Out here in kansas on my local blue cat lake.... Wilson reservoir its illegal to throw white perch back or kept alive for live bait its an invasive species but I've had not the greatest luck using it as bait i catch them the same way I do bluegill on a small hook with nightcrawler under a bobber

Good video and I spoke to a dnr officer and they said it was a accident and they thought they were sticking white bass and I was told that they were invasive to kill them if not keeping

On the coast, we catch Spanish Mackerel off the pier on bare hooks on a Diamond Jig. Blows my mind.

Hey Dieter we fish in a small 200 plus acre lake built to control flooding it is a old lake built in the 60s the only pattern to produce good numbers of channel cats is to anchor in about 30 feet of water fish the banks in about 2 to ten feet of water. The fish we catch are in the range from two to five pounds. The question is are we wasting our time trying to catch bigger channels if not where are they they do not seem to feed with the smaller channel catfish. We have fished deeper water without much luck any help you might give us will be highly appreciated my friend. ps we catch and release all fish caught.

White Perch are “kill immediately” here in Nebraska… so I won’t use sunfish as cut bait if I can get on white perch (which are everywhere). I’ll save the sunfish for Flathead fishing.

How do you prepare the white perch when you're using them for catfish? Do you just cut them up and chunks? Or do you fillet them? Thanks in advance.

so with circle hooks are you letting them set themselves on the hook? cause im noticing you are pulling hard on the rod , also i thought you cant really put circle hooks on a high low as the fish needs time to take it in its mouth and swim away thus setting itself
