Great tutorial! Going to do my first edge today. Thanks
Awesome! Let me know how it goes
i love edging 😇
Thanks for this video. I just finished my first edge banding and it turned out great. The key was the tip you gave about using the file to clean it up.
Great video. Over 90% of the video was useful information. No 20 min video with 16 minutes of stories and 4 minutes of actual advice.
Definitely earned a sub from me.
P.S. I am in awe of your clamp collection. How long did it take you to build that up?
Glad you enjoyed it!
A couple of years i would say
Thank you 👍
Will it work on a piece that has already been painted?
Thanks for the helpful video! BTW, I tried to find banding rolls on the website you point to, but it was very confusing-all it wanted to show me were veneer sheets of some kind. 🤷♂️
What kind of file is that you're using on the edge banding??
Thank you
I cut it to exact length and tape both ends to keep it in place. I remove the tape and do the ends later.
Awesome
That was very satisfying. What kind of god-tier file are you using?
Can you use this same method on painted cabinet doors if the edging just needs replaced? or will it scratch them and need repainted?
Thats a tricky one! You can do this to painted doors but you would have to very carefully file off the excess without damaging the painted face
Great advice! Lots of many useful tips, thank you! You mentioned in your video that you would do a longer board slightly different. My boards are 4’ long. Please advise.
Thanks!! For longer boards i would do it in sections so the glue doesnt cool off if that makes sense. Since your board is 4 ft i would heat up half at a time and press it on then move to the second 2 ft
would it stick to existing veneer?
Is there a 3" option that you know of and if not, what product would you recommend?
So what do you do if the piece is longer because that's my dilemma
Do you use the same method for each side? I'm going to try a rectangle table.
Yep! Just want to make sure to keep the edges that you cut off nice, clean and straight so that the next piece sits flush and neat
What about the edge of a round table?
What about a curved corner??
I just subscribed and like your no nonsense approach to what is most important to know. One thing though is very disturbing, the loud increase of your intro and exit music. I must use headphones and it blasts my ears nearly out of my head. People who don’t need to use headphones may never experience but it has been a deal breaker as to who to watch and who not to watch for me and I am sure for others also.
Just trying to help you better your approach and keep people like me from unsubscribing.
Thank you for this, I will be sure that it is addressed
Too much talking but thanks
