Where do you live that winter conditions mean less roll out? Here in SC, during the winter, the ground becomes firmer and you get a little more roll out. About the same as our mid summer. Spring and fall when we get more rain, the fairways get a little more soft and thus less roll out.

I like Rick, Pete, Mark et al. But no one on you tube keeps it succinct and simple like Chris

I will try using that set-up as soon as the weather breaks here in New Hampshire or possibly at one of the heated driving ranges.

This shot is sooo useful to me because the first hole at our club there is a tree in the middle of the fairway and I’ve lost count of the times I’ve hit a good drive down the middle only to hit the tree and go off at a angle. This will give me a fighting chance of clearing the tree to give me a shot to the green. Great video as always 👍🏻

I've been struggling to get loft out of the ball period. I am going to try this and hope it works.

Put this in play today (Long Island, NY). after a little swing adjustment. I was bombing drives (for me). But I may need to make some driver adjustments (loft down an M1) to get the most out of it. But a great tip and even seemed to fly straighter.

Thanks Bob, and yes if you do hit up more you often have to budge the loft down a touch 👍

@@ChrisRyanGolf Thanks. Makes sense and it is the off season, so I have time to play with adjustments. I'm also trying to get a video of my swing together for an online lesson if the weather cooperates.

Good video thanks. Could you tell me what height you are please? I'm 6'3 and struggling with my set up at the moment. I think I stand a bit closer to the ball than you, but when I stand further away I tend to go onto my toes and go over the top. I have balance issues!

GOOD TIP FOR THE RANGE! He must be talking about somewhere it rains very often. The balls where I live roll like crazy in the winter. The ground is hard and the grass is slick. I hit very low liners and that is what is saving my distance, 50 yards of roll. Rough, of course is a different story.

Where do I send your fee to! Brilliant practice routine. One quick question, are your hands level or behind the ball at address?

I would slightly disagree. In a winter Im hitting my driver like a 3 wood so I can squeeze more distance because ball will slide on wet fairway instead of dropping almost vertically and stop. Works for me as Im naturally hitting lobs :)

If it's real cold, the ground gets hard, and a good low hit ball can run a long way! A high drive will certainly bounce higher, but not necessarily bounce further 5hanca running drive!!!!

Would you say 170mph ball speed and about 270-280 carry was a good combination? I feel like I want to be hitting the ball further but I only have to pull my driver out my bag on 3 holes at my golf course

  • @justinolson8655

I hit up on the ball maybe too much. I get a lot of top spin on my ball, especially if I hit the ball on the bottom.
