- As Videos on the Xaoc Devices Katowice Stereo Band Isolator and its functions are scare, I decided to try and make a short tutorial.
Please excuse the crappy voice recording...
Also, I'm open to feedback, suggestions and questions!
Thanks Gregor for this overview. I found it easy to follow and it's really clear what Katowice does in every patch. I just want to point out that your intro says 'ZADAR' instead of Katowice. I think it's also in the thumbnail so it's a little confusing.
Haha, thank you! :)
I will maybe fix it one of these days...
moving bands and affecting only one band with an fx, never thought of this itb. pretty interesting to have a band splitting module in eurorack.
How do you like your Katowice now one year later? Still in your rack? Any specific thoughts about it? I'm thinking about getting one :)
Hey, thanks for your question! I am mainly using it as an AUX effects processor - I still enjoy it and will have to make some further explorations on of these days! :)
@@gregordys2640 glad to hear that, it looks like a great module.
I have been debating getting one as well. I may be misunderstanding the module, but is it the same as using a multimode filter to isolate a band for additional processing. Does this module just make that easier to do or am I entirely off?
@@interference7480 hey you're not entirely off, but Katowice allows for three linked, stereo bands with a dedicated vca for each band. Of course you may build this concept in a separate patch with different building blocks, but not within 10hp and this amount of control. ;) For example, I also like to use 3sisters, but it doesn't have stereo and no built in vca.
@@gregordys2640 thanks for the quick reply. Very helpful!
