I been thru that. My ex had some terrible friends. They’d get her drunk to try to have three ways and shit, I don’t drink so I saw it all at face value.
The most messed up thing is when her friends were giving it to her and then turned around and said they tried to help, but there was nothing they could do when It could've jeopardised their positions.
Okay, so basically her so called "friends" streamers saw a person with obvious alcoholism problems, kept egging her on for more content (even becoming confrontational when that one guy tried to step in) and when her problem became too annoying they simply pushed her aside. Hope she finds the help she needs.

I always figured that you should ban/have to cut out any offensive words from streams no matter who said them - like there's nothing wrong with a black person saying the n-word but if for instance they're just saying the word over and over to a young audience who might repeat what they've heard, perhaps even white fans repeating it to black kids they see at school or whatever, then I'd rather they just not hear the offensive words at all, right?

The second I saw Minx on the floor begging for that other girl to pour booze in her mouth while Esfand tries to stop it was the moment I knew she was doomed. Not only does she have a predilection for alcohol but with her mental health struggles it just made it glaringly obvious that she was going to fall off the deep end HARD. I was right too, no one took it seriously, even QT who recognized it was a problem still went with the 'don't drink too much' approach until it was obvious ANY amount was 'too much'.
Obviously this was entirely her won doing, but it seemed like literally no one around her was a good influence. Her family was too far away to help and her streamer friends, besides Esfand, encouraged her alcholism for content. Despite her mania, she was right about being surrounded by fake bitches

Parasocial relationships often occur from either people being lonely or being online for long periods every day. It's bad but I'd argue it would be wierder if you didn't. People generally build relationships with people easily, we are social animals. Some even speak to themselves or infuse inanimate object with a "personality". If you were lonely, your brain has adapted to substitute others with inanimate objects due to socialising being a core component of humanity.
It's really sad how her self destructive tendencies ended up getting mixed with people who clearly didn't care about her. Can't blame people for not wanting to be caught in the heat when she exploded.

The case of Minx is just incredibly sad. It's unimaginably hard to say no when you're beyond a certain point when you have a problem (or just as much a history) with substance abuse. Does this excuse her for what she has done wrong, of course not. It does, however, make the cases of blatant disregard by people she'd call friends of her struggle even more messed up. Before people start criticizing me for saying shit I know nothing about: I'm a recovered alcoholic at 24 years old.
Poor girl, she is stuck in a self destructive spiral. Alcoholism is one of the hardest things to overcome as it is seen as socially acceptable and reinforced to a point. Minx is clearly in need of help but the worst part of it is unless an addict actually wants to change and makes proper efforts the spiral just continues downward. I’m a recovering alcoholic, and her behavior really brings back horrible memories (or lack thereof). Addiction turns you into the absolute worst version of yourself. She’s not a bad person, she’s a sick person in desperate need of help. Alcohol is also tricky to quit because the detox is dangerous and can kill you. So people try to taper off, but they don’t know how to do it properly. And if she has epilepsy, unless she gets a Librium prescription she is at such a high risk of life-threatening seizures

It took me five attempts, a DUI, a seizure, sweating through my bedsheets to the point I needed to buy a new mattress, panic attacks, puking blood, a medically monitored detoxification process, and a twelve-step program. Alcoholism is no joke. I’ve seen it kill people or almost be successful. It was nearly successful with me. Alcohol is fun but for people with addictive personalities, it can easily become a problem and form into an addiction.

It's truly dark and terrifying - while I've never gotten hooked on it myself I've been close to and I'm so glad I took measures against it. @@IronFreakV Yeah delirium is crazy too. People literally hallucinate. And with alcoholism, there are SO many complications depending on the severity. My old roommate used to clear a fifth of vodka a day, then she went on a road trip with her mom and obviously couldn’t drink the way she was drinking. She went into cardiac arrest and was clinically dead for 9 1/2 minutes. Quitting cold turkey is super dangerous. I’m glad you’re using your work for good!

Having done the rehab dance personally, I have some homies that have been to psych wards. Not once have I heard anything positive about them, and in most cases they only exacerbate things. Even with good rehabs, aftercare is often an afterthought.
They pressured her to go w/ her contract in jeopardy, had no follow- up care plan, stuck her with the bill, canceled the contract anyway, and made her homeless. Any progress would've been undone anyway. Was the hospital plan just a way to sideline her while they got their paperwork in order, to get rid of her after they saw viewer numbers dropping?
I wouldn't put the idea out that it doesnt work in most cases and not give an alternative as it'll cause some to not even try when it could be just what they need. I agree a lot of the time it doesnt work but ive also seen a shit ton of cases where it has worked. Also aftercare is something you choose to do most the time. They wont just do it without you opting in. Outpatient care but it doesnt work for some people. Everyones different and whatever works for u works for u and no one should judge. When I was 15, my girlfriend with asthma asked me to get cigarettes from the adults. I refused and she became furious. Everyone defended her because she had the right to smoke if she wanted. We broke up the next day.

It was honestly just a thirst trap show that eventually became a parasocial enabling venue. Its honestly baffling because I was 20/21 when I started watching those streams and while I found them funny, I remember people being so invested in the actual relationships and lives of these people who were otherwise just acting. Minx became super popular due to this and the pairing of her and Jschlatt. Its kind of the same as realty shows but the audience gets to be closer to the contestants and give actual imput into the content their watching. Very smart for the streamers but unhealthy for the viewers that were overly invested.

I feel for Minx, not in a simp way, but as a fellow alcoholic. I've been a borderline alcoholic for nearly 20 years now, I managed to stop for 6 months last year, I'm drinking again now though.. It's a very difficult thing to quit. If you read this Minx, just know that you're not alone in the world, there are lots of us who struggle with it.

@@DeadpoolX9 Mine runs a bit more deep than just drinking, it stemmed from severe anxiety and depression, initially, I drank to unwind/have fun, then it started to become a routine and from there it just spiralled out of control. It happens very fast, a lot of people don't realise how quickly alcohol can take hold of you, I stand by what I'm about to say - I genuinely think Alcohol is more dangerous than drugs. I went from drinking one bottle of 70cl vodka on a Friday to drinking anywhere up to 4 litres of jack daniels a day, I'd probably be dead now had I not drank it with coke/diluted it.
Holy shit, Oxy is CRAZY addictive and the fact she doesn't know that/is ignorant about has me worried. I was on Oxy for a few weeks because I had a really bad hernia a couple of years ago. I was warned by both my doctor and apothecary to be very careful with it, so I took them only when I was literally squirming in pain. I must have had only around 7 pills in total over the span of a few weeks, but I had to throw them out right after I got only slightly better, because I caught myself craving for more. They work well against pain, but they really mess with your headand will knock you right off your feet. I can't imagine what it does when you mix it with liquor.

I have BPD and CPTSD. My best friend has always kept me stable. Cut off my alcohol consumption and ensured my safety during episodes. Even day to day she keeps me grounded. Its more common than alot of people realize, its called comorbidity in the psych field, often one illness triggers another etc. Epilepsy actually shows up with alot of mental/physical illnesses because of the harm to the brain.

Absolutely agree. It's super sad. I feel like nobody takes accountability for their role in it as well. They all could've stopped it sooner and yet they just sat and witnessed it unfold like it was "just" a bit. Of course some of them did try, but they really fucking failed big time.
I think they didn't understand the severity of Minx's situation until the whole QT - Minx drama. Whether they weren't paying attention or Minx was downplaying it, it really seemed to shock them all when they realized she actually couldn't control the compulsion to drink. (My partner watches the hasan/QT podcast and told me a little about how they talked about it)

When I was 26 I found my mom dead from alcoholism. She hadn’t answered the phone for days which wasn’t uncommon for her- she’d drop out of contact constantly for weeks. I got married at 17 to a much older man so I could leave. I’ll never forgive myself for leaving my 2 younger brothers and my younger sister behind who I raised but I was at my limit. I genuinely couldn’t do it anymore. Finally my stepdad left and took them with him too. He died a year after she did. She had been a model in college and had been an architect and worked for the federal government when she died. They knew she had issues but she mostly worked remotely. A few months before she died she ended up in the hospital and her health insurance- Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal, wouldn’t cover ANY inpatient-patient treatment whatsoever. She obviously wouldn’t pay to go and didn’t want to go. The courts wouldn’t find her a danger to herself. She had 4 doctors she paid out of pocket for benzo scripts. Mere weeks after she left the hospital she was dead. She was 53. Alcoholism will kill you in a million different ways. I can’t watch this video. I hope she finds it within herself to get some help.
i genuinely feel bad for her. don't really know the whole drama and haven't been watching her for a couple of years, but she doesn't seem like a bad person. and it feels like people aren't treating her fairly. of course, you can't blame all of your mistakes on mental health, but it's youtube drama, man. everyone has done/been accused of something shady. and it seems like people are just ganging up on her for some reason. she's not by any means a saint, but it does feel unfair and sad. life sometimes is very cruel
It is entirely her fault, she ruined relationships and events by turning up to streamer parties three times as drunk as anyone else, constantly did erratic things like diving on tables, running at mountain lions, pretending to be on medication "for a bit" and not clarifying at all when people try to stop you drinking. HS Kids do this, not adults, not famous adults and certainly not famous adults on live camera. People can handle these streamer personalities when there is an off switch, Minx did not have that button. In fact any slight resistance she gets she claims it's due to her BPD, which even if true, only further reinforces she is not someone to affiliate with when you have an online career.

It's sad, but some people you cannot help until they decide to help themselves, she's still in denial of even being an alcoholic.

I used to be a huge fan of Minx, all the way back to Austin’s “Raj Patel” days. I discovered her through CallMeCarsons Love or Host. After that, any Twitch show that she was on, I was there. It’s been wild and incredibly sad to see the decline in her mental health and her struggle with addiction. Especially after watching her grow and become this huge streamer(up until the end of like 2023) I hope one day she can make it through this and return to streaming in a healthy way or maybe pursue the career she wanted before she choose to do this full time. That honestly might be best considering how it all went down.
Minx the definition of loud = funny. It's no wonder why her comedy got significantly worse after she was threatened to be banned completely. Which consequently saw a rise in slipping to be funny. I don't have any opinion on Minx but her comedy is so lazy and unfunny.

The second I saw Minx on the floor begging for that other girl to pour booze in her mouth while Esfand tries to stop it was the moment I knew she was doomed. Not only does she have a predilection for alcohol but with her mental health struggles it just made it glaringly obvious that she was going to fall off the deep end HARD.
I was right too, no one took it seriously, even QT who recognized it was a problem still went with the 'don't drink too much' approach until it was obvious ANY amount was 'too much'.

people being so invested in other people's lives, especially online personalities, will always be the strangest thing to me.
Parasocial relationships often occur from either people being lonely or being online for long periods every day. It's bad but I'd argue it would be wierder if you didn't. People generally build relationships with people easily, we are social animals. Some even speak to themselves or infuse inanimate object with a "personality". If you were lonely, your brain has adapted to substitute others with inanimate objects due to socialising being a core component of humanity.
It's really sad how her self destructive tendencies ended up getting mixed with people who clearly didn't care about her. Can't blame people for not wanting to be caught in the heat when she exploded.

The case of Minx is just incredibly sad. It's unimaginably hard to say no when you're beyond a certain point when you have a problem (or just as much a history) with substance abuse. Does this excuse her for what she has done wrong, of course not. It does, however, make the cases of blatant disregard by people she'd call friends of her struggle even more messed up.

Poor girl, she is stuck in a self destructive spiral. Alcoholism is one of the hardest things to overcome as it is seen as socially acceptable and reinforced to a point. Minx is clearly in need of help but the worst part of it is unless an addict actually wants to change and makes proper efforts the spiral just continues downward. I’m a recovering alcoholic, and her behavior really brings back horrible memories (or lack thereof). Addiction turns you into the absolute worst version of yourself. She’s not a bad person, she’s a sick person in desperate need of help. Alcohol is also tricky to quit because the detox is dangerous and can kill you. So people try to taper off, but they don’t know how to do it properly. And if she has epilepsy, unless she gets a Librium prescription she is at such a high risk of life-threatening seizures

Yup. It took me five attempts, a DUI, a seizure, sweating through my bedsheets to the point I needed to buy a new mattress, panic attacks, puking blood, a medically monitored detoxification process, and a twelve-step program. Alcoholism is no joke. I’ve seen it kill people or almost be successful. It was nearly successful with me. Alcohol is fun but for people with addictive personalities, it can easily become a problem and form into an addiction.
@@SavvyMuhon I had a client last year who suffered alcohol delirium and one of my best friends suffered from heroin addiction some years back - I recognise every single thing you mention. It's truly dark and terrifying - while I've never gotten hooked on it myself I've been close to and I'm so glad I took measures against it.

Having done the rehab dance personally, I have some homies that have been to psych wards. Not once have I heard anything positive about them, and in most cases they only exacerbate things. Even with good rehabs, aftercare is often an afterthought.
They pressured her to go w/ her contract in jeopardy, had no follow- up care plan, stuck her with the bill, canceled the contract anyway, and made her homeless. Any progress would've been undone anyway.
Was the hospital plan just a way to sideline her while they got their paperwork in order, to get rid of her after they saw viewer numbers dropping?
I wouldn't put the idea out that it doesnt work in most cases and not give an alternative as it'll cause some to not even try when it could be just what they need. I agree a lot of the time it doesnt work but ive also seen a shit ton of cases where it has worked. Also aftercare is something you choose to do most the time. They wont just do it without you opting in. Outpatient care but it doesnt work for some people. Everyones different and whatever works for u works for u and no one should judge. It was honestly just a thirst trap show that eventually became a parasocial enabling venue. Its honestly baffling because I was 20/21 when I started watching those streams and while I found them funny, I remember people being so invested in the actual relationships and lives of these people who were otherwise just acting.
Minx became super popular due to this and the pairing of her and Jschlatt. Its kind of the same as realty shows but the audience gets to be closer to the contestants and give actual imput into the content their watching. Very smart for the streamers but unhealthy for the viewers that were overly invested.

@@DeadpoolX9 Mine runs a bit more deep than just drinking, it stemmed from severe anxiety and depression, initially, I drank to unwind/have fun, then it started to become a routine and from there it just spiralled out of control. It happens very fast, a lot of people don't realise how quickly alcohol can take hold of you, I stand by what I'm about to say - I genuinely think Alcohol is more dangerous than drugs.
I went from drinking one bottle of 70cl vodka on a Friday to drinking anywhere up to 4 litres of jack daniels a day, I'd probably be dead now had I not drank it with coke/diluted it.
Holy shit, Oxy is CRAZY addictive and the fact she doesn't know that/is ignorant about has me worried. I was on Oxy for a few weeks because I had a really bad hernia a couple of years ago. I was warned by both my doctor and apothecary to be very careful with it, so I took them only when I was literally squirming in pain. I must have had only around 7 pills in total over the span of a few weeks, but I had to throw them out right after I got only slightly better, because I caught myself craving for more. They work well against pain, but they really mess with your headand will knock you right off your feet. I can't imagine what it does when you mix it with liquor.

When I was 26 I found my mom dead from alcoholism. She hadn’t answered the phone for days which wasn’t uncommon for her- she’d drop out of contact constantly for weeks. I got married at 17 to a much older man so I could leave. I’ll never forgive myself for leaving my 2 younger brothers and my younger sister behind who I raised but I was at my limit. I genuinely couldn’t do it anymore. Finally my stepdad left and took them with him too. He died a year after she did.
She had been a model in college and had been an architect and worked for the federal government when she died. They knew she had issues but she mostly worked remotely. A few months before she died she ended up in the hospital and her health insurance- Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal, wouldn’t cover ANY inpatient-patient treatment whatsoever. She obviously wouldn’t pay to go and didn’t want to go. The courts wouldn’t find her a danger to herself. She had 4 doctors she paid out of pocket for benzo scripts. Mere weeks after she left the hospital she was dead. She was 53.
Alcoholism will kill you in a million different ways. I can’t watch this video. I hope she finds it within herself to get some help.

It is entirely her fault, she ruined relationships and events by turning up to streamer parties three times as drunk as anyone else, constantly did erratic things like diving on tables, running at mountain lions, pretending to be on medication "for a bit" and not clarifying at all when people try to stop you drinking. People can handle these streamer personalities when there is an off switch, Minx did not have that button. In fact any slight resistance she gets she claims it's due to her BPD, which even if true, only further reinforces she is not someone to affiliate with when you have an online career.
@@several. those are pretty irresponsible and problematic things, you're right. still though, hope she gets proper help. alcoholism is a really tough thing to power through, especially with mental issues. again, in no way this excuses this kind of behavior, but it is really a pity that her story has turned out this way. i think it's just pure chance that we got to see a thing like that unfold and be documented, but it's really scary how many people struggle with these issues
it's understandable why, let's say, alcoholism is generally frowned upon and is considered a sign of "hitting rock bottom", but still is very sad
mental health is very important and a lot of people don't take it as seriously as it should be taken sadly

@@several. She has a disease, and mental health issues, bozo. It's super obvious. Before she got involved with the people who very obviously don't care about her, she was consistently a decent human being. The woman is obviously depressed, and has an addiction to alcohol. Couple those two things with being around terrible people who are using her for internet clout. She's very obviously gonna look like a terrible person.
@@several. problem is that her friends encouraged that behavior and then left her behind when she finally became too much to handle. with better friends she might've not had turned out like thi, which is why I feel bad for her. Of course she's responsible for her own circumstances, but the lack of support in her environment play a part too.
@@Thomas48484 Maybe, but from what I can remember (and that may be false) but I'd recall after every streamer party that Minx did x and made everyone x, maybe I didn't watch closely enough but it seemed like only ever her direct friends would "encourage" her behavior, but even with them, QT literally gave her another chance and she still fucked it up, that was support, and I'd have to imagine if she'd risk losing her own projects integrity, she has offered other lifelines and support which wasn't appreciated.
It's sad, but some people you cannot help until they decide to help themselves, she's still in denial of even being an alcoholic.

it was really terrible watching her go on those as she was struggling, it was just very degrading. i cant believe how much she got slut-shamed either, especially ppl knowing her situation. hate all of this bs going around, really wish tom would be more fking respectful about it

when i think of justaminx, all i feel is sad. because from what i saw she was a really nice person, and funny too, but her addictions and mental health ruined her.
I used to be a huge fan of Minx, all the way back to Austin’s “Raj Patel” days. I discovered her through CallMeCarsons Love or Host. After that, any Twitch show that she was on, I was there. It’s been wild and incredibly sad to see the decline in her mental health and her struggle with addiction. Especially after watching her grow and become this huge streamer(up until the end of like 2023) I hope one day she can make it through this and return to streaming in a healthy way or maybe pursue the career she wanted before she choose to do this full time. That honestly might be best considering how it all went down.

Minx the definition of loud = funny. It's no wonder why her comedy got significantly worse after she was threatened to be banned completely. Which consequently saw a rise in slipping to be funny. I don't have any opinion on Minx but her comedy is so lazy and unfunny.
I didnt know about any of this, its so sad. She deserves help and i hope she gets it. Addiction is no joke and that with bipolar depressive which is a terrible neurological disorder is just awful. I really hope she makes a full recovery.
