Why not? You don’t lie at work? 😂 these appearances are all work functions for them. They have to dress up smile and say nice things or people will stop idolizing them. The public doesn’t like miserable rich people vibes. If your not liked you may lose you next gig and lose the clout wave you’ve become addicted to.
Caring about someone making fun of you and loving your appearance are two separate issues. It was a tasteless joke, but he didn't deserve to be hit because of it.
it's disgusting how when it's the elite and upper classes it's called 'losing your temper'. But when it's the poor and those who live in poverty it's called 'senseless violence'.
Okay so if this was Bradley Cooper accepting an Oscar which was well deserved even Denzel Washington and all of the other people inconvenienced to calm Will Smith down, it's amazing when you are an artist or comedians or whatever the hell he wants to call himself but for him to do what he did number one he needs to be exported off the premises meaning Will Smith and also take he's Oscar away he does not deserve that that are out there can you actually imagine Denzel Washington walking up to the stage and slapping Chris Rock across the face and then mouthing off about him when he finally sat down, have you ever seen Robert De Niro Meryl Streep Bradley Cooper , Denzel Washington Tom Hanks, Tom Brady, Wayne Brady who went to school and graduated in Dr Phillips where I live can you literally imagine if this attack was intentional who cares Will Smith's got to answer to the man above eventually but keep your private life and your wife's big mouth talking on the SEC show with her daughter and her mother seriously, just do us all a favor will and shut the fuk up for a couple of months because seriously I hope to God you are banned from the Oscars, because you don't even deserve one cuz you're a stupid actor, go back to your stupid rapping days
This whole incident was bizarre from start to finish. He actually laughed at the joke initially, then all of a sudden he gets on stage and slaps Chris, followed by him cussing him out. Like, where did all of that come from? And what was worst was there was no consequences after. He didn't get kicked out AND he was allowed to accept his award that night. There is no way that should have happened. I wouldn't say be denied of his award, he earned it for his performance for his movie role, so he deserves that. But perhaps, he didn't deserve the recognition at the ceremony.
He deserves Worst Actor for that crappy performance of a man in love. Super-ironic that it preceded his Oscar! That was contrived. Whether it was scripted or he just decided to do it in the moment, that was not authentic "man loses temper" material. He was in complete control the whole time. As Judge Judy says, if it doesn't make any sense, it isn't the truth.
Spot on comments. Keep your award but go to jail...do not pass Go. Then he got a standing ovation like they were applauding his previous performance that evening. No consequences or repercussions.
"I don't care what anyone thinks about my baldness because I love it." ~Jada Also Jada: Visibly hurt and you can tell she 100% cared about the bald head joke and was emotionally affected. It's funny watching people say they don't care when you can clearly tell they do.
Dam so chris must’ve thought that it wouldn’t been a problem saying what he said to jada. Chris shouldn’t have risk himself with the joke tho but also will shouldn’t have acted the way he did.
"Acted out of impulse?!" He casually walked up, smacked a man in the face, and then casually walked back to his seat with a smirk on his face...that security team should be fired for doing nothing after the fact.
Cause he is famous that is why security did nothing, if someone from the public (you and me) did that we would have been arrested and spending the night in jail.
This wasn’t about him defending his wife, it was about him deflecting their wounds! She doesn’t need a round table she needs a flat couch!! Will said love makes you so crazy things; this wasn’t an act of love, it was anger built on lies!!!

i think that is why Will did what he did to be honest. He seen her starring at him and knew how bad he looked laughing at his wife basically so then he panicked and jumped up and slapped Chris
Would there be this much vitrol if they had just sat there and said nothing, just looking displeased? Would ppl call Will Smith any less whipped if he privately addressed this off stage? What would satisfy ppl enough to stop verbally assaulting this entire family?
@@Mister_Jay_Tee of course not. No one would even remember the joke. Because it was a very tame joke. The headline is his stupid reaction and her obvious control over him.
@@tunahan8400 if denzel was so cool, he wouldnt need to make this some biblical bullshit, like it was literally the devil who did it and not just Will. It was a man who made a personal decision to let his ego get the best of him and hit a physically weaker man straight in the face in front of millions of people trying to "put him in his place". Will had slaveowner mentality come out of him. And what did Denzel do? Console the aggressor. Embarrassing.
Has anyone watched any of Chris's work? have you seen and heard the things Will has said over the years? The only reason Jada found that joke upsetting is because it was aimed at her.. plain and simple, NO ONE gave a crap about any of the other offensive jokes because they were directed at other people, this was about HER, WILL and their ego, pride and Wills need to act macho to appease his wife.. total weakness..
Comedians often say that they learned to laugh and be funny when others made fun at their expense. They realized that if they got angry or upset, people remember. It gave the teaser a lot more incentive to repeat the teasing. If the person has a comeback, or the audience is more entertained by the next joke, the teaser realized they had no delight in further teasing.
Everyone in that audience giving him a standing ovation, clapping and laughing at his joke… spineless. Jim Carrey hit the nail right on the head with that one. It was disturbing to see honestly.
NO MORE DISTURBING THAN WHAT OUR CHILDREN ARE FORCED TO SEE ON THE STREETS, ON TV, AT HOME, etc. IF THIS DISTURBED SOMEONE, THEY NEED TO COME OUTSIDE THEIR PICKET FENCES. IT WAS A SURPRISE, EVEN TO CHRIS. THATS WHY HE WAS SHOCKED, not BECAUSE HE HANDLE IT INTENTIONAL with HUMILITY.
I think people were really confused. Happy for his award, sorry to watch his behavior, shocked by his reaction, and just reacted. I don't think the crowd had some sort of plan. It was just a spur of the moment reaction. Everyone probably feeling badly about the whole sorry mess.
Imagine being hired for a job as a comedian, and your job is to joke about the movie stars on stage. You suddenly got got hit by someone whom you joked about. No one actually defends you, or assisted you during or after the assault, and they let the person who physically assaulted you, to receive an award. The guy even got a standing ovation by his peers. This is the exact definition of tyranny. Chris was literally the Jester and the Joker of the night.
It was strange that no one lept to his defence or made a move to see if he was ok, like the show must go on. He was no jester he was very dignified. I actually heard that a court jester was allowed to say anything derogatory about a king with no consequences
Maybe all people at the Oscars were all in on it... Well, they are too stupid and have too low-moral for that (as one even can see on the woman sitting a bit behind Will). I'm sure that this family are such low-moral beings and brainless, because the parents focus on sex in every way. Will... gay!?
Imagine being hired to make people laugh, to make people happy, instead you decided to make fun of a woman you have been bullying since 2016, imagine making fun of said woman's medical/autoimmune issues, imagine being an insensitive bastard and getting smacked for it, well deserved don't you think??
Like in this amazing how it's just seemed like a lot of people are missing these fine details. It's just like everybody was like what he talked about Jada's hair so everything else don't matter. The way he got that standing ovation. After giving one of the most hypocritical acceptance speeches ever heard. It did to get up there and apologize to everybody else except Chris Rock after telling everybody God called you to be a beacon of love. When you say sickening
I strongly disagree he did out of honour for defending his wife whtever little thing he had as a man basically a cuckold but nowadays cowardice is a heroic thing whilst honor doesn't exist anymore
Damn, on the biggest stage of the entertainment industry, Will Smith had a meltdown of epic proportions. Decades of carefully cultivating a wholesome image - slapped away over a dumb joke.
Chis rock really deserved to get knock out cold.. chris got off easy if u ask me...i would have got right back up out of the seat after chris smile after that slap & went back up on stage and finished him off so he could not laugh it off
That was a false flag it was a setup you could tell it was acting they're wanting to draw your attention away from what's really going on if you don't know what's going on your head's been in the sand
I’m going to suggest that wasn’t about Chris or his joke. That was about the continued feeling of humiliation Will deals with. The world has talked about his most humiliating moment and there is nothing he can do. All that emotion came up on that stage. That wasn’t about Chris
Pressure from the pending doom he was going to have to live through when he got home made him do that, on top of everything else going on. That's just my worthless opinion. He knew if he didn't stick up for her then and there, the fallout would be much worse at home.
She gave him the see this is the type of crap I keep telling you about that needs to change..sit there laughing at that man...she's been mad since 2016 when he minimized her role in Hollywood and ego driven narcissists can't handle that. All it took was a look and that was all the gaslighting he needed.
That's your opinion, of course. People are free to live as they wish. But just like Gwyneth putting her vagina in a candle, and Kanye's best-forgotten statements about his family business, there is such a thing as TMI. And if you flaunt your private business publicly all the time, opening yourself to people's judgement, people are going to judge. I've seen all I need to see of them. Artists should keep their art in the foreground, not politics or sex life. Or medical issues. It just detracts from their real mission.
No she's not. G.I. Jane was a strong 💪 woman. Noone actually cares about her bald head. They may sympathize with her having Alapecia but not about her sporting a bald head. She looks good. Bald head is a style. Most people that didn't know like myself would think she was sporting a new look like many others.
Chappelle is racking up a good one for his next show. give it time. lol! Jim has always even different. canadian as well. he's always never taken award shows seriously.
Glad he spoke up about it but I do wonder if he was more involved he wouldn't be as open to saying something. I admit I don't follow Carey but seems like it's easier to say if you haven't been in the Hollywood scene lately.
Will Smith was defending himself against his wife anger at laughing at a joke,He laughed he looked at her he got scared. That was a self-serving slap purely to protect himself from his wife’s tyranny

My husband had alopecia. He lost spot all over his head. Took medication for several months. Rubbed an ointment on his head. It took a good while , but it grew back. Actually it came back white and he had dark blonde hair. But it did grow back. If it bothers her, I know she can afford a real hair wig. She said it didn't. So why was she so bothered. She's beautiful either way! Chris is a comedian. Maybe she and Will should have taken Chris aside and ask him not to make any more comments about her ever again. Just a thought.
I agree. That’s what you do. Do press changes, you file a lawsuit. Chris could easily get 10 million or more from Will Smith alone. Someone say “unsafe work environment?”
Being compared to GI Jane, a bad ass female marine who shaves her head as a symbol of empowerment, is actually a better compliment than Jada 'open relationship' Pinkett-Smith deserves
True. I get it that alopecia is a autoimmune disease that affect men and women alike, and mostly hits women emotionally with insecurities. I think Jada looks gorgeous w or wo hair. And luckily it isn’t a life threatening disease, she can wear wigs, or hair implants or embrace bc it looks good on her n empowering. However, she didn’t lose a limb, she’s not battling w life threatening cancer, or mental illness. Which are not easy to ignore/cover and move on. I respect her condition, as for her character idk… And for Will what he did was not self defense, he was wrong for assaulting Chris even if it’s a joke he didn’t like.
It would have been a beautiful moment if Will would have walked up, taken the stage and announced to the world about his wife's condition, how she suffers and how people can help others. That would bring awareness to the illness in a positive way, and that will make Chris look bad. But he did the opposite.
You are right. It seems the tv is a tool to divide and manipulate in only negative ways. What a missed opportunity. Its a shame that only vile and useless conduct gets rewarded
That would be a great thing to do, among so many other options that did not include slapping the taste out of Chris Rock's mouth. Violence was not necessary. Clearly he gave up on using his words with Chris Rock personally.
reminds me of that scene in the other guys movie the christineth scene 🤦🏻♀️ will what have you become?!!! he seems like the bearded guy. (i linked it below) ua-cam.com/video/XPV8F48TLJA/v-deo.html
In G.I.Jane, actress shaved her head to embrace equality during military training. She looked marvellous with her shaved head, and it showed her determination, confidence, and courage. The Smiths should think of the positive side, being a compliment. To be more gentlemanly, Smith could have pulled the comedian aside after the show, and told the comedian how they felt after hearing the joke. I think the comedian would be more than apologetic. Violence is not the way to solve matters. Viewers all over the world young and old watch Oscars every year, and the act of violence is a bad influence to viewers and carries the wrong message. You can see this in the remarks from young Smith "this is how we do it". This is already a direct and adverse effect on a young person. Love is not shown using violence, these go opposite directions. Peace, harmony, and accepting differences are what makes a better world. We have to do more to influence the world in a better way.
The same thing i thought when he made that joke, it was endearing, made she look like a warrior but she shows no sign of embracing her own culture (as an actress) and didn't understand what he meant, her face said everything.
GI Jane has another context as a long-time bigoted joke that questions someone's sexuality because of their short hair/appearance. This has been a joke for decades, and Chris Rock knew it. He shouldn't have gone there, especially in front of millions of people. It was a new low. It's not a compliment and wasn't meant as one, and It flew over the heads of most of you all.

He wasn't really making fun of Jada Smith. He didn't know she had alopecia, Will Smith, had no right to put his hands on Chris Rock. Because Chris Rock, was bullied in school and now he's still getting bullied, I know exactly how that feels, it's really messed up that Will Smith did that to Chris Rock, I feel really bad for Chris Rock..
I don't follow celebrities like many people. But from what I witnessed, the comment seemed innocent. (GI Jane was a good movie) I felt like the comment was a testament to Jada's beauty with short hair. Believe me, I am not a Jada fan. Many women can appear beautiful when hiding behind hair but when you have short hair or bald everyone can see and admire all of your features that make you...you. Will seems to have overreacted. It saddens me that this happened. We should also remember that Will Smith is just a man. Proud of Chris for carrying on despite the incident.
in my opinion, Chris never made fun of her condition, so why everyone says that he is protecting her? GI Jane is a bad ass. Maybe she took it bad and I understand why she is sensitive about it. When my friend had cancer, I shaved my hair in support. Everyone called me GI Jane... Jada looks beautiful, so I doubt anyone was making fun of her appearance. I think Chris should have asked permission to make that joke, but I doubt he was thinking about her condition. What Will did, was horrific. He has too many young people who looks up to him. I don't understand how hitting Chris is protecting your family. This was the opportunity to teach people that you can converse, instead of violence. Be an example. Very disappointing IJS
@@anonymousaccount8941- Exactly. Both have been in the Hollywood game for too long. And highly successful. Will Smith knows this award show process. There’s no excuse for overreacting to a joke. He definitely is having personal issues in marriage. Maybe even secretly beefed with Chris Rock in past.
@@maxwelljoseph2717 Chris is not a friend to the Smiths. He has shown that over those 30 years. That's why he felt it was fine to go off script to stick it to Jada. Exactly. God damn Smith for laughing along with the joke all the suddenly got up and smacked CR right in the face. This bitch must have told him to do something maliciously
What Will Smith did speaks more about his character than about what Rock said or how his wife reacted to the joke. He did laugh at the joke. The oscars have awarded pedophiles, given awards to sexual assault criminals while they were on the run from the law but you want them to withhold Will's own, as for your first comment, yes he was fine with his wife being scrogg boned by another man cause he was busy scrogg boning another woman, he said they were in an open relationship and what's good for the goose is good for the gander, lastly there was nothing mild about the joke, Alopecia is caused by an autoimmune disease, chris claims to be a family friend, he should have known to leave a friend's medical condition out of his joke, he should have been smacked harder maybe even twice.

Wait a minute. In one of the clips included here, Jada defiantly announced that she didn't care what anyone thinks of her bald head because she 'LOVES IT. So how then did a harmless joke about her resembling a badass GI Jane "hurt" her? If anything it could've been taken to mean that by being compared to a badass character that Jada didn't need anyone to defend her. It also doesn't add up that Jada openly speaks/brags about cheating on Will, to Will's face, in front of the world & on her talk show, & he puts on that he's OK with another person sleeping with his her, yet went all off about someone delivering a harmless joke aimed at his "life partner". Their son posted in support of his dad: "and that's how we do it" which suggests that violence is how that family deals with anything they don't like. That family is in need of serious professional help
Quit the bullshit. Jada is human and our feelings aren’t linear. Just cause we may be confident, that doesn’t mean we’re made of steel and nothing will hurt our feelings at all. Second of all, will was also in other relationships too. Did you know that? Y’all always “miss” certain things because of this exact reason right here. Why are people supporting her? If she’s truly that strong woman then why would there be the need for a man to stand up and assault someone who actually didn’t even touch her nor insult her.
i don't have any sympathy for her at all. karma is a B. she cheated on will and then had the nerve to laugh it off.. then she shaves her head making it seem like she's A ok with her hair loss. does she really have a medical condition? not for me to know, but when you make like your all in for total hair loss, then why can't you have any sense of humor about it? she had choices to keep her condition to herself, to wear a wig. or make it public when she shaved it and ask people to have empathy about the condition and she's sensitive about it. then to show up with what looks like 5 oclock shadow on her head, it don't look like there is any bald spots at all, then again, i didn't see the full scalp.. is all this for publicity? then when Will was up set about it and flipped out, did she ask him to do something? personally, i stand up for myself. i'd have walked up there and ask him to retract his comment and i felt sensitive. a whole mess but now i don't have any respect for any of them. even for chris rock, it isn't nice to make a joke about someone without their permission.
I’m so tired of all the ugly opinions, because there is not one person who has never regretted something they did or said. Yes, it was wrong. If you’ve never over reacted, yippee for you. But the fact that his demeanor changed when he looked at his wife’s face, must have hit a nerve. I believe he snapped and it is more that likely other things also caused him to over react too. Because now a slap, has turned into a beat down, he didn’t continue to hit him, one slap. One moment in history he can’t take back, one mistake. As for the everyone’s opinion, when we can’t say something healing or helpful, were just added fuel, to a already ugly situation. It shows we’re hard hearted and unforgiving. This whole world, seems to be thriving on hate of all kinds. Don’t pour gasoline on a fire. It’s time for this nation to heal, and forgiveness is something we all need, and need to practice. I remember not to long ago, black women were mad at Chris Rock for his movie about black woman’s hair. And his comments about Mrs. Obama wearing weave pieces in her hair. And cracking up about with the host and his guess. If he has no filter even for the first black lady. Then everyone is fair game, in the name of comedy. Will was wrong, and said he was sorry numerous times. Stop milking it, let both of these men and their families move on.
Jada is classless. I thought more of Will… now he’s as bad her. He allowed her to corrupt his kids too. A crying shame! There’s no honor left in him. All she’s done to him. Humiliated him… and he still defends her ‘honor’ like she’s worthy. Like she’s been a good wife. There’s some kind of spell she has on him and she knows it. She knows he doesn’t want to separate his family and she takes advantage of it. She’s abusive.
Entitlement, entitlement, entitlement. From Jada's predatory relationship with her son's vulnerable friend to this insanity. This is a season for us to be over rich celebrities behaving badly. Boycott the bad behavior. Quit buying anything to do with this kind of person.
Being born in the 90s, Will Smith was the coolest guy ever. I loved his movies, I loved his personality, everything was cool about him. It was sad to see him do what he did. I kind of get a feeling that he is not in a 'good place' right now, and I hope he gets better.
I was born in the 90's also, and like so many I literally grew up watching Will and he was the "good guy". I naturally grew up watching Chris also (Everybody hates Chris was one of fav shows at that time) so this both embarrassing and sad to see. Everybody deserves grace but being held accountable for terrible behavior is the most appropriate response and it hasn't happened so far.
NO excuse will excuse what Will Smith done he is supposed to be a grown man and professional not a bully who has little control over his emotions - not to mention for his behaviour not in the day and age! Will should be ashamed of himself and media should not keep trying to make excuse for him - or did Hollywood learn nothing from turning a blind eye approach from the Me To problem!

If I recall Will got up and slapped Chris Rock, not Jada. No one can make a grown man physically do something that they don't want to do unless they are doing so by force. I'm not sure if will had no common sense in that moment or self-control, but either way he has put a stain on his good boy image and he has made himself look like a fool! I really wish he would not have done that. Jada probably didn't know what he was about to do. I wish they would have shown her face after the slap.
If they were that upset they had every right to leave and "boycott" the rest of the event, but you NEVER have the RIGHT to physically attack someone for a verbal comment...only the self-entitled think they do. You have every right to use your words to shut them up....choose them wisely.

I bet Will Smiths life would have been different if he didn't marry Jada. She's one of those people that make you question how they've made it this far in life. Edit: Jada: I love my bald head. Me: If you love it, learn to take a joke, if you don't like it, don't say that you don't care when you said you do care.
The sickening fact is that jada publicly cheated on him while in public with another man and she even admitted it to him. Saying it's a season to heal doesn't change the fact that she cheated on him while in public and justifies it in front of him makes this situation all more worse then it is. Will need's help and jada needs to shut her mouth because what she's doing is so horrible on many levels. Will smith needs help because jada is clearly the reason behind his actions...honestly i hope will can get a intervention about being with jada because it's mentally hurting him hard to the core to a serious point where he tears up. Screw jada and her shit help will smith.
Y’all love defending BM. First of all, Will and Jada have an agreement. They are in an OPEN MARRIAGE. Will is bisexual and he’s been with both men and women during their marriage. Honestly I do not feel sorry for Will and I’m really perplexed as to why people keep blaming a woman for a grown man’s actions. Both of them decided they wanted to be in an open marriage, so good or bad they have to accept the consequences of it getting out to the public. Will is a grown ass man that needs to accept his part in his lack of manhood. He is a high functioning beta male that has a really hard time asserting his masculinity, so why is that Jadas problem?? Y’all LOVE trashing black women, even if it means defending the weakest men on the planet
Imagine getting hired for a gig and getting assaulted while on the job. Then told to keep going like it's no big deal (You hear Chris Rock saying "I could.." probably because he was asked in his ear piece if he was ok to move forward with the show, while being cussed at. Chris Rock deserves all the success he will get. He is a professional and it sucks that he had to go through that.
I thought he was talking to himself, but I had forgotten about the earpiece. Stinks that he had to swallow har and continue. I wanted him to go all Bill Burr in Philly on them. THAT would have been epic.
No, that was an “I could... go tf in on you, your wife and your kids..” “I could go much harder and harsher on you weirdos s.o.b’s” “I could verbally destroy your whole legacy you henpecked, spineless loser”. That was a I could say so much more but I took it easy.
Let's get something straight. Will Smith's Publicist apologize to Chris Rock, NOT Will Smith. You think Will Smith is sorry? Rewind and see Will Smith smirk on his face after slapping Chris Rock. You think he's sorry? Sorry enough that he chose to NOT apologize on Live TV after he won his award, but apologize to everyone else. Will Smith = Faker
And if he hadn't have faked that shit, you idiots would be crying about that. Chris Rock delivered a horrible, cruel UNSCRIPTED joke he snuck in the door--never presented at rehearsal, not approved by Will Packer and Shayla Cowan--to continue his vendetta against Jada Pinkett-Smith. He tiptoed his chump ass around every white actress and Penelope Cruz sitting with their husbands. Didn't say jack below the belt about any of them. Kept it cute and above board. But as usual, he fixed his ugly mouth to deride another Black woman, his "comedic specialty." Chris Rock took that fake ass apology just like he took that slap. I guess he knows now that not everyone is going to take constant bullshit. Some of y'all need to learn that, too. We may not choose violence, but others might have a totally different response. Watch your mouth! That slap was for old and new, as they say. Bad venue, bad energy, but for Chris Rock? Well earned!
Don't think he's genuinely sorry either, but the way he acted after accepting that Oscar was not how someone that's proud acts. Dude was probably in shock with himself
And if it bothers her so much, she can afford the best wigs or hair transplant. No need for her to sic her husband on people for hurting her feelings. It’s not that serious!
She didn't find it funny. That's not a crime. What Will did is the crime. The guy who found the joke funny then hit somebody is the guy you should be talking about not Jada.

Still Will has not been disciplined nor punished. That is not fair. He has to received the same treatment another person would have received for a slapping a person like that. #justicetochrisrock
It’s not that Will is getting preferential treatment. There are very few legal situations where a criminal case will move forward if the victim doesn’t want it too. Chris refused to press charges on him when he was presented the opportunity like most cases wouldn’t for a normal person if a normal person had assaulted him. This is less about Chris receiving preferential treatment and more about the graciousness of Chris Rock. I hate double standards based on class or race and experience then a lot but honestly this is just the law.
It was just a joke about GI Jane, not about her condition. He really acted out of character. There is more happening behind the scenes than we know. I hope that we can all forgive and have grace/mercy in this situation as we all have breaking points and mental health issues. It seems like Will is having some issues, but violence is never the answer.

Chris even explain the joke “is a GI Jane joke”. Chris could have reacted and end the Oscar at that very moment. The Oscar organizers were horrible and let Will Smith win an Oscar after such an act.
Everybody keeps saying Chris leaned forward like he was expecting to get slapped. NO! I think he thought Will was going to whisper something to him. He wasn't expecting THAT!
Yes I think the same....Chris Rock was wearing his mic so will smith couldn't be up there to take it and say something...Chris Rock had to lean in to receive what will smith was trying to tell him but then.....
Will snapped!! He's obviously been keeping things in that he should be talking to people about. Jada embarrassed him publicly, and he feels he has to defend her to show her he still has some worth. And Jada aswell used to be approachable and always seemed like a nice lady.. now she's turned into a unlikeable diva.

My biggest thought regarding Will Smith hitting Chris Rock at the Oscars is how that scene is used to not only justify, dismiss, rationalize, sympathize, excuse, tolerate, but also encourage people to commit acts of violence against anybody who says anything they don't like, period, regardless of whether it's a joke or otherwise. Some people use these types of situations to their advantage, it is being weaponized as one more thing added to a long list of things designed to destroy culture. Choosing not to engage in the discussion will only make things worse in the long run. These types of situations become embedded in culture at a subliminal or subconscious level which means they don't know a thing like that is in fact programming them to be snappy at alleged hate speech. It is designed to maximize your ability to be triggered to do the Will Smith Slap yourself. Regardless of whether or not the slap was real or not, that is what it does to you. Regardless of whether or not Will rehearsed the slap before the show or not, that is not the most important thing here. How this affects geo-culture is the bigger concern, period. It is affecting culture all around the world in a variety of ways. This is being used to teach people it's ok to attack free speech if it makes you or people around you to feel emotionally uncomfortable, angry, sad, confused, upset, sick, triggered, nervous, anxious, depressed, suicidal, etc. Use these kinds of situations as teaching moments with people around you. Take it as an opportunity to talk about things. These situations can either push people away or connect people together like a magnet. When these moments come in life, treat them like much needed leverage. You need all the leverage you can get. Believe it or not, these kinds of situations don't come all the time. They're a blessing in disguise. It's now or never. Do something now or miss out on a chance of a lifetime to truly influence people away from the desire to attack free speech as that is what this is.
Yeah, people should be careful what they wish for. Everyone is capable of deep violence, and you definitely do not want everyone unleashing their inner demons out on anybody cos' that shit will get very ugly, very quickly.
I know that this is not White men talking about how violence should never be used. Will Smith and Chris Rock's situation is their situation. She gave him the see this is the type of crap I keep telling you about that needs to change..sit there laughing at that man...she's been mad since 2016 when he minimized her role in Hollywood and ego driven narcissists can't handle that. All it took was a look and that was all the gaslighting he needed.
I don't think an "open marriage" is a real thing, if you're sleeping with other people then it's not a marriage at all, you may as well forget it.
Betrayal happens in all kind of relationships, open or closed. What matters is that you trust it others to be honest and to rely on each other's.
That is called a recipe for disaster. Nobody can handle it.
Committing adultery.

Chris Rock was making fun of Jada pinkett being bald but it doesn't condone Will Smith assaulting Chris Rock. From Ms. Harper Stacey.

Well said. I was confused as to why Will would take a joke as an insult to his wife knowing what the movie was about.
GI Jane has another context as a long-time bigoted joke that questions someone's sexuality because of their short hair/appearance. This has been a joke for decades, and Chris Rock knew it.

Being born in the 90s, Will Smith was the coolest guy ever. I loved his movies, I loved his personality, everything was cool about him. It was sad to see him do what he did. I kind of get a feeling that he is not in a 'good place' right now, and I hope he gets better.
What a lousy role model which includes that whole Hollywood WOK low class bunch of hypocrites. They give the guy a standing ovation.

I bet Will Smiths life would have been different if he didn't marry Jada. She's one of those people that make you question how they've made it this far in life.
Edit:
Jada: I love my bald head.
Let's get something straight. Will Smith's Publicist apologize to Chris Rock, NOT Will Smith. You think Will Smith is sorry? Rewind and see Will Smith smirk on his face after slapping Chris Rock. You think he's sorry? Sorry enough that he chose to NOT apologize on Live TV after he won his award, but apologize to everyone else. Will Smith = Faker
and he's even proud of it Will Smith makes me sick i like his movies but now i feel like idk creeped out and want to vomit
Then got giggly with it at the after party. Say what! 😡
Wills proud, Jada and his kids are proud of Will’s actions, they’re not sorry at all. What a toxic family
