When I do large connectors like those I plug the two sides of the connector in so there’s more heat dissipation. With the connectors plugged together, and there is a larger surface area of metal. It’s also a much larger plastic connector. Essentially, it’s now one unit that way if by chance you overheat it, it doesn’t deform the connector.
Watching this my tmaxx conversion,makes sense. I put 2 really high kv motors in it. Snapped both motor shafts. I just bought a tp motor lower kv big ass can. 6s
I used Basherqueens esc plate for the XRT for my conversion as it allows you to actually screw it down. I also changing my gearing to the speed gearing and it has no temp issues with that motor/esc combo so far. Whole different truck after those changes.

Great video very informative and clear best iv seen just some info for others u can also use the spectrum 160 amp esc that’s in the k8 or O8 there cheaper and virtually identical I have both one in my Xmaxx and a max6 in the xrt no difference just the case lol

Hobbywing should not be cogging on the XRT gears doesn’t sound right at all as a max 6 esc been used in the xmaxx for years with no one complaining 🤷🏻♂️🤔
@@earlmoorhead5555 dont you feel the throttle has a slower response compared to stock esc? Like the torque is not instant, this has also happened to me with the max10…
@@DashzRight when you install the hobbywing the esc needs to be set up with the punch level I use a programming card to do this the traxxas esc can’t be adjusted and have a soft start to them compare to a max6 on max punch there is no comparison but I was ok with the stock XRT set up but it was nothing crazy like a max6 or my set up with a big block and max 5 esc 👍👍
Traxxas is total trash customer service, 3 rd vehicle in three weeks that has broken and one hour old XRT and the ESC went bad and they want me to down 4 week while I send mine back and wait on a new one
