Seriously. This show failed at basic concepts a rookie writer would know not to make. It's so broken that it would have to be dismantled back to its core idea and rebuilt to fix. It's worse than the sequels, but doesn't have the excuse of having multiple directors rewriting it multiple times.

I had called the Rings of Power, dollar for dollar, the worst show ever made. But at LEAST in ROP the characters had SOME motivation.
ALL the 'GOOD' guys in ROP might have been horrible narcissists but at LEAST they didn't glorify murdering your adoptive father because your mom turned into a demonhost. ROP characters didn't say they were gonna turn themselves into the jedi to be with their sister then IMMEDIATELY proceed to fight, knock out, strip then abandon their UNCONSCIOUS sister in a forest full of man eating bugs. ROP characters didn't have a fake AZZ emotional scene then mind wipe their sister FOR NO REASON then run off with their new SITH Soy Boy.
Technically this show is a nuclear waste fire but ethically is a nightmare. But its no surprise, considering the source.

The whole lightsaber mood ring is such a giant plot hole it makes no damn sense at all. Any jedi that starts to fall should show it in their lightsaber. I get the concept, it makes some sense as Mace Wendu used Vapod which is an aggressive saber form that dances on the edge of the dark side, and red plus blue is purple. The problem is then Mace Wendu should have had the Jedi equivalent of internal affairs up his butt 24/7. It means when Anakin started to fall that his saber should have turned colors. The point is that those lightsabers were unique and they weren't trying to say this was normal for light sabers. If I recall the episode properly.
I also remember it being that the reason the Sith had red light sabers was because they used a synthetic kyber crystal. And that was a fine explanation. There's no reason to make thing super edgy "Oh you have have evilize the crystal"

Edit: shouldn't affect their "image" or reputation. Obviously, a good master is pretty upset when it happens and wonders what they could have done better. It's a response anyone might have to what is objectively a terrible thing for everyone involved....because good and evil do exist in Star Wars and it's not a good thing when someone turns evil.

While it's no defense of the show, the Jedi were not blameless for what happened on Brendock. They're on a supposedly uninhabited planet. Sol comes across a couple of girls who are soon after joined by an adult woman. Does he approach them and say, _"Hello there. My name is Sol. I'm with the Jedi order and we're here surveying this planet. Pleasure to meet you."_ as a normal person would? No, he instead hides behind a tree, follows them home, and when he can't get into their facility legitimately, scales a mountain and proceeds to sneak around their home spying on them. Later four Jedi show up who have hacked the elevator. In other words, another break in. Then Sol and Torbin scale the mountain and enter their home without consent for a third time. Who's to blame for what happens while the Jedi are in the compound is clearer, but the situation arose in the first place through shady behavior on the part of the Jedi which the witch coven felt threatened by.

Okay, but he saw the kids using the Force, which set off some alarm bells. He is aware of the Night Sisters so he feared he had stumbled across an evil cult brainwashing children. After all, horny lesbian mom was being very strict and angry in that scene. So he goes to check on them, and sees chief lesbian throw the kids to the ground during a Force training exercise, which in this alternate timeline, is illegal (apparently you can't train kids in the Force if you're not the Jedi, according to Trinity). So, since the Jedi are now just galactic police, they go in to do a welfare check, and the witches act like idiots, but the Jedi let that go. Sol goes to get Torbin when he later runs off, but then has a Force vision of the kids dying, and the elevator isn't working, so breaking in is the only way to enter.
Basically, the Jedi were worried about kids being in an evil cult, and it turns out they were right, so I'm saying that, yes, they are blameless--if criminals engage in crime, which attracts the attention of the police, then they cannot blame the cops when the criminals start a shootout which they lose.

Yeah, the way they wrote the Jedi is passible only if "discovering the vergeance" is super important, like the galaxy will explode otherwise!!! Or maybe just that planet will explode. The witches won't answer the doorbell so the Jedi have to break in to warn them to evacuate the planet, they take it the wrong way, and it all goes south from there.
There, I just randomly typed away and came up with a solution to one big plot hole. Why can't so-called professional writers put as much effort into their garbage to fix its problems? The script was nothing but problems. I don't think I've ever seen writing this bad and I've seen some really bad writing. Being both a Star Trek and Star Wars fan will do that.
To cap it all off...the vergeance thing was never mentioned again so I guess it wasn't very important anyway.

I feel really bad for Lee Jung-jae. He put in so much more effort than every other actor in this disaster and the show spits on his character at the end.
One of the worst parts is seeing the goldfish that inhabit the Acolyte subreddit eating up all the shit they were served and defending the borderline retarded plot and characters.
"The witches weren't bad. They were misunderstood."
"Sol was a deeply flawed character and he couldn't see those flaws, and that's why he died."

Maybe I am going crazy, but I think the end to the whole "kill a Jedi without a weapon" was finished in a pretty cool way (considering the show...oh boy, I can only assume it was an accident). Unfortunately they damaged the idea so badly in those middle episodes that no one even seems to care. But it's a clean ending.
    Somehow.

It never occurred to these headlamps that Sol had every right to kill Anasea...on account 1. He saw her to turn into a smoke demon and went to attack and absorb Mae
    2. No one knew this woman could do such a thing, because there was no reason for her to thanks to them not having any enemies to prove what she was doing was safe!
    3. Not one witch stepped forward to proclaim Sol and Mae were safe from Anasea's smokey form, but stood back and watch as a man who doesn't know their customs and powers become terrified at the sight of a smoke demon attacking a child!
Mae holds no accountability for locking her entire clan inside a freaking fortress, set it on fire and proudly proclaim no one could get in or out. Osha and Sol's relationship needed more time to develop since from the moment they met, it's been like what, three days? If they met in the past, a little more showing could've been nice and having Osha claiming she use to be a part of the Order, while never showing any evidence of this was more of an excuse for these balls of lint to give her all the force powers she needs to be "powerful" without proof of training. And don't get me started on Yoda suddenly becoming an accomplice to the half assed cover up!!

0:41 if dude was the Padawan to the green chick then should not put the entire first part of the show to not make sense? Because Saul and them would have had to have known who he was when he gave the poison to May to kill Tobin. They couldn't even be bothered to not make that glaring loophole

Osha is a perfect example of a Mary-Sue: Everything revolves around her, everyone is obsessed with her. The writers pretend Osha is always right even when she is wrong. She is "special". And anyone who opposes her is a villain, and is a villain _because_ he opposes her (and is often turned into a strawman).

Moral of the story : DEI Jedi Girlbosses are good at throwing people, especially men, under the bus to cover their mistakes and make things worse.
High Power, no responsibility, zero consequence. 😅

I think the bit with Mae not thinking to use the Force to kill is kind of a stunted point, because I personally think it shouldn't have been that easy to kill a Jedi Master with the Force with what we know about how effective the Force is on Force users. Mae couldn't do anything to Torbin when he was just floating there doing whatever he was doing, and you would think someone trained to use the Force is also resistant to it to some extent, let alone a Master.
On the other hand, Osha basically got a free kill out of Sol, because Sol let it happen, but somehow Smilo thinks that's the way to do it? Just hope you have an emotional connection to a Master that renders them unable to really fight back and kill them for free with the Force? I understand the idea of using the Force offensively and it being your weapon/ally/whatever, but literally the only reason Osha was able to kill Sol with the Force in that scenario was because he let it happen. In any of the other cases where Smilo wanted Mae to kill the other Masters (minus Torbin, since I guess his PTSD made him suicidal), the Force choke alone wouldn't have been the play because they would have just done something to stop it. This is especially fucked up, because she was expected to eventually fight Sol, who was also holding his own at worst and blatantly winning at best against Smilo himself, and Indara was killed by a cheap shot (which, honestly, I don't think is even reasonable in of itself).

The best part of this show was that it made Star Wars canon to the Alan Wake universe by introducing the character of Warlin Door.

From a writing perspective its a major mess
Sol is blamed for killing the Jedi when:
1 there was an eye witness that saw Mae do it
2 Torbin killed himself in the Jedi temple when Sol wasn't even on the planet. Surely security recordings would prove Sol wasn't even there and they caught the little girl that helped Mae trick the security droid and she pointed Osha out so even more people other than the obes that got killed know Sol didn't do it
3 Why can't the Jedi council sense any of this Yoda sensed when Jedi were being killed during order 66,
so did the force take a day off and Yoda couldn't sense anything
Character motivations make no sense Mae tries to kill her sister by starting a fire and then wants to avenge her by killing the Jedi she holds responsible even though it was her and the witches that started this whole mess. Then she changes her mind when she learns the sister she tried to kill is alive and decides to turn herself in to the Jedi then she runs from the Jedi when she had the chance to turn herself in and finds her sister has an emotional moment with her and when she doesn't do what she wants force pushes her to knock her out and betrays her by cutting her hair to look like her and just abandons her to get off the planet and kill sol.
Even though she could have killed him when he was unconscious or when he had his back turned to her on the ship.
In short the twins motivations flip flop for no reason. The only consistency in the show is master Sol and Quimir who this show should have had as their main protagonist and antagonists as theur characters are actually consistent

I have a theory as to why the show ended with the sister having her mind wiped by the sith. You see in legends material if a sith were to take on more than one apprentice eventually apprentices would have to meet each other and fight to the death on who would continue beimg the sith lord apprentice. I highly doubt that disney would do that later on in the story

Old Star Wars Lore: The color of your lightsaber is based on your alignment: blue = apprentice, green = knight/master, red = Sith
Disney Lore: Red lightsaber crystals are made by bleeding negative emotions into regular crystals.
New Star Wars Lore: The color of your lightsaber is based on your alignment: red = Sith/Dark Sider.
    - Osha doesn't focus on the crystal, it just turns red (I think, because she literally bleeds on it). If there's a 2nd season, Osha will probably turn good, and the lightsaber will turn green.
