No one can ever get over the death of anyone (and when I say anyone I mean anyone) close. You're not alone. Vent. It matters. I held all of my emotions (from many, many things) for years (up until 2011), but never snapped. When relatives of mine talk about good memories about their childhood, I always think of what it would've been like back then (before in the old days). I never really talked with my grandfather, but I've grown to be like him (or at least what I've been told he was like) over the years. Two years ago, I took up pipe smoking. He used to smoke pipes after he quit cigarettes (many, many years ago) and I always enjoyed the rich earthy smell of pipe tobacco. Not that that matters, but you smoke Backwoods cigars as do I. Honey berry was my first too (at age nine). Kind of ironic, right? I never knew you were atheistic, but I honestly don't care. I question the existence of God and Heaven occasionally, and I've even explored other religions (Paganism or Wicca) and religious practices (witchcraft, utilizing magick, etc.) I don't care what religion other people practice, so I don't care about whether or not you're an atheist. That doesn't affect my opinion of you at all. I respect you and have ever since I watched your backwoods cigar video reviews. I choked up about halfway through this, but didn't break out in tears or anything like that. Still, you're a good guy. Jaryd and Hunter are good people. A little philosophical phrase: "in the end, the light will triumph over the darkness." Light covers up darkness. Light is hope. You have the light. I expect more great videos from you, Joey. We'll both smoke a honey berry Backwoods. Maybe not together physically, but emotionally. (God, that sounds so weird.) Good luck. It's going to be a good run this year.
I know this is an old video, but I can relate in the closest way. I remember when I got the phone call about my brother. My step father call and just told me I needed to come to the house. It was early in the morning and I was tired from work and said "what is it?". He said "I can't tell you over the phone, just come to our house NOW". Me being the stubborn asshole I am, I basically forced him to do something he didn't want to. I told him duck you, I'm tired, tell me what is so important I have to come over. And then he broke it to me...my brother had been killed in a car accident. Hands down, worse day of my life. I also felt like an ass for making him do that, because my mother came unglued on him for telling me over the phone. I'm sorry for your loss buddy.
