seen before. I too have heart diease and had to be stented in 2019 I have since banned any seed derived oil in my house since, especially vegtable, sunflower, rapeseed, soy bean (canola) its all rancid before it's even put onto the shelves for sale.

Spent a lot of time in Thailand, and this video, confirms what I’ve always believed and known, from being around the people in the country. They consume a lot of coconuts, both liquid and and pulp. And the incredible fitness in old age, and health of many Thai people. Just letting you know, what I’ve learned personally, as well as my combined knowledge, over the years, of study, in this field.

I remember years ago when I was young in the Philippines, my parents ran a business of buying sun dried coconut from local villagers to be made into coconut oil. It provided livelihood to local folks as coconut trees were widely abundant in our village. People can literally gather fallen coconuts from their back yard and sell it. This fed families in our local village back then. Then came the “saturated fat is bad for you” scare and that was basically the end of our small family business along with the livelihoods of so many.

Great video Dr. Axe! As a holistic health practitioner I have used and suggested EV coconut oil for years with great results. On my visit to Philippines with my wife 5 years ago, her family was amazed I used their fresh hand made coconut oil on my food. They had never heard of that in the very heart of coconut heaven. :) For them it was purely topical. I also had a debate last year with a gentleman from the Thai ministry of health that had no idea that coconuts caprylic acid was a major anti-fungal and rich within coconuts. The word is getting out there, slow but sure even in the ancient lands the produce comes from. :)

People always mistake me for (20-22) years old but i am actually 30 years old man. Maybe it's my habits and the coconut that i eat almost everyday which is keeping me young and healthy. Filipinos really love the coconut oils, it has some many health beneficial effects, yes we believed that it is a saturated fat but this fat highly differs from animal saturated fat. At low temperatures, it easily melts unlike animal fat. Other medical societies ignore this humble superfood, just because local farmers have no sufficient budget to get sponsors from other manufacturing company because there is no money in it. But health concious people continue using coconut oil because it has so many health benefits. Ignore the pre-paid food ads, because it has so many negative effects in your health.

Hello, I come from the land of Coconuts from India. We people here use coconut oil as our daily oil for cooking and other external applications. We have coconut as such and also the oil for cooking. As one of the 8 medically based reasons 1 seems to be true and that is reduces brain diseases and we have that very little here. The other reasons needs to be checked. I suppose this is the best place to do research based on coconut as we people have been using it for generations.

Awesome video! I did have a question or two though. I've read that if the coconut is processed with high heat the beneficial nutrients are chemically changed and are lost. What is considered "high heat"? I put 2 heaping teaspoons of coconut oil and 2 tablespoons of heavy whipping cream in my coffee. Am I wasting the coconut oil because of the heat? What about cooking with it? I'm confused is all. Thanks!

Hi Dr Josh Axe, Is coconut oil and coconut fat the same in regards to what you are saying here in the video?
I ask because, I found out that other products I thought were health giving are in fact corrupted by the supplier in some form or other making them more or less useless for the purpose. It would be good to know if you have any tips on what the good stuff is and how to identify it. And any pitfalls or things to watch out for.

I recently was told that I have candida overgrowth, leaky gut and not to mention I went to the ER for gallstone attack. I've been researching the candida diets, GAPS, SCD, listened your webinar today and feel like all I'm left with is a bone broth and coconut oil diet lol. I used to count my macronutrients down to the T. Never cared what I ate, only cared about how much. I'm sure it's what got me in this mess. A lot of your recipes call for high fat-content items. At what point (if any) should I worry about consuming too much fats? I'm afraid of weight gain. I've slowly cut out grains and excess sugars that I used to have everyday. I stick to a small serving of low sugar fruit pre/post workout but have been trying to makeup for the caloric deficits through nut butters and avocado. My chronic fatigue is a concern and don't want to go way under. Should calories and macronutrients be of concern? Coconut oil is high in calories despite all of its benefits.

Nice to hear the truth about coconut oil. Now it would be nice to hear the truth about other fats and oils.
Most are very healthy if not refined and if they are cold pressed without solvents. They also must be fresh.

Hi I am watching your video as I live in Tasmania in Australia,
I never eaten any coconut throughout my hole life, and I I have one from my old house from 2010-2024 only because,
Back in the day my parents and I didn’t know anything about coconuts and we didn’t have any tools to use,
and when I moved house in the city I kept it to remember my childhood,
Well I archly still have, it’s year 8/05/2024 this year.
I’m looking up at your videos and others so I know more about coconuts even I believe they are much healthier,
then back in the day as I thought they weren’t healthy when I was much younger 12 years ago.
There is a question when I was younger as I still remember as no know one answered,
What kind of plant is a coconut is it a nut, seed or nutmeat? As coconut has milk, water and white flesh inside the shell?
Thank you so much I think I will in future.👍🏻🤔🥥🥥🫙💧🥛🛠️

Thanks, Dr. Axe, for this informative video. I began using coconut oil a little less than a month ago. I'm glad to know that you recommend the oil, flakes (meat), and milk of the coconut. My question is whether or not there is any physiological benefit to coconut water which I have also been using in my smoothies? Coconut water is a staple in markets in my neighborhood (sold in cans).

Coconut water is a fluid that could be administer straight from the coconut via IV to dehydrated people if nothing else is available! I prefer to buy the brown coconuts and drink the water via a straw through the holes, and eat the meat, so delicious.

I'm eating coconut meat and watching this at the same time. It's great. I like to lightly cook the coconut meat in coconut oil and add a little salt then have them for snacks. And it tastes like popcorn, I swear it does!! I think it's because I cooked them for a bit.

I make an nut paste from peanuts, almonds, cashews and even walnuts and pecans and use coconut oil to make it like a spreadable, smooth butter texture and it taste great!!! It's also pretty good on popcorn....the REAL stuff, not the microwave junk! Eat healthy, get healthy and enjoy it at the same time.

How often should I take it and how much should I take. I know, infantile question. Seriously I have heard 3 teaspoons per meal and 2 at bed time. I have heard 1 at each meal and 1 at bed time. Thank, Joe
