It's called munchausen, where someone becomes addicted to being the victim, and thus tries to continue doing it as much as possible. This is common for fat people. They get used to the sympathy and disability checks, which would stop if they lose the weight. Paying people to be fat is really stupid, and the bypass surgery (which Boogie got) is among the most pointless of operations ever performed.

I use to watch boogie a lot back in the day when I thought I was depressed but it was just because i was at high school before I even knew what the real world was really even like and I still don’t. I’m brining this up because boogie had responded to this and I had felt amazed to have someone who I looked up to, to actually respond to me like that was crazy and I’ve only really had one conversation with boogie after that and the conversation was him talking about keemstar, this was after when keemstar said that he eats his dog or whatever he said because he bit his dog on stream, which is a bit weird but it’s nothing that crazy to expose him for.

Alright, sorry for wall of text but I feel like this is best take in regards to this: A good contrast to Boogie is actually James Rolfe (AVGN, AngryVideoGameNerd). Both _show_ (or is in regards to one of them) themselves as wholesome, down to earth guys OOC. Both play over-angry nerds getting mad at gaming related stuff with often extravagant displays. Both underwent a change to their channels putting more media criticism / let's play stuff up (Boogie had a seperate channel for this) once the ad revenue changed from views to watch time (though James always did analytical stuff on his website hosted on blip, but IIRC almost none of these were posted on YT due to copyright reasons). The difference? :
James is actually a good person, which he has shown time and time again. Never involved in any controversy, stays out of pettiness completely and is raising his family. Always wholesome, never shows any judgement in any of his critique of anything without just cause, clarification, and never on any kind of prejudice. Doesn't power trip over his influence, heck he seems very unaware of it, asking inquiringly why the Retro games market is so huge now when he had a HUGE part in that revival. Never assumes anything of anyone, curious about other perspectives, doesn't get mad when people disagree with him and is actually curious when people do like shown in the video where JonTron visits his VHS collection and they politely disagree on some movie takes, and is generally very positive and seems like a great person to be around. His online presence is almost exclusively when he is working, he doesn't mix family/life and job unless the focus is on him only and his past. This means he doesn't get into crappy Twitter takes. He doesn't engage or flirt with activists of politics that has nothing to do with what he does on YT, and he doesn't start drama. The only nontroversy that was ever applied to him was the Twitter mob mobilizing for no reason against his video explaining why he wouldn't review a crappy wokebait film (that flopped) in a franchise he loved of which they assigned intent + label onto (naturally) because of their prejudice of how he looked in the video + that he dared attack _this_ movie in particular because of the cast (majority of criticism was of his appearance and surroundings). This is of course in spite of the fact that James was not "angry" like they said, he was calm, almost disappointed but very clear about his issues that had nothing to do with what they were trying to smear him with. Essentially they didn't watch his video, I mean, obviously, don't need to watch video to believe what my allies say about this man is true, and oh? He has a family? Well let me jump in and criticize his wife & family about this too (THIS LITERALLY HAPPENED). But that didn't stop a bunch of embarrassing publications from writing about this incident with articles still up till this day about it. Even celebrities joined in, seriously, Patton Oswald attacked him on it. The only person with balls in the whole ordeal, he gave a half-apology tweet and deleted the original attack. It was nothing, based on nothing, and all people involved had different ulterior motives to push it. Basically the same nonsense seen on Twitter for like 7 years or so now.
Now if such a storm ever hit Boogie he would be dishing out like 3 apologies on Twitter within the hour, taken down the video made an apology video where he makes it worse by "seeing both sides", flip flopping around about it and ultimately being "sorry" about it. Engaged with people on Twitter, etc etc. Basically turning the situation into what he people who engage in drama like that wants, but what did James do? Like he ALWAYS does in regards to social media. He didn't engage at all and continued working on another video where he talked about the same topic but the history behind the canceled Ghostbusters 3. A video that was planned anyways. Literally didn't even mention it there either, though it was recorded at the same time but he didn't add on an apology or clarification. No, he didn't NEED to clarify, apologize or state anything. He just did what he was going to do regardless and continued on. He rose above literally everyone by just being the non-toxic person he is, not a drama leech like Boogie DESPERATE for approval from everyone, not some weirdo who only feels valued in their life by the number of false interpretations and labels thrown at a legitimate criticism of a "woke" (or "anti-woke" for that matter) product on Twitter, but rather understanding that what gives him approval is the content he makes for his audience. Period. That's the difference between the REAL "Grandpa of UA-cam" who is James, a man who pioneered countless styles of reviewing, playing and making content online. Literally made careers of countless people inspired by him and such and he doesn't take credit for ANY of this.
Genuinely a nice person and focused on what IS important: making content that his fans are going to like and not feeding the toxicity. That's it.
Because, to put it simply, James Rolfe has always been true to himself. None of these other old youtubers/lolcows/wannabe gamers ever came close to his level of integrity, despite having his own drama to deal with at times. I long stopped carrying for AVGN or some of his other content, but I will give James the credit he deserves and say that he is a bigger man than any of these clowns who tried to imitate him.

@@MaimutaEvoluata Very true. Even when YT was shafting him for plagarist lolcow Chris Bores he never acknowledged, criticized or stated anything or anyone about it. Just continued on, found partnership with GameTrailers, posted his stuff earlier on there and focused on his work only. He rose above that too, and now Bores is doing Minecraft puppetry and getting less than 1k views while James is chilling with and being respected by big UA-camrs and celebrities like it's nothing.
It honestly is amazing when you compare him to all these clowns who were "inspired" by James to do this character critique of stuff. The entirety of Channel Awesome basically turned insane, became or were exposed as horrible people, or are completely irrelevant now. I can't honestly say that I like modern nerd videos, I still like his older take on the character more, but content that he does as himself or him as a person stands out as being greater and more genuine than most.
If there is one thing I wish he didn't do, it's get involved with Doug Walker to the degree he has. Wish he didn't tbh.

The thing about Mr Rogers, why he was so loved, is that he was a sweetheart off camera, too. He was notoriously hard to interview because he'd always play the Uno reverse card and start asking the interviewer questions about themselves, wanting to be nice and wanting to get to know them. He'd also always want selfies with the interviewers - before they were cool, which some thought of as strange.
He'd later send the interviewers birthday gifts of those photos and other stuff, telling them how nice it was to have met them. Nobody ever asked him for this. He could've switched the cameras off, not done any of that stuff, and nobody would've cared. Instead he did it, because he wanted to be nice.
Everyone seems to love a good train wreck; it's one of the more sadistic aspects of human nature, and that's very clear based on what's popular on UA-cam.

Frankly i would take his stories about his childhood with a grain of salt. There are a lot of inconsistencies and just like with everything else related to Boogie, some of it just smells like bullshit.
