Extreme straight line winds moved into Brenham, TX prompting multiple tornado warnings as the surging winds moved toward the Houston area. In Pine Island, Waller, Hockley and Cypress, TX there was a long swath of damage left behind. Multiple trees uprooted and/or snapped off. Many power poles were snapped resulting in a widespread power outage. Several homes had shingles blown off. Crazy to see people continuing to drive around in those conditions. Storm fronts pass quickly. Worth the wait. Sit back, enjoy the show.

Also the rain and wind can distract drivers too, easily causing a crash.

Actually storms this powerful aren’t that common in Houston outside of hurricanes. And it hit during rush hour.

Texan here. News says it’ll be between two days and three weeks before we get power again, if we’re lucky. A lot of the power towers went down with those 80 mph winds. And there’s a lot of flooding that has happened too. We’re all in the dark ages now. And don’t get me started on the damage all around in my area. I’m safe of course. But I’m writhing with anger at this situation right now. With no power from the towers, I’m on a gas powered generator that is working well. And only a few cords are plugged into it to power up my phone and pc. And some freezers too.

Good luck. It’s brutal without power. 🙏🏼

I'm surprised that you guys have your whole power stations destroyed and that it will take 1-2 weeks+ because I live in Louisiana where a Category 4 major hurricane (Ida) plowed through me, and I had no power for just 4-5 days. Also thus same storm in this video hit me too. I even made a video on it.

Update: Yesterday, at just before 4 PM, my area got its power back. With this, I can use the WiFi to watch my shows and hear my music. However, there are still some areas that are completely affected by the debris from the windy storms and flooding. A lot of the highways are still being worked on with all the traffic delays and debris removal being addressed. Which of course is nothing compared to the people needing to get to and from their work in haste. And I was able to see this from how there were quite a few people inside the corner store when I entered it a while ago. All in all, the immediate area that I live in does have its power back, but there are still some places that are still in the dark. And they just might be there for a while now. So I’ll be praying for everyone who is still going through this big dilemma, including both my immediate and distant family members.

We were in the direct path of that (we live just west of Brenham). Still don't have power. Trees down everywhere, some folks lost their roof. Pretty crazy. My Radar Omega App showed something like 80 mph winds

I was watching it happen live here in Toronto. I'm a bit of a weather watcher. You guys went through a Biblical storm.

Ok in a few days it will be 11 years without an F5. The last one was on May 20th, 2013. The best chance for that to happen would be Sunday across the Central Plains, although the primary threat should mostly be hail and damaging wind gusts, so it seems doubtful. Monday also seems questionable due to morning convection ongoing. So unless something drastic changes, the chances of an F5 seem relatively low thru May 20th.
