I'll watch daima just to see how good the story is and the animation, but I'm not expecting it to be hype whatsoever.

If this is bad,. I don't see super coming back fast. Toei is not going to invest in it.

It's gonna be good because it's Toriyama's last work
Also Toriyama had never listened to fan expectations,if he did what we expected that would just be boring
In original db everyone thought Goku woulda won his first tournament and Goku lost twice
You can't really judge it too much since it's not even out yet
Yes Goku and the cast was turned to kids but it's Toriyama who wrote the story, unlike GT or DBSH

If shows never did things that nobody asked for, there would be nothing new and no chance to see if people would actually like it. Just because people don't ask for it, it doesn't mean it's bad. It's a little something called taking a risk. Nobody asked for this because nobody considered it as an option.
If shows always listened to the fans, we'd have nothing but fanfics being made canon. And as you said, there's a time to listen to the fanbase, and a time not to. Daima falls into the latter. Will it be the right decision? We have to wait and see. Taking a chance like this will either be a hit or a miss. But as they say, you miss 100% of the shots that you don't take.
What's wrong about turning Vegeta into a kid? His personality may not mesh well with a childish personality. But that's why it becomes comic relief. Piccolo's personality doesn't mesh well as a child either. And yet we've seen both Piccolo and Vegeta as children before.
Just because they were turned into children, it doesn't mean that the show is for children. Perhaps it will be more open to a younger audience. But Dragon Ball as a franchise was never specifically for kids, so why should it start now?
If you claim that Daima is something that should never have been made, then you're lying. Perhaps it shouldn't be made. But making any claim one way or another is a truth claim. And the truth can't be known until we actually have something to evaluate. And the statement being later revealed to be true doesn't justify making a knowledge claim without knowledge. ~Paraphrased from Abraham Lincoln
Vegeta never would've been in a Slice of Life episode on DBZ, I'll grant that. But aside from the fact that he WAS in one in Super, who says Daima is Slice of Life?
They will be bringing Super back. The reason why they haven't yet is because they have a specific process. They prefer to have a certain amount of Manga to work off of before working on the Anime. I forget how it's determined. It's 2 of something (either 2 arks, 2 Seasons, or 2 years worth of content, or maybe some other 2 of something). Perhaps they were apprehensive to continue the Anime because the Manga was becoming more and more series with the Moro and Granola arks.
Technically, the movie retellings weren't 1 to 1, and therefore, the movies werent' canon. That means that technically DBS Broly was the first ever canon movie (followed by DBS Superhero). But I digress.

I agree with the start of the comment, but just like the studio has the right to experiment, I think people have the right to voice their concerns and impressions as long as they remain fair and charitable.
I still think it’s totally valid to be concerned about Daima. It’s likely going to be a partial miss for a large portion of the fan base (mostly Toonami DBZ edgelords). If DBS managed to repulse a lot of them for being “kids-oriented,” I don’t see Daima flying well with them.
Also there’s something to be said about retreading similar ideas. Many people disliked GT, and I don’t think the show will feel like OG DB either since the cast aren’t actual kids, even if they look like it. This is a general gripe I’m developing with DBS lately as well; the Moro arc and the Super Hero arc literally borrow (or retread) a ton of elements from the Cell saga. Heck, Moro looks just like Cell. I love both these arcs a lot, but I’m starting to get concerned with how “Deja vu” the franchise is becoming. We need new ideas to keep the show fresh, and the cast becoming kids again might not to be it… or it might(?) Who knows…

@@UsernameUsername0000 There's nothing wrong with voicing concerns. But not matter how charitable they are, how do the people with those concerns even know if those concerns are valid before the show even airs? That's the point I was making when quoting (well, paraphrasing) what Lincon once said.
Those same Toonami DBZ edgelords are likely people who've never seen the original Dragon Ball. And the ironic thing is that based on Japan's standards, DBS is kids oriented. But so was DBZ. Super was no more kids oriented than Z. Maybe a little more than Z, but nothing to write home about. In fact, this is the first I've heard of people having issues with Super because it's kid oriented. And those people who do have issues with Super being kids oriented aren't true fans, because the original Dragon Ball was far more "kid-oriented" than Super.
Sure, people disliked GT. But there are plenty of ideas in GT that could've been good. If Diama is in fact retreading GT ideas, perhaps it's Toriyama's intent to fix everything that's broken about GT. But the ONLY thing we know about Diama that's similar to GT is that Goku's a kid again, which is already disrupted by the rest of the characters being turned to kids again too. Also, the franchise retreads on previous ideas all the time. They've done the Evil Goku idea 4 times. Giant evil Namekian has been done 3 times. Frieza was copied by King Cold, Cooler, and Frost. Cell has been copied by Android 13, Buu, General Rilldo, Baby, Super 17, Omega Shenron, Anizalia, AND Moro (I'm not counting Cell Max as a retread because the intent is to be an homage). Almost every new Super Saiyan transformation is a retread of the original (with the two exceptions being Super Saiyan 4 which was unique, and Super Saiyan God which I refuse to acknowledge as Super Saiyan). Beerus and Wiis are a copy of Shin and Kabito, Shin being a copy of the Grand Kai, who's a copy of King Kai, which all started with Kami and Mr. Popo (Kami literally meaning God). And despite only appearing in a filler arc, the Grand Kai is a canon character along with the South, East, and West Kais. I could go on and on. My point is that Dragon Ball has been copying itself for a long time. Off the top of my head, I can think of at least 11 Tournament arcs (if you count GT). But copying old ideas isn't unique to Dragon Ball either.
But I think we can at least agree with that last part of your comment. Who knows...

@@UsernameUsername0000 Let me just clarify one thing. There's nothing wrong with proper skepticism. Personally, I'm a "hope for the best but prepare for the worst" kind of person. And I am more interested in the continuation of Super than I am with Daima.

Several concerns with Daima, and you already touched the major problem: I don't care if it's genuine complaining, I don't want to see everyone turned into a child. I don't care what unique situations can occur as a result of it, take that shit to the Disney channel. I'm really not into it. There was always a goofy top layering to Dragon Ball's story with a serious undertone all throughout, and this really doesn't serve to help the undertone. The Demon Realm looks weak as fuck to me, speaking as someone who keeps up with Ultra Vegito. I don't need it to be all that "edgy" or whatever, but... I kinda do? They're literally demons. Why do Saiyans and even King Piccolo seem more worrisome from a narrative standpoint? I get someone's going to argue with me on this, but it's literally just an opinion. Dabura was NEVER scary. The second he didn't actually break the stone statues, I knew something was reversible about it.
There are positive things, yes. I think if we get deeper lore on Buu, and if Buu plays a deeper part to the story, then it could end up being good. I'm not saying that the story itself won't have a chance to be a good narrative. But honestly, what IS Dragon Ball to these writers? I'm here for Toriyama's vision, but I'd be damned to say his vision has been successfully pulled through. I personally believe that Toriyama was already not being granted enough time to capitalize on his ideas, and it really culminated in the Buu Saga, which makes it so hard to continue onward in the correct fashion. People hate GT, people hate Super, and I'm positive people will hate Daima. There's always someone to like something, but the vice versas love to just talk shit without understanding. I am only speaking up now because I understand. I understand that this shit really is finna get screwed over. Given that Toriyama only ever handed out sparknote-esque pathways for the writers to take throughout Super, it's not even crazy to say that Toriyama's version of Super would be better than BOTH canons combined. I bet he would have actually made SSJ3 worthwhile. That form was particularly the moment where he ran out of time to put the story together, in terms of Buu. Which brings me to that main point: even Toriyama needed time to perfect his craft, so why expect the successors to perfectly continue this with just as little time? I'm not sure. Hope, I guess. It's unfortunate too, because Toyotarou is a good writer, yet things are limited.
I highkey don't care, I just want the manga animated. It's not crazy, this has been the culture forever: the manga comes out, and then the anime drops. Yea, the canons are separated, but that could be dealt with properly if you know how to write around it. It can already be implied Blue Evolution Vegeta would have mastered Blue, and Goku could have done the same to increase his Kaioken levels. They could then focus on the story that was already there instead of trying to rewrite and mix shit up each time. Superhero is already animated with the movie, so a lot of time is also saved there as long as you learn your lesson from the first two "Super" movies.

The vegeta hate is crazy in this video, this mf a hater fr. Vegeta arguably is the most well written character in the series. Also vegeta was a savage as a kid ,even more powerful than goku by far

Hardly anyone is excited or going to watch Daima, and I'm sad to say that honestly DBS has sucked and been inconsistent with DBZ since it began, but it really got bad after the end of the TOP arc. They're not even trying to keep any continuity OR your attention as you read the manga. What an absolute snoozefest I was in for when I finally decided to read the DBS manga because I presumed the anime isn't coming back for who knows how long. Both arcs I read were mediocre slop that would entertain a toddler much less a die-hard fan since childhood who looked for some kind of maturity in the writing, yet I could find none. As much as I would love to see more DBS, even if it is the doo doo Moro arc, and Granolah arc that they animate it's still going to be even more trash than previous DBS imo and everyone knows that we'll only really watch it to see UI and UE. Toriyama should've actually ended the series for good before he passed, because now we're never going to see anything close to an ending thanks to Shueisha running the show now completely. DB will be milked until the end of time just like spongebob lol
