You guys have the best opening. I just enjoy that upbeat music and Jenny's expressions.
When Jerry was behind the tall grass and it shimmied I thought of Cousin It. 😁
I love that tree! But living in zone 4 b I wouldn't say it's super hardy. I planted 'The Blues' weeping Colorado blue spruce and it's similar in size, color and quirkiness.
Powis Castle smells so wonderful. It reminds me of a blue bath product I once got in Canada.
Mulch makes every garden look so polished.
Here in Minneapolis, they forecast up to 5" of snow tomorrow! I haven't pulled out my annuals, cut back my perennials or put away my furniture. Yikes!
I doubt it'll last, but the temps won't go higher than 40s for the foreseeable future. Brrr!

Thank you! When I said it was really hardy I was thinking of it from the perspective of being hardy with our heat. It can be very challenging to find blue evergreen trees that can handle our heat & humidity. Perhaps “heat tolerant” would have been a more appropriate term, but it is still a quite heat hardy tree for us Southerners!

Nice for now, but have you considered how big the cedar tree will grow if you are not planning to move it? Important when planting near a foundation as the roots could cause damage. The root balls of trees grow quite large (think the height of the tree). If the mature height is 30 feet, that’s how big the root ball will be.
However, the look you have achieved is stunning!

    • @GardeningwithCreekside

We also can get 60 inches of rain some years . I’ve read they need good drainage so I’m going to plant it up on a mound and mix in some porous volcanic rock as I’ve read will help . Do you think that is necessary? How is your cedar doing after a year ? Thanks and great video , it was inspiring!
