I love that you’re experimenting with colour! I get bored of watching influencers only wearing only beige & grey. As a brown person I couldn’t imagine not having colour in my wardrobe! It always makes me feel my best when i step out!
I agree on everything. Belts is a new territory for me, and I’ve recently started investing in belts. They can literally make or break an outfit. I’m not much of a jewellery person either even though I like them. So that’s a new goal for me too. Using my jewellery more.
You’re absolutely right about hair and makeup, it makes such a huge difference. I used to make this mistake all the time until a few years ago when I started focusing more on my hair, and it’s been a total game-changer. Now I get so many compliments about how put together I look, and I honestly think it’s all thanks to paying more attention to my hair!
I used to wear jeans daily, then stop wearing jeans and only wear trousers, now, I am back at wearing jeans again because I wanted to try baggy jeans silhouette, one pair of baggy for almost 3 weeks straight to get it out of my system, and I finally was able to wear denim on denim for the first time, kind of refreshing, also pulling out old items from my closet to pair with a new item is a lot of fun to create different looks.
I love the message about not only aiming to look taller and slim. This is so different than from any style or fashion messages on UA-cam. 🎉 I feel you on not letting my style evolve over time. When I am feeling like I want to mix in patterns and color, it seems it is so drastic since I usually stick to basics. I love your message about not needing to buy new clothes. ❤ Thank you for sharing your thoughts on what to do with outfits that inspire us.
Thanks Adeline - your principles of mixing smart and casual pieces is really inspiring.Thank you all your content in 2024 and I hope you thrive in 2025! 😊
LOVED all the sunglasses on you! Great collection! The messy topknot and glasses are also a look, Adeline. If personal style really is personal, then -- I am coming to this conclusion for myself, these days -- we can still feel cool/stylish/beautiful on days when we are not so 'done up'. In fact, I am finding the 'down' days are the days when my style is the best, since it's not so prescribed. Adore your channel ❤
You said clothing used to be of better quality generally. I'm 67, when I was in my 20's I stopped shopping at Le Chateau. I found that when I shopped at, unfortunately, more expensive yet better quality clothing stores my clothing lasted much longer. That was before 'fast fashion' was coined. To date, sometimes I do shop fast fashion for the odd piece. Mostly though I look for quality fabrics and products that last and look better longer. ❤❤🎉
Hi, Adeline. I'm Nadia, a new subscriber (i just discovered your channel yesterday). Love your videos and I hope to rediscover my personal style through your tips. I kinda lost my way during the pandemic 🫠😅.
I fell into the trap of personal colours. I chucked everything black after being labelled as Soft Autumn…and you know what, I regret it so much. I’m a weird SA, where my skin is warm olive-toned but I have light blue-grey eyes, mid brown hair, and in winter I look best in black not brown, it makes me more contrasty and defined, whilst lighter SA colours wash me out. Since I really saw this, I’ve decided that I do love my blacks, I love some off-white, and I do not love myself in colours that are apparently best for me. I wear furious trousers (fuchsia pink or ridiculously wide), I wear black, and I no longer pay attention to what is meant to look good vs what actually looks good and makes me feel good.
I have also heard that people say getting your colours done can be limiting. Especially if they say you 'can't' wear black which is such a safe colour for so many people!! I think it should be taken as guidance but not gospel x
Great video thx😊 I have a question: don't you think that the last outfit will be better with another skirt? White skirt and black tights are not matching for me
I love ur grey blazer ur wearing. I e been on the hunt for one for over a year and can’t find one I like. Can u share where you got that one? And sizing info? Thanks. Love ur videos. Newer to ur channel so catching up on some older videos but love ur style so much. ❤
Following conventional advice can be useful, but it can also be limiting, and quash creativity and individuality. It can also be very bad advice, the opposite of what looks best. If I followed all of it, my petite rectangle shape would look brick-shaped in those sheath dresses conventionally recommended for my body shape. I do exactly the opposite, to show that I do have some curves and a waist, even if not as much as in some ideal hourglass shape. Similarly, the conventional advice for my fuller bust is “no chest pockets”, but actually, these are ideal for visually breaking up and distracting from a larger bust. I do generally follow the petite’s lengthening “continuation of color rule” for hosiery, pants/skirts/dresses and footwear, but it’s fun to break it once in a while, too. We tend to find rules, lists, etc., appealing because they are simple to use, but one’s own critical, critical objective eye is still the best arbiter of what looks best on us. Plus, as you say, we’re not always just trying to simulate that tall, neat hourglass shape, there’s far more to personal style than that. If it makes you feel great, wear it🙂
Oh wait - I just had a quick look - they have one in a similar shape but different sort of leather. This one looks new whereas the one I have has that more weathered leather look - go.shopmy.us/p-11423381
Hey Adeline - the pirpose of my comment was just to highlight that all recommendations dont work for all body types. As a fellow petite i felt its important to mention if u r willing to take this risk its on individuals choice, i m your regular follower and love ur content. Hope no hard feelings 😊
Hahaha sorry I didn’t meant to call you out like that! No hard feelings at all, and the point wasn’t about your comment specifically it was just an example of comments that I get quite a lot telling me what I should wear to look taller 🤣🤣 thank you for watching and your comment xx
In my opinion, I think I would've worn the yellow shoes with a more casual look like with a jeans. I believe the grey trousers give a more classy look. I was never a fan of trainers with taiolred trousers. But that's just my personal opinion.
I'm on the fence about people wearing plano glasses. On the one hand glasses can be a great accessory. But on the other hand, as someone who wishes she had perfect vision.. plano glasses are crazy to me!
to expand on your last "mistake": I often struggle on the right mix of dressy and casual in my outfits. I am often too much of one style and it does not feel right...
Does it not feel right because the rest of the people you are with are either more casual or more dressy than you, and you feel like your balance is off due to other people?
@ Not really! I was more thinking of just myself as I have a tendency to look too"smart" and would love to look more laid back, "undone". I think my proportions of smart casual lean too much on the smart and not enough on the casual (more edgy even???). As I am older, I also dislike when I realise my outfit is too machy/machy....
I’m so glad I never sunk into the whole neutral style capsule wardrobe thing. I dressed up like it once and it was so mundane I said never again. Now, even tho I love neutrals - I rarely ever wear black, I will always add texture and I’m never ever wearing a darn blazer or jeans.
I really like your videos and Inspirations. And I like the way you talk. You have a very pleasing voice and a calm way. You do a great job with your videos! But unfortunately I had to stop listening to this videö because of the annonying „elevator music“ in the background. I find the music very distracting and unneccessary. Wirhout the background music: 10 out of 10 for you videos! 💐
I’m sorry if you took what I said the wrong way, that’s not what I meant at all. I was referring to *myself* on the days when I feel ‘meh’… not anyone else.
If you have hair washing day maybe you have a day to wash your face? Leg? Hands? Or you don’t just wash your hair? The day of washing hair is every day like face
Thanks for watching. Let me know if you agree! ♥️
“There is so much more to you than looking taller and slimmer” 🎉 100% agree!
❤❤❤
I love that you’re experimenting with colour! I get bored of watching influencers only wearing only beige & grey. As a brown person I couldn’t imagine not having colour in my wardrobe! It always makes me feel my best when i step out!
It's new territory for me, but I'm really loving it!
This funny thing is; that not all of them look great in neutrals. Some of them literally look washed out.
I agree on everything.
Belts is a new territory for me, and I’ve recently started investing in belts. They can literally make or break an outfit.

Yes! having a good hair day can really trick people into thinking you have your sh*t together 😂
@ exactly! 😂
You look adorable with your glasses on!
Hahah that's the issue!!

I always love your videos Adeline, but you recent ones have really been spot on. Thank you for being authentic and for all your style tips! ❤
Appreciate you for saying that so much, thank you ♥️

Love those yellow sneakers with your outfit.

I really like the fit of your gray blazer, slightly relaxed, but still with shape.
Love the yellow sneakers 💛
The Christmas outfit is very nice on you. I like the grey and green. Do you have a loose grey sweater to wear with the green skirt now?
I discovered your channel recently and love your content 😊
Thank you for watching! ❤
Great video, Adeline! ❤
Thank you :) xx

It's an old one from Nilby P - I have linked a similar on from Evelane in the description box :) xx
You have the best belt collection! What size did you take in the snakeskin belt? Thanks!!
I have it in XS. I can wear it high waisted in the middle hole and then lower on the waist on the outside holes. Hope this helps!
You look great with glasses!
I like the green skirt outfit. ❤

could you please link the brown leather jacket you worn in this video for us? Thank you~
I got it preloved, it's from Massimo Dutti x

@@AdelineLoke Thank you so much. May I ask what size did you get? It is beautiful on you.
XS 😊
@ Thank you
If i ever feel a look is a little meh... I do a little extra with my makeup and jewelry, and it's an instant boost to my style.
I look to nature for inspiration. Think of trees, brown and green together.😊

But, you look so cute in your glasses! Slightly younger women, the age of my niece, 21, are wearing plano glasses exactly because of “the look”.
I'm on the fence about people wearing plano glasses. On the one hand glasses can be a great accessory. But on the other hand, as someone who wishes she had perfect vision.. plano glasses are crazy to me!

Precisely!

Trrrible vídeo - I wear glasses b/c I can’t wear contacts - you are saying an outfit with glasses look bad? Terrible comment
I’m sorry if you took what I said the wrong way, that’s not what I meant at all. I was referring to *myself* on the days when I feel ‘meh’… not anyone else.

Not everyone needs to wash their hair every day. It can be very drying. Why don't you just do you and stop judging?
I discovered that by gradually washing my hair less often they were less greasy and i could still style them nicely!!!
You’re just a kid, that’s why you need to wash your hair everyday. Once you grow up, you’ll learn the shampooing daily isn’t necessary for everyone.
Ofc you're a zio, it's always y'all that say stupid shit
