Condolences to those that lost a loved one from this destructive storm. I was in my van when it came through though.

We were very lucky with the destruction to our house; but we had notable damage to our fence and trees. The insurance deductible... $7 Grand. Thanks for playing our game.

This is my 2nd tornado in Cypress in 3 years. First one just messed up street lights down Fry Rd. This one was way worse. I’m afraid of what the next one will bring.

Here in san antonio ,texas its been EXTREMELY HUMID for almost a month now since last month to now. When its humid like nasty evil humid I know something bad is going to come down. Anyone whom is In their 50's -80's should share what weather was like in the 1940's-1950's. I was told weather wasn't like this back in 1950s-1960's. Especially the humidity.

Is San Antonio's weather pattern like Houston's in terms of the worst weather mainly hits Downtown and north of the I-10? This storm did track over the entire city but a lot of people in far south Houston only experienced rain.

Agree with Jaxx but I’m in lower AL. We’re accustomed to the “evil humid” here.

It's humid because of the coastal inflow.
It's usually drier in the late summer months as daytime heating dries things out over time.

This is not normal...but this is the new norm.
Living in Corpus Christi it's been really humid/windy-gulf air flowing to East Texas and no rain-in stage 3 water restrictions...we in a drought

This is such a tragedy, especially for the families of loved ones who died or were seriously injured. I hope the media does a lot of news stories about the construction cons that will come to Houston by thieves who want to capitalize on this human suffering. I worked at the Red Cross and was assigned to work in national disasters several times. Many of these victims who lost houses or had property badly damaged will be approached by con men posing as contractors who are only there to get a good chunk or most of the insurance money given to rebuild houses and other structures. They will arrive with smiles and phony promises. Get a fat check, perhaps do a little work, and then leave and never be seen again. So, victims will be victimized again. I urge the media to interview consumer protection experts to tell people how to protect themselves while doing their homework and checking out licenses and doing a good amount of research before hiring a contractor. It will save them a lot of time and money.
