I have owned multiples of both. I now just have my XRT and I prefer the XRT over the kraton for multiple reasons… the kraton is much heavier. The battery strap thing has always thrown me for a loop. It is extremely expensive to replace parts and there’s no flexibility when it comes to the chassis. It’s either bent or broken for the XRT. It’s much lighter. Some areas can be difficult to get to and once you upgrade the gears and the bell crank I feel like it’s pretty much good to go outside of any personal choice upgrades. However, if you buy the kraton brand new I feel like it is very rugged and can last quite a while even under extreme bashing, but once things start to break on it, I feel like it’s potential has really gone down and requires a tad bit more maintenance versus the XRT. For me on the XRT the first thing that goes is the bell crank I always upgrade with the aluminum then the next thing that goes is, of course they’re wonderful monkey metal spur gear 😂 I feel like after those two things on the XRT it’s just simply a matter of upgrading things as you feel the need for them not because they break
Thanks for taking the time to compare both of these. In your opinion which one is more fun to drive? Which do you grab first to go have some fun in the dirt, sand or snow with? Thanks.
So, I would say as an overall they are pretty equal. I wasn’t as worried about damaging the XRT since it is a bit lighter, and I would say it handles a little bit better, mostly due to the weight. You really can’t go wrong with either one though. The Kraton may have a slight edge in turning sharpness.
I got both. For me personally, XRT all the way. I've had way less trouble with the XRT, 25ft high and 100ft long jumps with both. The XRT has been able to survive way better my less than stellar landings indeed. That's been my experience. And I had to upgrade way less on the XRT out of the box. Both great rc vehicles, but the K8S has been way more expensive to upgrade and maintain IMHO. Great comparison 👍. Subscribed. Check out my video where I snapped my X-Maxx in half 😂 ua-cam.com/video/8MoB93B3ks4/v-deo.htmlsi=RrzWl-UdO2ZzMk8b

I’ll have that answer by the end of this week. I’ll be running the XRT on same track that I had run the Kraton on.

I want the XRT Ultimate.
Nice! I’m going to do another video soon on if it’s worth it pros and cons of buying large scale RC. Stay tuned!

Thanks for the comment, appreciate the insight and the kind words. I subbed to your channel as well!
Xrt tires are smaller than the Kratons..Think thats why the Kraton looks bigger
I almost did the video without the wheels lol. In the end I guess it doesn’t really matter, we are all lucky to have such great rcs to choose from.
The Kraton is way heavy, I have an Outcast and Xmaxx. Xmaxx takes way more abuse Outcast flys and handles really nice.
Dont believe any thing at Google they show you cuz all of these trucks are 1/5 xrt xmaxx kraton outcast vigilante
I think the kraton is better overall . The xrt is dope
