Epic, what a finish, I came off Ruapehu once after a few days of heavy snow, found my car and very carefully came down a very Icey snowy road to Ohakune.......BUT like you I came on a locked gate. a long walk into Ohakune found an after hours DOC number and eventually managed to retrieve my car, the adventures we have!

What are the North Face pants you’re using? I see you’ve been using them on the backcountry missions, are they any good?
I love them. I haven't had many different ones but feel that these are fantastic pants. The fabric is slightly stretchy & dries real fast, and it's also been wearing well for abrasian, blackberry, gorse. Hasn't ripped for almost 2 seasons. They are tnf paramount pant the older model perhaps 2019. Not sure if the latest model is exactly the same some have zip off legs I don't like that 🤣 👌
