Mike you are truly onto something wirh your unscripted A/B or A/B/C reviews. I would make 2 small suggestions as you experiment and work to refine your craft even further: You could measure the width of shoes in mm in 3 spots for more precise comparisons: widest part of forefoot, narrowest part of midfoot, widest part at the heel. Then present the data ONCE to us visually at the beginning. In terms of having just a few visuals, you could draw inspiration from Segasu Running. He’s pushing visuals very far… much further than you may want/need to… but it’s helpful. The unique value you bring is in comparing the feel of comparable shoes. I’d love one with the VJ Maxx 2 and comparable shoes such as Catamount 4. Thanks for such great work!
Glad you like these! Good suggestion too, the platform width thing is something that's been more evident in comparisons recently for me. I didn't typically include that in my own giant personal shoe reference spreadsheet. But I think I will start tracking that info going forward. I do have Vectiv Sky 2 in the mix too!
One more great review, thanks! I'm a lighter runner and still thinking which of these shoes I will include in my rotation in combination with the Prodigio Pro. I liked what you said about the Enduris and the Adapt. Do you think that the Adapt support in the middle can bother my flat thin feet?
I'm not really sure how high contouring under the arch area works for flat arches. I hear different things so it's probably more of a feel/preference thing. I don't have a high arch, wouldn't say flat though, and I like when a shoe is filled in under there.
Awesome stuff. I have 2 pairs of the 7 (1 with cut lugs) won't go for the 8. Prodigio Pro is what I am waiting for.. (The Adapt is high on the list but I don't think i need it)
BTW i think you need a control run.. against the best swiss army shoe you have. So in every review there is some baseline. The A/B are so much more tinterestibg than all the standard reviews UA-cam is full of. Thx for this
Interesting idea, I'd have to think about what to pick. But it would likely be something lighter and more flexible than these, so in this case, not sure what would be gained since the differences would be so obvious. Maybe some type of reference model based on the type of shoe.
Brilliant review. Was keen on the Caldera 8 but am now thinking the Merrel Adapt might be better.

Can't go wrong with that one
