Had the GTX version for a day. The fit is indeed very different from other Salomon shoes I have (Speedcross 4, Outbound, and Pulsar Trail). I went up half a size in those shoes for a more comfortable width. But it didn't work this time with Thundercross. Too much room in the toe box and it felt clunky. It also felt a lot like a hiking shoe for some reason...
The upper definitely gives off some hiking shoe vibes with how built up it is. Definitely a Salomon that fits a little differently from some other Salomons as well. Thanks for watching!
Thanks I seen these at REI and they had a boatload of them for I think they were like 80 bucks it’s gonna pick one up and then I said what if I could poke holes in it so I could make it so it would drain a little bit where I run I got a lot of river crossing so I guess it wouldn’t work, but looks like looked and felt in the store like a great shoe. Specially, for that price, but I don’t think I guess it probably wouldn’t work unless I altered it but the video it’s an interesting shoe
Great review! Its pretty much in line with my experience in these. I got them (for free from Salomon) in June and it is tye furthest from a summertime shoe you can get without adding a membrane or insulation to it 😅 They are great now that everything is wet and muddy. It's also nice how there's actual room in the toebox. That said the S/LAB Genesis I got recently are even better. With the new (non S/LAB) Genesis coming out soon, that could be a super interesting versus review. Happy holidays and a blister free 2024.
Thanks for the feedback! I am super curious if the non S/lab Genesis is going to be a better version of the Thundercross. Salomon is crushing it right now!
Great review as always, best running channel find of 2023 for me! Look forward to 2024 reviews, happy holidays :-)
Very much appreciated! Happy holidays to you as well!

Woohoo. Great review. And ill just apply these same thoughts to my winterized version as well. Perfect shoe for big mtn days in the snow/mud/ice
Thanks for watching!
Got the GTX version of this shoe for 80€ for this winter. Guided by this review, curious how it will feel!

Y’all should review the Norda 001 or the Tarkine Trail Devil!
Definitely working on getting Norda into the Studio! That Tarkine is a cool looking shoe as well!
Yes, super curious on the 001.
Can’t wait for your opinions on the Norda. Absolutely love mine. Bought 2 pair
Do you guys ever use the goretex version of the shoes?
Problem is you can find the Wildhorse for like $80.
Thundercross 90€ 😊
@ Kiger 9 $50
Practically making money at that point!
