I used to be so irritated with my mom and her strictness, but now being an adult I really appreciate it. Seeing how many grown people don’t know how to cook for themselves, clean up after themselves, wash their clothes, and the list goes on. Now for sure my mom could did somethings different, but i’m blessed nonetheless.

I've talked to multiple parents who raised their kids as "equals" and let them do whatever they wanted. Literally ALL of them have expressed regret, wishing they had guided and disciplined their children better. You can have a close, affectionate relationship with your child but at the end of the day, they still need a parent.

I was raised military style in a sense. My stepfather was kind of a tyrant. He did take care plenty of my needs. But love or even like he lacked showing and he could be physically abusive. And a lot of responsibilities were put on me young from both parents. But I did grow up independent. Not looking for a thing from anyone. And I love being independent. He could’ve raised me differently. But I guess in a way I can thank him for all of those responsibilities put on me because it made me responsible. We haven’t spoke for a long time I did try to talk to him, but he has avoided me for 17 years. But I still have love for him and he will always be my dad. It’s clear as day that Jada was not wife material or ready to be a mother. She had so much unresolved trauma and issues that she brought into her marriage and parenting. She allowed her children so much freedom, that now they present as very confused young adults. Regardless, how gorgeous and talented they are, I don’t feel they present as grounded, emotionally stable kids.
The latest music video I’ve seen of Willow, I was like 👀😵‍💫😦😳😨🥴She’s definitely in a dark place mentally and emotionally and I feel that when she was acting out during the tours of Whip My Hair era; it was partly due to what was going on within her home setting. As well as the pressure of performing.
This is a fine example of not being ‘Equally Yoked’ - different ideologies on marriage and different parenting styles. Confusing and breeds dysfunction that passed down to their children.

Well said, and I ride hard for The Smith's. Will wanted Jada so badly and her mother pretty much made her marry Will (Jada said she cried the whole way down the aisle. She did not want to get married). I know their marriage is...tricky to say the least but the two of them make it work for them, but the kids...man. I honestly didn't realize how their parents relationship affected the kids until Willow said on Red TT that she wanted multiple spouses. She said that she does not believe that one person can give her all the love that she needs. This broke Jada of course, but Willow saw her mother extremely unhappy in their home. Jada stayed at home alone with the kids and Will was always gone. I can only suspect because I don't live there that Willow didn't get a good idea of what marriage was. The good news is that Will admitted being a bad husband and he and Jada have worked through a lot. Hopefully that helps things out with the kids some..?❤️

One of my pet peeves are children who lack guidance. Parents will think it's my kid, mind your business, I'll do what I want. But your child does affect others. They grow up and they're coming through my window trying to do God knows what. I won't even associate with a person who does not correct or teach their child how to behave. This free range parenting may work in those small circles at first but eventually that catches up with them. Willow is depressed, Jaden is confused. They need structure. They're still young and need someone to tell them what to do. It's hard for an adult at times to try to figure out things. Imagine being a young adult and you need guidance and advice.

Although weird and confused, The kids ain't around here killing ppl... Willow looks JUST like her father, and love's her hair short and cute like her Mother ❤️‍🔥 I love it!

I’m sure willow and jaden aren’t perfect but you have to admit they’re the least problematic celeb kids. Their upbringing worked…for THEM

Yes it's called lazy parenting. Being a parent is a lot of work if you do it the right way. Jaden will are no better than the parents that have to get CYS called on them for neglect the only reason why they didn't get CYS called on them is because they have money to clean everything up and the kids look presentable. But Jaden Willow in their minds or neglected just like the parents who need guidance from someone else.

I grew up with strict parenting and came out very peculiar. Sometimes it's not the parenting sometimes it's just the child. If I had less boundaries I probably would have turned out the same as I did with having an intense traditional religious upbringing.

Say what you want about their parenting styles… but I have yet to hear any of these children to be trouble with law… or just out here wreaking havoc… on drugs, multiple children with multiple different partners!! have you guys heard them speak… seen them write?? They are way beyond their years, are extremely intelligent and are respectful to PEOPLE!!! It may not have been the parenting style you agree with, but it looks like it worked for them. My parents raised me in a strict African household where I was too scared or just uncomfortable speaking with them… and that carried over into adulthood where I had communication issues in my relationships/friendships… Strict isn’t always the answer. Bottom line… DO WHATS BEST FOR YOU AND YOURS!!!
