C5 then: "I have more money in savings than I do invested in this 3 acres of land and 5-bedroom house and attached garage in the middle of town. I'm going to treat myself." C5 now: "Haha you should put a turbo on that thing. Imagine how much of a beast it would be." "Dude, hush."
Actually a lot of guys under 30 own these now. Both my sons own vettes, 20yo and 22yo. 1 Zo6 the other 2010 zr1. They can afford the insurance on vettes because the insurance crash tables don't look like my mustang gt. Old men like me owned the vettes and wiped them down in the garage all the time, never driving them. They can't afford the gt because those insurance tables show them to be more likely to get into an accident. My boys see these cars with headers, exhaust, turbos, etc all the time now. My oldest bought his first zo6 for 19K at18 with 33K on it. Bought his last one last month 26.5K with 29K miles. Young hot rodders know all about the zo6.
That's how my c5 is tuned. Pretty conservative below 3k with light throttle to save on fuel when just cruising around but above 3k or throttle over 75% you better hold on.
They have a weird way of making your frown go upside down. I don't think I ever managed to stay angry, upset, or sad after 5 minutes behind the wheel of it.
Aside from this being the middle class dad car... this is also the aspiration vehicle for a refugee who just started making it and grows into a middle class dad. I.E. My dad. He had a late 70s. Then after decades he got the itch and bought the '99 C5 coupe. Traded that in and got the '03 Convertible being the ULTIMATE Middle Class 40something dad I can only aspire to be one day.

C5 z06 is still one of the fastest cars on a track day or will pass 100k cars and still set lap times and it’s 20 years old

That new route 61 toy barn definitely has some neat stuff, I believe its gone now but they had a reallly cool 80's Lotus Esprit.

I would assume the type of person who buys this is 25 and can get approved for anything with their credit or 55 and about to pay off their mortgage.
Anyone’s opinion on 84 c4 for daily driver ????
