I've always believed that I keep going back to the Gothic games and early Elder Scrolls because of nostalgia. However, there has been a resurgence of these games in reviews, playthroughs, and even the long format critiques. The almost unanimous opinion is that they are more than nostalgia, the immersion is on a level which is simply not to be found in new RPGs. I only got the same kind of feeling with The Witcher 3, but not since.
Man, gothic 1 and 2 were such a bangers! and they still are , i actually consider this game as my favourite game of all time, and there is still no better rpg like this exist. I actually try to complete the game every other year , just to scribble down and remind in my mind the concept of true rpg formula
ive been saying this with all these games going for cash grab formulas, with copy paste mechanics or just straight up downgrades to try and sell a product without putting in the effort, i havent watched yet but im not gonna comment once on phone
And what are your thoughts about RPGs? Modern or Old School, doesn't matter.
