Thanks for the video. Billy Goats is getting tougher lately. What was the track where you had to winch uphill on the way back? (didn't look like Billy Goats)
@@markwhitford Maybe you went Castle Hill Track onto Junction Spur Track then Scrubby Hill Track. The latter two both have steep slippery when wet sections.
That was Junction Spur Track or the end of scrubby before the hill top. I did it 3 days ago & it was nasty. I didn't do Billy Goat, but several guts trying to get up the Spur said it was harder than the Bluff track & they were just trying to get back to Dargo.
That looks like it was wet we camped in the wonnangatta four-wheel-driving but needed to stay in Riley's hut one night because we couldn't get past the wonnangatta river heaps of flooded cars and big bog holes that weekend 🎉😂😊😮 we were in a gq patrol
Hahaha yeah I can imagine, didn’t really get a chance to fish, we went into camp late, I had a fish in the morning quickly but didn’t even see a fish lol
@@markwhitfordnow that would suck big time there's some good fish in there. Next time go to butcher country track best track there great fishing check it out buddy
I did this track on 24/5 forr first time. Was it wet ? I stayed on right, against the edge. I know exactly where that cruser was stuck. I was as far right as i could get, and it went straight up, with violent shudders. Locals said thats the worst condition it's ever been. And we conquered it. Be proud of ur achievement, I am.
Cheers mate! Yeah it was pretty greasy! First time I’ve driven it, I’ve been a passenger a few times and this was the worst I’ve seen it. Was pretty good fun 👌🏼
Cool dude , ive got an ls in a gu , there really isn't anything better . Ps my wife says deal with the back / neck hair ! She says our pig dog has less! Regards Tony.
@@markwhitford I was down there in march and we didn't do it because we heard it was to rough . The weather was dry too. We had to many in the convoy. A nice place to be though.
@@Mambey if you have good tires you can do it in the wet while its raining its mostly rocks and if you get stuck just winch over things so you dont risk. ive done the track a few times now in differing conditions dry and while raining
Taking the “straight up - straight down” strategy will give you the best chance of success for tackling steep hills

Yeah that wasn’t Billy goats at all, I’m not sure what it was actually we dropped down the other side of the pinnacles and went left? 🤣🤣

Yes! Scrubby hill track definitely rings a bell, we ended up crossing the wonagatta river and then out from there
I remember junction spur sign too I think you’ve hit the nail on the head mate
