@@EllenPurchaseFord It may be a good avenue for your business. Farmers, construction workers, & large truck camper owners all like serviceable trucks that don't cost as much as a house.
Yes you can, it though would make more sense and be more cost effective to just to get truck with a bed. These are normal trucks with no bed order, so people are not paying for a bed they do not need.
@@EllenPurchaseFord No you can't as the frame is narrower and longer than a consumer( conventional ) truck. I am up against this as well as this is what I would like to do since FORD does not make an F450, let alone an F550 with a PU box in the Supercab configuration. Only in a Crew cab or Reg cab in the F450. The frame will need to be shortened by around 4.0" on a 168" WB or you need to space out the difference between the cab & box. Not ideal IMO. Or custom fab a box at the front or back end by way of extention to have an 8ft - 6" PU box. Then you need to add brackets to the frame to adapt the box to mount it to the frame since the frame is not the same. I am still in the process of learning all that is required to do this before I purchase( order ) a Lariat chassis cab truck to do this. This is just some FYI to correct the incorrect reply and to enlighten. I was looking at shortening the frame but then there is the AFT fuel filler to consider if I get the midship fuel tank, which I would like to do.
@@centralcoastservicess4892 This truck did not have a markup. It was sold. The current market with such little supply to dealers, these trucks are over sticker. We currently do not have one instock. I do know that the ones we order, if a straight, no fancy 6.2 engine crew, I can get in 6-8 weeks and they are MSRP. Hope that helps.
@@EllenPurchaseFord I'm looking to build a tow truck. I was looking for a like this or a black 2 door cab and chassis but needs to measure 60 inch and the fuel tank moved to the back of the cab on drivers side.
When I review, I can see from sticker what the length is, this truck has sold. F-550 do not come in a short bed, so to speak, not compared to what you would say is a short on a F-150. These trucks also do not come with a chassis. Here is some info on them. www.ford.com/commercial-trucks/chassis-cab/models/f550-xl/
@@EllenPurchaseFord I haven't seen a new f-550 in person but I am interested in one of them to buy later on this year and adapt a 12' dump box for junk removal jobs. Thank you.
Id prefer this over the crew cab for hauling a fifth wheel. With hauler

Hey EPF: Do you have older F550 crewcabs flatbed or otherwise?
We do not! Wish we did. I can keep a eye out though and message back. The last flatbed we had was bought by the city.
