Great breakdown, reverseblast also works as a silk dash so that means it can get rid off Magnamalo's Hellfire. This makes a great combo with the new Scorned Magnamalo set which comes with both Hellfire Cloak and Coalescence.
I main the weapon since release and i swear i never saw the aerial burst before, thats why i love Monster Hunter, you play the game for like 1000 hours and still learn something new, great vid ❤
Awesome video! Reverse Blast definitely is a great switch skill, with lots of useful applications. That said, i think i will still stick with Guard Edge. I just love that skill so much. Makes me feel like a true tank, an immovable object, when playing GL. Normal Blast Dash still gives me great mobility, even if its slower to activate and lacks the i-frames. But i love sticking to the monster, constant aggression, blocking and sidestepping, blocking big, punishable attacks with Guard Edge, then striking back. And when the monster backs off, quickly closing in with Blast Dash, usually followed up with Overhead Slam and Full Burst/Wide Sweep. Not to forget the occasional Bullet Barrage for huge burst damage. GL is awesome in Rise Sunbreak, with many different playstyles for different players. Praise the Boomstick!
What you should do is Reverse Reverse blast dash. The same idea as pivot hop. This way you will Reverse blast dash into monster face or fly to the back and then full burst. In your video you Reverse blast dash away and then Blast dash to monster to full burst. You add blast dash which not need if you turn your back to monster before Revers blast dash.
I watched half of this video and made a comment about the guard being too valuable to replace. I watched the rest of it and deleted the comment to test it out. Now after a couple days of using it, you have officially converted me. Its super fun, and super useful!
Very cool video showcasing this beast of a weapon👌. I main gunlance sience Monster Hunter World and I have to say...the Raise version is absolutely insane, all these Switch Skills are so stupidly op an fun to use
I recently tried out a build that had RBD added to the classic Normal GL Slamburst Blast Dash combo. I still keep Guard Edge on my other scroll for certain situations (and I should switch to it more often, reverse blast dash running out of s has carted me in funny ways many times, like that clip of you trying to through the Qurio bomb). Excellent video!
It’s a *great* evade tool for situations where guarding isn’t a great option. But, I’d use it more if it didn’t use a wire bug until the last part of the animation, or if Bullet Barrage only used 1 wire bug
I would NEVER think that Reverse Blast Dash can be used offensively without turning back to monster... I though everyone else is a MH god :D Great video, I love your voice and the way you break down the video into chapters for easier use. I hope you do more videos and happy hunting!
If capcom hired me the gunlance would leave lingering contrails of flammable exhaust that you can ignite later with a single shell or wyvern fire making weaving multiple blast dashes in a small area very potent and profitable.
If you get hired please make a hybrind greatsword cannon. 😂 In reference of FFVIII Gunblade but not just a blade but a giant greatsword and do that what you said in GScannon 😂
@@Lo-Fi-_-Gaming I was thinking a light Gunblade would be nice as well like Squall and Lightning, you charge 10+ phials and each phial can either shoot bullets or be exoloded in close range, would be nice to have a weapon where you can still run while its drawn.
@@sanguinetales feel like capcom missed the chance to have a switch skill that changes part of shelling damage to elemental. Just enough to be stronger for mons with very high ele hitzones.
If you're facing forward, just hold the left analogue stick backwards while firing (because it fires in reverse)! You don't even need to turn your character, just point the stick opposite from where you want to go right before firing and you will fire in the right direction!

Aerial GL is becoming even more fun now. Yes, I use Hail Cutter for the aesthetic.

Just so you know, that hail cutter joke made me subscribe, lmao

these of course unlike normal shells have traces of the weapons inherent element or status making status or element GLs more viable
