I have always loved crappie, spotted bass and hybrid in that order. I have always used white perch for cut bait or thrown them back. After watching this video, I got a mess of white perch on Hartwell and brought 'em home , cleaned and fried 'em and now have a new #1 . I haven't had a fish that had bones in it (other than catfish)since I was a kid.,. more than 50 years. Thank you for your dedication to these videos!

nice iam 66 just found out about the white perch i live up on lake ontario love them me and my son got in to them last week 85 we have so maney yellow perch up here we over looked them till we ate them i love the flevor of them

In North Louisiana We Call White Crappie White Perch And Black Crappie Specks! The Cajuns Call Em Both Sac A Laits Because Specks Down There Are Speckled Trout! We Have Plenty White And Yellow Bass Too! Love To Catch And Cook Em All Whatever Folks Call Em In Their Locale! Awesome Videos Steve! GOD Bless!
The problem with that is a white perch is not a crappie. But you are right in different area's of the country people have adapted different names for some fish. Thanks for watching and sharing your comment my friend.

It was to windy for me to fish for yellow perch we went and fished the river the steelhead and salmon are running from lake Michigan i caught my first salmon, it was fun to fish for something new . Take care Steve

That right there is some mighty fine eating. Yes crappie do have small bones by the ribcage. I got on a motherload of crappie Thursday. Tight line with a minnow until the rain got too bad.

I had a similar problem with my boat shutting off while at high speed and it turned out to be the ignition switch. FYI.
Mines not shutting off it’s just cutting back when I take the gas back it’s OK and I can go again I don’t know what’s wrong with it
Hello Steve really enjoy watchiing you catch the white perch, wish i could find them as good as you do! Your problem with your boat engine could be a water pump going bad, at high speed it doesnt pump enough water and sensor switch is causing it to shut down, i had same problem with my engine and water pump replacement fixed the problem.
It seem to be pumping water good, had it changed 8 months ago.

Great video, you have a nice place,it might be the trigger or the stator if you loosen the fly wheel nut and put a pry bar under and pry up while you run a Air chisel with a blunt bit in the center of the nut you took off the vibration will allow you to pry the fly wheel off, the stator is in the trigger and if you see the coils are leaking it's probably your stator, you can make sure with a multimeter.if you had someone to pump the bulb while you were running that would tell you if it was something to do with getting gas into the engine,if it does run when pumping the bulb it might be reed valves wore out.
It is a four stroke engine now.

In Wisconsin they call them white bass. When they school up, you can catch them with anything
They are not White Bass, look it up, they are similar in looks but if you look close there is a big difference in the two fish. We have White Bass here also.

I am wrong about them being the same fish. In Louisiana some folks call crappie white perch, or specks, or sacalait, of course. I don't know what this fish is that you're calling white perch, but I agree that it's not a crappie. Thought they might be white bass, but I saw where you said that they are not. The only true freshwater perch that I know of is the yellow perch, which taste just like crappie to me. I'm at a loss here.
Ok, I found them online. Morone Americana. They ain't got that in Louisiana or Texas. Sure would like to try em, tho.

I have the same boat motor, try the fuel filters. There are 2, one is the glass one, the other is under your oil filter along the side. There's a black cover over it that is zip tried on.. cut the zip ties pull back cover and you will see a plastic filter.

I don’t know why they hide the 2nd filter. With the cover you can’t see it. It’s a white plastic filter inline type.

For you...Did you try looking on UA-cam for a answer on your boat instead of spending lots of money somewhere else..thought I seen a video on a fella that had a problem similar to what your explaining a year or so back...Wouldn't hurt to search your boat or motor on UA-cam for a answer..i was having a gas to motor issue on my boat also..forgot how he explained it though..something about loosing power like your explaining...UA-cam could have your answer is all im saying..Saved me lots of money and headache thoughout the years..anyways keep them video's coming Buddy!! Try changing the fuel filter. Or maybe you already have, but I had that issue with mine and it was the fuel filter. Didn’t look dirty but it was. Good video!

I use the inch and a half, also the 2 1/8 inch swimming minnow, but when they eating a large shed I like the 3 inch grub and bite a inch off.

Hook size don’t make any difference hook weight makes a difference use the shortest one you can use 1/8 or 1/4 oz

My boat did the same thing. I ended up changing my fuel line including the bulb. Ethanol in the gas made the inside of my fuel line deteriorate causing my motor not to run right. It basically collapsed the inner portion of the fuel line letting very little gas through. I don't know if this is your problem but might be worth a check.
That boat has never had anything in it but ethanol free gas. I changed the gas line and bulb, it didn't help.
@@theoldfisherman2040 I had the same problem with my motor. Did you change the short sections of fuel lines on the motor itself? Also check the diaphragm in the fuel pump itself. Hope this helps.

Hi, did you bleed the fish first? When I cleaned my white perch there was lots of blood, and yours are so clean!
No I don't bleed fish.
Could be water in the gas. My boat was doing the same thing and after some time and money I decided to empty out the gas tank and it was one fifth water. If you have a separator it may not be water I suppose.
Just got it fixed it has 2 fuel filters, changed them and put a new fuel pump on and that seem to fix it.

The fuel filter maybe needs changing or the fuel pump is going out it sounds like fuel pressure issue for the mid to high speed operation on the boat motor
I have change the one fuel filter but I’ve been told is another fuel filter somewhere got to check it out but it might be the fuel pump
I would like to know how you handle waste disposal. I don't bring in near as many fish as you do, but I still run into challenges with disposal of the remains. My primary method is a burn barrel. But it can only handle so much at a time--usually takes a few burns to get rid of a single mess. Garbage service runs only once a week, so that's not practical. I'm considering buying or building an incinerator--but I've never seen an existing one to get a good idea.
I simply return it to the lake and feed the catfish.
At times I have dug holes in the garden and use it as fertilizer.

Did you find out what’s wrong with your motor? It sounds like a fuel issue to me.
Not yet, I think it's the fuel pump. Sometimes I can go several miles before it starts cutting out, then I let off the gas and start going again it's fine until I go high speeds for a ways then it cuts out again. Then if I go half speed it's fine.

White Perch and Catfish are my Go To for the Fryers although I dont turn my nose up on anything GOD provides for us. Learned your Dressing skill. Quite impressed. GOD BLESS YOU MY FRIEND.

They are 2 different fish, crappie has a softer meat were white has a more firmer meat.
