Wroong way, but we could speak a long long time about it. So briefly everything depends of the line, driver, wheelbase & modifications. (For example stock rubicon has front & rear diff lock, whereas defender only has central ; Defender has 31.5cm under axles, rubicon has only 25.5cm).
Well I don't practice trial, but my Defender is not modified for this, either for mudding, but for trip (it has hard suspension for heavy loads, which doens't give him many twist & it is on stock tires (235/85R16). So it's very close from stock, but I can tell you a stock LR is much better on this way than a stock jeep.
very nice vid!! you did well even with AT tires... Mud tires would have helped, but the winch was the most important item. Probably you did notice that if you drive in 3rd and even 4th low-gear you have much better traction than using 2nd (too much wheelspin).
I used to use my series 3 V8 Landrover in similar conditions for work and it was really rubbish; it hated mud. I think it was simply either too heavy or under-tyred or both. I then started using a Subaru L-series (loyale/leone) and it was really amazing - skinnier tyres on 13 inch wheels but very light and so it would not create ruts so easily and rarely got stuck in the woods. Not a 'serious' off road vehicle but for some types of work it was superior to the landrover.
Nice video, it seems that the tires are doing great, as far as I can tell problems arise when the diffs touch the ground and the vehicle becomes high centered which of course is not tires' fault.
Im sorry you saying stuff about diff clearance but who keeps a 4wd and dosn't put larger wheels on it? A jeep rubicon can go 35 and or 37s when ive never seen a defender with 37s
i love defenders i really do i actually love all land rovers! i really wanted a defender more than anything but ended up buying another freelander coz the only defender i could afford for my budget of 7K was a 20 year old rust bucket and they wanted hell alot of money for it. ashame really, i love my freelander waswell tho but only took it off road once coz with their lack of ground clearance i dont want to risk any damage lol
I have alot of respect for the Defender i think they are awesome but most defenders people do not modify them. You can brag about being more capable in stock form but you can only go so far when your vehicle is stock. And a Stock Jeep and a Stock Defender I would say they about the same with stock wheels and everything but only fools use stock tires off road. If you had the biggest set of mud tires you could fit on your defender would be way more capable in the mud
Well I know but the winch is more usefull than the tyres : a heavy modified Jeep with 33" extreme offroad tyres has been stuck at this place.. And he brokes his winch.. We had to come back with a tractor. For information the Defender is sold, for a TD5 Discovery, the new vehicule of the channel :)
i think that you should try the "Maxtrax", they are wonderful on mud and sand. I was stucked in the mud a few months ago, alone. Impossible to use the winch there was no trees around...The Maxtrax saved me. The mud tyres are the must have if you want to play with mud, i just changed my AT for them and i feel the difference. I have a TD4 Defender 110. Cheers.
Ne regarde pas si ça te plait pas, tu n'es en aucun cas obligé de rester ici
Air Down, Better Tires and Lockers and that thing is unstoppable
Thank you. Yah you're right about traction it work better in 3rd than 2nd low-gear

Thank's mate, glad you enjoyed it !
What a great video. Excellent footage of a great car, great location, and great editing. Not your typical youtube shakey vid of some $hitbox.
Thanks !

You should consider getting yourself a set of mud tires for the kind of offroading that you do, but other than that cool video, thanks for sharing!

Yes I know but I just said a few comments ago that I use my LR most in sand than mud. That's why I don't give him some MT.
It already has a 5cm lift. (2.5 inches)

Bien sur !

LAND ROVER is the best off road jeep
Because Defender doesn't need to be in 37 to be the best 4x4, by far :)
Mini Camel Trophy, more mud...👍👍👍
good tires for general terrain.. you must just deflate, or use some deflated BFG Mud Terrains.. and nice vid
Im sorry you saying stuff about diff clearance but who keeps a 4wd and dosn't put larger wheels on it?
A jeep rubicon can go 35 and or 37s when ive never seen a defender with 37s
Thanks Baptiste!
LR best off road jeep ? What do you mean ?
We use it most in sand than mud
two words for you fella MUD TYRES a good set of them on this defender and you wouldn't have had to winch yourself out.

hard work, but great video- have fun!
Pour treuiller il mieux moufler !! Car la puissance maxi du treuille ce trouve sur le premier brin donc totalement déroulé ! Mais jolie def TD5 !!!
et avec des pneus fait pour ça aurait été mieux ?
Who allowed this guys to drive a 4x4? He's better for need for speed or iphone game than actual driving!;)
without good tyres the defender is not so good
I'm agree with you...
belle video en tout cas !!
what year is this beautifull ?!
Wouldn't really blame the tyres, on many occasions the diffs are making contact with the ground.
Ooh... thank you, finally semeone understand !!!! 😃
Nice rover, please put a lift on it.
nice vid !
do you have the standard transmision,or modified with diff blok's?
The standard one !
Transsmission With factory CDL
super es possible avec un pajero ?
Mes parents sont très contents de leur Defender 90 ils pensent même l'échanger contre un 110 ;)
Well thats fine, if your going to drive it on dirt roads and go threw a little puddle when its been raining :\
You need better tires..they're for normal road..
Why the hell are driving without offroad tires?!
C'est dommage pour la musique elle est pas super :/
Tyres Tyres Tyres

I love the land rover defender so much. But if I got one I properly won't drive it off-road
Probably best you don’t get one then, as off road is where these vehicles belong.
xaxaxaxa defender stucked xaxaaxa
change the tires dude ! ;)
You need better tires
Just change up a gear and get decent tyres.
change tes roues mais des tous terrains
mau dong bisa kirim ke indonesia
get some m t tires
instead of having a winch, buy mud tyres first , they will serve you better

I've been thinking of them since a long time. Maybe one day !
